Eine nachträgliche Editierung des Eingabedatensatzes und Zuordnung von Schriftattributen zu den einzelnen Beschriftungszeichen ist nicht mehr erforderlich. Desweiteren ist es möglich, dass als Beschriftungsgerät eine Laserbeschriftungsanlage verwendet wird, wobei jede Farbe mittels eines im Druckertreiber der Laserbeschriftungsanlage zugeordneten Laserleistungswerts abgearbeitet wird. Die Farbe der Beschriftungszeichen des Ausgabedatensatzes wird somit durch die Laserleistung festgelegt, mit der die einzelnen Beschriftungszeichen auf die Kennzeichnungsschilder aufgebracht werden. Alternativ kann das Beschriftungsgerät ein Drucker sein. Im Falle eines Schwarz-Weiß-Druckers wird jede Farbe mittels eines im Druckertreiber zugeordneten Graustufenwerts oder Schraffurwerts abgearbeitet.
