Claims (6)

  1. A contactor with box terminals, comprising
    - a switchgear housing consisting of a housing bottom, a housing top (2) and a front housing cover,
    - terminal bars (8) fixed in the housing top (2) and projecting laterally therefrom and
    - box-type terminal housings with the box terminals (20) held therein and enclosing the terminal bars (8), said terminal housings being latchable to the housing top (2) from the terminal sides (10, 12) by means of latching means,
    characterised in that
    - the housing cover consists of two substantially right-angled cover halves (4, 6), which closely face one another with their front cover limbs (16), and
    - the cover halves (4, 6) are constructed as terminal housings with regard to their terminal-side cover limbs (18) and may be fixed to the housing top (2).
  2. A contactor according to the preceding claim, characterised in that the side walls (32) of the housing top (2) comprise guide means (34) extending parallel to the front (14) and perpendicularly to the terminal sides (10, 12), which guide means (34) interact with mating guide means (36) constructed on the front cover limbs (16).
  3. A contactor according to the preceding claim, characterised in that the guide means (34) interact in clamping manner with the mating guide means (36).
  4. A contactor according to one of the preceding two claims, characterised in that the guide means (34) are constructed as inwardly protruding guide strips and the mating guide means (36) are constructed as guide grooves.
  5. A contactor according to one of the preceding claims, characterised in that the side walls (32) of the housing top (2) enclose the sides of the terminal-side cover limbs (18) and interact latchingly therewith.
  6. A contactor according to the preceding claim, characterised in that latching means (38) provided on the terminal-side cover limbs (18) interact with mating latching means (40) provided on the side walls (32).
