Definitions

  • the invention relates to an illuminating balloon with an inflatable envelope enclosing a lighting system having at least one electric light bulb, inflating means provided with an integrated fan intended to suck the external air to inject it inside. the envelope while maintaining it in the inflated state, a means for supporting the bulb and fan assembly, and means for supplying electrical energy.
  • a balloon can be used for various lighting applications for the outside or inside.
  • the document FR-A-2,754,040 describes an illuminating balloon with self-inflating flexible fabric envelope by means of a built-in booster.
  • the envelope contains a high-power light bulb protected by a metal grid.
  • the grid is extended to the top of the envelope, and prevents the envelope from coming into contact with the bulb, especially in case of deflation.
  • the grid is formed by rigid metal son angularly distributed around the bulb. In the event of an accidental explosion of the light bulb, for example during a shock or a sudden overvoltage not detected by the protection equipment of the electrical cabinet, the debris of the bulb can pierce the envelope , and cause damage in the external environment. The presence of the grid also creates shadows in the lighting field emitted by the balloon.
  • the base of the envelope is equipped with a mounting flange adaptable by means of assembly on a support plate of the control block.
  • the document US 6527418 mentions a lighting device consisting of a bulb housed in a protective tube, in which circulates a flow of cooling air from a fan.
  • the assembly can be suspended in an inflatable structure.
  • the document DE 8506181 refers to an inflatable balloon having at the base an orifice into which the lighting unit is introduced.
  • the latter has a transparent envelope enclosing the bulb, and includes a nozzle to allow the injection of air through holes. There is no fan, and the bulb remains positioned in the lower part of the balloon.
  • the object of the invention consists in producing an illuminating balloon having an easily replaceable self-inflating envelope, and making it possible to obtain an optimum illumination field free from all shadows, as well as total safety in the event of an explosion. accidental light bulb.
  • the device according to the invention is characterized in that the bulb and fan assembly is capped by a transparent or translucent plastic bowl, constituting both an explosion-proof insulating screen, and a blast air deflector allowing the cooling the bulb (22) and inflating the casing (11), the bowl (25) having passage openings (28) for the circulation of air to the internal volume of the casing ( 11) to ensure said inflation.
  • the passage orifices are preferably arranged in the upper part of the bowl to ensure the inflation of the envelope from above.
  • the bowl comprises at the bottom an open bottom delimited by an annular flange engaging with a bearing surface of the support plate.
  • the envelope comprises a circular opening bearing on the annular flange of the bowl under the action of the internal pressure generated in the envelope during inflation.
  • the envelope is thus simply placed on the rim, and is fixed to the top of the bowl by a fastener, for example a simple screw or nut.
  • the envelope is secured to a support plate by fixing means.
  • the transparent plastic material of the bowl is based on polycarbonate, which allows to generate a uniform lighting field and free of shadows.
  • the bowl has a form of revolution extending over the entire height of the balloon.
  • a safety thermostat is housed in the envelope to automatically interrupt the supply of the bulb in case of fan stop.
  • an illuminating balloon 11 comprises an inflatable envelope 11 enclosing a lighting system 12, and automatic inflating means 13 intended to suck the external air to inject it into the interior of the envelope. 11 keeping it in the swollen state.
  • the envelope 11 is made from a flexible plastic fabric, and presents by way of example, an elliptical or spherical shape obtained by assembling several cut fabric sectors, usually sewn together.
  • the base of the envelope 11 comprises a circular opening 14 allowing the illumination system 12 to be introduced, and inflation means 13.
  • the inflating means 13 comprise a fan 15 or aspirator having a suction port 16 in connection with the outside, and a discharge port 17 in communication with the interior of the casing 11.
  • the fan 15 is mounted on the internal wall of a metal plate 18, whose periphery is equipped with an annular support surface 19 having a diameter slightly greater than that of the opening 14 of the casing 11.
  • the plate 18 is provided with at least a hole 20 to allow the aspiration of the external air and the crossing of the supply conductors connected to an external source of energy.
  • An attachment device 21 is also attached to the outer face of the plate 18 for the fitting of an outer support mast of the balloon 10.
  • the lighting system 12 comprises at least one electric bulb 22 housed in an insulating bushing 23 mounted on a rail 24 above the fan 15.
  • the bulb 22 and fan 15 assembly is capped by a bowl 25 of thin molded plastic material.
  • the material of the bowl 25 may be based on polycarbonate or any other transparent or translucent plastic material.
  • the bowl 25 has a substantially frustoconical shape, having at the bottom an open bottom delimited by an annular flange 26, which is in engagement with the bearing surface 19 of the plate 18. The upper part of the bowl 25 is extended until top of the envelope 11 by being attached by a fastener 27.
  • the bowl 25 is provided with a plurality of through-holes 28 allowing the discharge air to be expelled from the fan 15 for inflating the casing 11 of the balloon 10.
  • the passage orifices 28 are preferably provided in the part upper bowl 25, so as to ensure the inflation of the casing 11 from the top.
  • the casing 11 is simply placed around the bowl 25, and its circular opening 14 bears on the flange 26 by being pressed by the internal pressure prevailing in the casing 11 during inflation.
  • the flange 26 may advantageously have a frustoconical profile to promote the sealing effect with the opening 14 during inflation.
  • the only point of mechanical attachment of the envelope 11 is at the top through the fastener 27 which connects to the upper end of the bowl 25.
  • the fastener 27 may be a simple screw or nut, easily accessible when disassembling the envelope 11.
  • the envelope 11 is arranged around the bowl 25, and comprises a circular opening 14 secured to the annular rim 26 of the bowl 25 by fixing means. These are constituted for example by screws (not shown) passing through holes 30 formed in the plate 18 ( Figure 2).
  • a safety thermostat 29 is provided for controlling the temperature inside the balloon 10, and automatically interrupting the supply of the bulb 22 in the event of an accidental shutdown of the fan 15.
  • the polycarbonate material of the bowl preferably contains protective chemicals which render it insensitive to ultraviolet radiation.
  • the transparency of the bowl 25 is not altered in time, and provides a uniform illumination field and free of shadows.
  • the presence of the molded plastic bowl 25 also provides a dual function of explosion-proof insulating screen in the event of an accidental explosion of the bulb 22, and a deflector of the blowing air for inflating the envelope. 11 from the top.
  • the lighting system 12 comprises several electrical bulbs 22, for example four, housed in insulating bushings 23 inside the bowl 25.
  • the volume of the envelope 11 and the bowl 25 is larger. larger than those of Figure 1 to single bulb.
