Claims (12)

  1. Method for inscribing a set of identification plates (10) which has a plurality of separable, connected identification plates (12), wherein by means of an inscription device the identification plates (12) are provided with an inscription (16) which consists of an output dataset of inscription characters, wherein an input dataset of inscription characters is input into a data processing unit of the inscription device, and wherein the inscription characters at least partly have text components, characterised in that the text components are stored in different languages in a memory of the data processing unit, in that it is determined by means of a pre-selection in which language the text components for the inscription (16) are used, and in that for each text component of the input dataset the data processing unit selects from the memory the corresponding text component in the language determined and assembles the inscription characters with the selected text components to form the output dataset.
  2. Method according to Claim 1, characterised in that the data processing unit creates a request to input a text component for the input dataset in the language determined, if it is not contained in this language in the memory.
  3. Method according to Claim 2, characterised in that the text component not contained in the memory is stored in the memory in the language determined when it is input.
  4. Method according to any one of the preceding claims, characterised in that the identification plates (10) in each case have at least one first and one second inscription position (18, 20, 22) for applying inscription characters, wherein for each inscription character the input dataset pre-determines to which inscription position (18, 20, 22) and to which identification plate (12) it is applied, in that different font attributes are stored in the memory, in that for each inscription position (18, 20, 22) it is determined by means of a pre-selection which font attributes the inscription characters to be applied to this inscription position (18, 20, 22) are provided with, and in that the data processing unit at each inscription position (18, 20, 22) provides inscription characters to be applied there with the font attributes determined and assembles the inscription characters, provided with font attributes, to form the output dataset.

Method for inscribing a set of identification plates (10) which has a plurality of separable, connected identification plates (12), in each case having at least one first and one second inscription position (18, 20, 22) for applying inscription characters, wherein by means of an inscription device the identification plates (12) are provided with an inscription (16) which consists of an output dataset of inscription characters, wherein an input dataset of inscription characters is input into a data processing unit of the inscription device, and wherein for each inscription character the input dataset pre-determines to which inscription position (18, 20, 22) and to which identification plate (12) it is applied, characterised in that different font attributes are stored in a memory of the data processing unit, in that for each inscription position (18, 20, 22) it is determined by means of a pre-selection which font attributes the inscription characters to be applied to this inscription position (18, 20, 22) are provided with, and in that the data processing unit at each inscription position (18, 20, 22) provides inscription characters to be applied there with the font attributes determined and assembles the inscription characters, provided with font attributes, to form the output dataset.
  6. Method according to Claim 4 or 5, characterised in that the different font attributes have different font types and/or font sizes and/or line widths.
  7. Method according to any one of Claims 4 to 6, characterised in that the different font attributes have different colours.
  8. Method according to Claim 7, characterised in that the inscription device is a flatbed plotter, and in that each colour is processed by means of a pen assigned in the print driver of the flatbed plotter.
  9. Method according to Claim 7, characterised in that the inscription device is an engraving machine, and in that each colour is processed by means of a tool assigned in the print driver of the engraving machine.
  10. Method according to Claim 7, characterised in that the inscription device is a laser inscription machine, and in that each colour is processed by means of a laser power value assigned in the print driver of the laser inscription machine.
  11. Method according to Claim 7, characterised in that the inscription device is a black and white printer, and in that each colour is processed by means of a shade of grey value or hatching value assigned in the print driver of the printer.
  12. Method according to Claim 7, characterised in that the inscription device is a colour printer, and in that each colour is processed by means of a colour value assigned in the print driver of the printer.
