Description
- La présente invention est relative à un connecteur coaxial pour carte de circuit imprimé, comportant un corps de connecteur apte à être fixé, notamment par brasage, à une carte de circuit imprimé.
-
US-A-5 897 384 décrit un tel connecteur. - Le connecteur coaxial selon l'invention est en particulier utilisable pour assurer une connexion de face avant de modules radiofréquences (RF) fixés dans une baie d'équipement de station de base.
- Dans cette application, les modules RF qui peuvent par exemple être des modules d'émission ou des modules de réception comportent une carte de circuit imprimé sur laquelle sont montés des composants RF passifs et actifs reliés par des lignes de transmission RF réalisées sur le circuit imprimé.
- Les modules RF sont reliés entre eux par des cordons coaxiaux et, à cet effet, chaque module comporte un ou plusieurs connecteurs coaxiaux fixés au voisinage d'un bord de la carte de circuit imprimé.
- Afm de ne pas perturber l'environnement extérieur par des émissions électromagnétiques parasites, il est généralement prévu un blindage électromagnétique de chaque module pour, d'une part, éviter des émissions électromagnétiques parasites liées au rayonnement généré par les composants RF internes au module, et d'autre part, permettre un bon fonctionnement du module sans perturbation par des émissions électromagnétiques parasites provenant de l'extérieur.
- Le blindage électromagnétique du module impose à la connectique de face avant d'assurer une fonction de continuité électrique entre la masse du connecteur et le châssis de module.
- Traditionnellement, cette fonction est réalisée par un système vis-écrou au niveau du connecteur.
- Cependant, assurer la continuité électrique entre le châssis et les différents éléments le traversant est une opération délicate à réaliser et l'on a tendance actuellement à limiter le blindage électromagnétique aux sources de rayonnement qui sont situées sur le circuit imprimé, c'est-à-dire les lignes de transmission et les composants RF passifs et actifs.
- La fonction de blindage est alors assurée par des capots recouvrant les différentes sources de rayonnement hormis les connecteurs coaxiaux car ces derniers sont difficiles à intégrer.
- De ce fait, les lignes de transmission RF reliant les composants des circuits au connecteur doivent être optimisées pour minimiser le rayonnement.
- Cela nécessite l'utilisation de circuits imprimés multicouche et l'utilisation de trous métallisés pour enterrer les lignes RF (lignes micro-rubans ou lignes triplaques). Cela a pour inconvénient de générer des pertes RF supplémentaires.
- La présente invention a pour objet un connecteur coaxial pour carte de circuit imprimé permettant d'éviter notamment les inconvénients mentionnés ci-dessus lorsqu'il est utilisé dans un module RF avec un capot de blindage, permettant ainsi d'améliorer la qualité et la facilité du blindage du module.
- Le connecteur selon la présente invention comme revendiquée est essentiellement caractérisé par le fait que le corps de connecteur présente une forme de coquille entourant le contact extérieur du connecteur coaxial sur sensiblement la moitié de sas circonférence, ledit corps présentant une surface inférieure plane apte à venir en appui contre une surface du circuit imprimé et une surface supérieure convexe de profil de section curviligne ou polygonal, en particulier trapézoïdal ou triangulaire.
- Avantageusement, l'angle formé entre la surface plane du corps de connecteur et un plan tangent à sa surface supérieure lorsque celle-ci est de profil de section curviligne, ou entre la surface plane du corps de connecteur et la face qui s'y raccorde de la surface supérieure lorsque celle-ci est de profil de section polygonal, est inférieur ou égal à 70°.
- Selon l'invention, le connecteur coaxial est de préférence mis en place dans une découpe réalisée à partir d'une face d'extrémité du circuit imprimé, la hauteur du corps de connecteur en forme de coquille étant déterminée de telle manière que lorsque sa surface inférieure plane est appliquée sur la carte de circuit imprimé, le contact central du connecteur coaxial qui s'étend parallèlement à la surface du circuit imprimé est sensiblement tangent à cette surface.
- Le connecteur coaxial selon l'invention comme revendiquée comporte en outre un capot de blindage vis-à-vis du rayonnement électromagnétique, comportant une face frontale dont l'extrémité inférieure est apte à venir au contact de la surface du circuit imprimé, ladite face frontale étant munie d'une découpe dont le profil correspond au profil de la surface supérieure du corps de connecteur en forme de coquille, ledit capot recouvrant lorsqu'il est mis en place sur le circuit imprimé le corps de connecteur, avec, de préférence, interposition d'un joint d'étanchéité vis-à-vis du rayonnement électromagnétique.
- Dans le but de mieux faire comprendre l'invention, on va maintenant en décrire des exemples de réalisation nullement limitatifs en se référant au dessin annexé dans lequel :
- la
figure 1 est une vue en perspective schématique arrachée d'un connecteur coaxial selon l'invention monté sur une carte de circuit imprimé et muni d'un capot de blindage, - la
figure 2 est une vue analogue à lafigure 1 avant mise en place du capot de blindage, - la
figure 3 est une vue schématique en bout du connecteur coaxial desfigures 1 et 2 , et - les
figures 4 et 5 sont des vues analogues à lafigure 2 de variantes de réalisation. - Le connecteur coaxial illustré aux
figures 1 à 3 présente un corps 1 en forme de coquille entourant le contact extérieur 2 du connecteur coaxial sur sensiblement la moitié de sa circonférence. Le corps en forme de coquille 1 présente une surface inférieure plane 3 et une surface supérieure convexe de profil de section curviligne 4. - Comme on le voit sur la
figure 3 , un angle α est formé entre la surface plane 3 du corps de connecteur et un plan T tangent à sa surface supérieure 4, cet angle étant de 70° dans l'exemple illustré. - Le connecteur coaxial est monté sur une carte de circuit imprimé C et est fixé par brasage du corps de connecteur 1 sur la carte.
