Derartige Bürsten werden gemäß der WO 00/64307 gefertigt, indem gummiartige Noppen in Bürstenkörper-Löcher eingesetzt werden. Dabei muss die Form der gummiartigen Noppen so gestaltet sein, dass sie sich in die Bürstenkörper-Löcher einsetzten lassen.
Bei Zahnbürsten gemäß der US 5 628 082 A werden separate, vorgefertigte Noppen mit einem Bürstenkörper verbunden. Dies trägt mit zu einer kostengünstigen Produktion bei, da bereits vorhandene, vielfach eingesetzte und bewährte Maschinen verwendet werden können.
Durch das Spritzen und Verbinden der Noppen erst am Ende des Fertigungsvorgangs können die Noppen während des Stopfens der Borstenbündel und deren Bearbeitung auch nicht hinderlich sein und können so auch keinen Schaden nehmen. Insbesondere besteht die Möglichkeit, dass bei dem Rundtisch oder Drehteller 28 Noppen 18 mit der Spritzgießmaschine 29 gespritzt werden, ebenso zusätzliche Teile wie beispielsweise die Saugnäpfe.
Die Spritzgießmaschine 29 kann als Mehrkomponenten-Spritzgießmaschine ausgebildet sein. Damit können unterschiedliche Noppen gespritzt werden und gegebenenfalls auch zusätzliche Teile.
Weiterhin kann mit einer Mehrkomponenten-Spritzgießmaschine sowohl das Spritzgießen als auch ein Umspritzen der zusätzlichen Teile vorgenommen werden.

Zwischen den verdrängten Borstenbündeln 2 ist an dem Bürstenkörper 3 jeweils ein borstenfreier Bereich 7 (Fig. 2, 4, 7, 9) vorgesehen, in dem Noppen angebracht werden sollen. Der Bürstenkörper 3 kann hierzu Ausnehmungen aufweisen, in die die Noppen eingebracht werden. Es ist jedoch auch möglich, die Noppen direkt auf die Bürstenkörper-Oberfläche aufzuspritzen.
