Abstract

A dry and/or wet vacuum cleaner comprises a body housing first means for collecting and filtering and a motor removable from the body. The body is associable to at least one suction fixture. In turn, the motor is associable to second collecting means to operate itself as a vacuum cleaner.

Description

  • The present invention relates to a dry and/or wet vacuum cleaner, particularly with water filtering.
  • As known, wet and/or dry vacuum cleaners are substantially divided into two categories: pulling appliances and appliances called "electric brooms".
  • In the first ones, all functional elements such as suction means, steam production, filtering and collection of the sucked solids or liquids, are housed into a body resting on wheel, so as to be pulled, said body being connectable to a hose to which several fixtures are connected, usable alternately when needed.
  • In electric brooms, the functional elements are applied to a handle and/or to a sliding base located at the end of said broom.
  • In any case, the versatility of use of these appliances is limited to the possibility of mounting a certain number of interchangeable fixtures, whereas the base structure remains unchanged.
  • There are also small-sized vacuum cleaners that can be moved and operated by a single hand but that however exhibit low power. In fact in the practice they are generally used in very limited applications, such as for example for sucking crumbs.
  • Document DE 196 17 066 discloses a dry vacuum cleaner comprising a body mounted on a trolley and housing first means for collecting and filtering solids and suction means, wherein said body can be associated to at least one suction fixture. The body is removable from the trolley and the suction fixture, for being connected to another suction fixture and to a handle to be used as an electric broom. However, this reference does not allow to obtain a hand-operable vacuum cleaner from the motor of the main unity.
  • On the other hand, object of the present invention is that of proposing a dry and/or wet vacuum cleaner which should be very versatile.
  • In particular, such appliance is configured and provided with a series of fixtures to be transformed from a pulling appliance to an electric broom, from a shoulder vacuum cleaner and vice versa, according to the needs.
  • Such object and the relevant advantages are achieved by a dry and/or wet vacuum cleaner according to at least claim 1.
  • Further features and advantages of the invention will appear more clearly from the following description, made with reference to the attached indicative and non-limiting drawings, wherein:
    • Fig. 1 shows a perspective view of a vertical section of the dry and/or wet vacuum cleaner according to the invention;
    • Fig. 2 shows an exploded perspective view of the appliance;
    • Fig. 3 shows the connection system between motor assembly and appliance in detail;
    • Fig. 4 shows a front view of the appliance;
    • Fig. 5 shows an exploded perspective view of the motor assembly; and
    • Fig. 6 shows the motor assembly in dry vacuum cleaner configuration with some fixtures.
  • According to a general embodiment, the dry and/or wet vacuum cleaner comprises a body housing first means for collecting and filtering liquids and/or solids and suction means, wherein said body can be associated to at least one suction and/or washing fixtures, said appliance being characterised in that said suction means comprises a motor assembly removable from said body and adapted for receiving second means for collecting solids and/or liquids to operate as vacuum cleaner itself.
  • In said drawings, reference numeral 10 globally denotes the body of a dry and/or wet vacuum cleaner. Body 10 rests on wheels 11 so as to be pulled.
  • The body houses two side tanks 12 containing water and/or detergent, a central tank 13 for collecting water and/or solids, and steam production means, for example a boiler 14. The central tank 13 can also operate as water filter and is easy to remove from body 10 for emptying and cleaning it.
  • On its front side, body 10 is provided with a connection 15 for connecting a hose 16 at the free end of which it is possible to attach various fixtures for sucking and/or washing, such as an inlet 17, a brush 18, an electric carpet sweeper. More in detail, connection 15 comprises a first inlet 19 for attaching a pipe for sucking solids and/or liquids, a second inlet 20, of smaller diameter, for attaching a pipe for dispensing steam or water and/or detergent, and a multipolar socket 21 for the electric connection of the appliance to a remote control provided on handle 16' of hose 16.
  • Moreover, body 10 is also provided with at least one pump 22 for the continuous refilling of boiler 14 and for injecting water and/or detergent into the washing fixtures.
  • The suction function of the appliance is performed by a motor assembly 23 connected to body 10. According to the finding, the motor assembly 23 is removably attached to an opening 24 obtained in a rear niche of body 10 so as to be accessible from the outside to be conveniently removed from body 10.
  • The motor assembly is directly powered by the mains through a cable 25 which, for example, can be inserted in a gripping handle 26 provided onto the same motor assembly.
  • According to a preferred embodiment of the invention, when the motor is applied to body 10 it transmits the electric power into body 10, in particular to boiler 14, through an electric connection between a multipolar socket 27 provided on the motor assembly and an electric plug 28 provided on body 10, for example next to opening 24.
  • Once removed, a container 29 for filters 29' for dust recovery and one of the fixtures supplied with the appliance mentioned above can be applied to the motor assembly. Moreover, a belt can be attached to the motor assembly with fixtures.
  • The motor assembly can thus become a small but powerful vacuum cleaner, an electric broom and a shoulder vacuum cleaner.
  • In other words, by few and simple operations the user can switch from the use of a traditional pulling appliance to the use of an electric broom, or of a shoulder vacuum cleaner, for example for an easier cleaning of curtains and glasses, or simply to the use of a small and powerful vacuum cleaner.
  • It should be noted that the technology used to realise the appliance allows using a low consumption motor assembly which however exhibits a very high suction efficiency, and is especially light so as to be easily moved.