- Le connecteur est mis en place dans une découpe réalisée dans le circuit imprimé C à partir d'une face d'extrémité de celui-ci de manière que, comme illustré aux
figures 1 et 2 , la douille de contact extérieur 2 fasse saillie vers l'avant de la carte C. - Le corps de connecteur 1 s'applique par sa surface plane 3 contre la surface supérieure de la carte de circuit imprimé C.
- Comme on le voit sur la
figure 3 , dans la position de montage, le contact central 5 du connecteur coaxial qui s'étend parallèlement à la surface du circuit imprimé C est sensiblement tangent à cette surface, le centre du cercle inscrit au profil curviligne de la surface supérieure 4 du corps de connecteur se trouvant au-dessus de la surface supérieure du circuit imprimé C. - Afm d'assurer une fonction de blindage électromagnétique, un capot 6 est mis en place sur le connecteur, le capot comportant une face frontale 7 munie d'une découpe 8 dont le profil concave correspond au profil convexe de la surface supérieure 4 du corps de connecteur en forme de coquille. Le capot, comme on le voit sur la
figure 1 , recouvre, lorsqu'il est mis en place sur le circuit imprimé, le corps de connecteur avec, dans l'exemple illustré, interposition d'un joint d'étanchéité vis-à-vis du rayonnement électromagnétique 9. Le joint 9 est par exemple en silicone chargé et peut être mis en place facilement à l'aide d'un pistolet applicateur. - Ainsi, le connecteur est enserré entre le capot et le circuit intégré, ce qui améliore la résistance de l'assemblage du connecteur sur la carte aux sollicitations mécaniques.
- Les formes correspondantes du profil du corps de connecteur et de la face frontale découpée du capot permettent d'assurer une pression quasi constante sur le joint d'étanchéité vis-à-vis du rayonnement électromagnétique et ainsi de garantir une bonne qualité de blindage.
- En outre, le capot de blindage étant situé au-dessus du connecteur, il est possible d'utiliser une surface du circuit imprimé qui n'était pas utilisée auparavant, ce qui améliore la densité et réduit le coût. De ce fait, les lignes de transmission du circuit imprimé peuvent rayonner et donc il n'est plus nécessaire d'utiliser des circuits multicouche, ce qui simplifie la conception et réduit encore le coût.
- Il est en outre à signaler que le profil du corps de connecteur selon l'invention permet d'utiliser des contacts centraux droits sans nécessiter de contacts coudés, ce qui facilite l'assemblage, le corps de connecteur comportant des orifices 10 visibles sur la
figure 2 pour le passage de conducteurs de liaison au circuit de la carte. - Le corps de connecteur 1 comporte une zone de préhension 11 illustrée sur la
figure 2 . - Dans le mode de réalisation représenté à la
figure 4 , le corps de connecteur 1' présente une surface supérieure 4' de profil de section trapézoïdal et dans le mode de réalisation de lafigure 5 le corps de connecteur 1" présente une surface supérieure 4" de profil de section triangulaire. - L'angle α formé entre la surface plane du corps de connecteur et la face de la surface supérieure 4' et respectivement 4" qui s'y raccorde est le même que l'angle α illustré à la
figure 3 . - Bien que l'invention ait été décrite en liaison avec des modes de réalisation particuliers, il est bien évident qu'elle n'y est nullement limitée et qu'on peut lui apporter différentes variantes et modifications sans pour autant sortir de son cadre comme défini dans les revendications présentes.
Claims (3)
- Connecteur coaxial pour carte de circuit imprimé comportant un corps de connecteur apte à être fixé à une carte de circuit imprimé, caractérisé par le fait que le corps de connecteur (1) présente une forme de coquille entourant le contact extérieur (2) du connecteur coaxial sur sensiblement la moitié de sa circonférence, ledit corps présentant une surface inférieure plane (3) apte à venir en appui contre une surface de la carte de circuit imprimé (C) et une surface supérieure convexe de profil de section curviligne (4) ou polygonal (4', 4"), ledit connecteur comportant en outre un capot de blindage vis-à-vis du rayonnement électromagnétique (6) comportant une face frontale (7) dont l'extrémité inférieure est apte à venir au contact de la surface de la carte de circuit imprimé, ladite face frontale (7) étant munie d'une découpe (8) dont le profil correspond au profil de la surface supérieure (4 ; 4' ; 4") du corps du connecteur, ledit capot recouvrant, lorsqu'il est mis en place sur la carte de circuit imprimé, le corps de connecteur avec, de préférence, interposition d'un joint d'étanchéité vis-à-vis du rayonnement électromagnétique (9).
- Connecteur coaxial selon la revendication 1, caractérisé par le fait que l'angle a formé entre la surface plane (3) du corps de connecteur et un plan tangent à sa surface supérieure (4) lorsque celle-ci est de profil de section curviligne, ou entre la surface plane (3) du corps de connecteur et la face qui s'y raccorde de la surface supérieure lorsque celle-ci est de profil de section polygonal (4' ; 4"), est inférieur ou égal à 70°.
- Connecteur coaxial selon l'une quelconque des revendications 1 et 2, caractérisé par le fait que la hauteur du corps de connecteur est déterminée de manière que, lorsque sa surface inférieure plane (3) est appliquée sur la carte de circuit imprimé (C), le contact central (5) du connecteur coaxial qui s'étend parallèlement à la surface de la carte de circuit imprimé est sensiblement tangent à cette surface.
