Definitions
- the invention relates to a packaging for foodstuffs, in particular for animal food, according to the preamble of patent claim 1.
- Object of the present invention is to provide a packaging for food, especially animal food, according to the preamble of claim 1 in such a way that the animal is given a choice even without knowledge of the relationship between the external appearance of a package and its food content.
- microcapsules are arranged in a microcapsule layer which is connected via an adhesive layer to the cover or the carrier and that a peelable sealing film is applied to the microcapsule layer by means of a further adhesive layer and the peelable sealing film is peelable from the microcapsule layer in several steps, wherein each step can only be peeled off from a part of the microcapsule layer and, after it has been peeled off, it can be glued to it again to cover the exposed part of the microcapsule layer.
- This solution according to the invention makes it possible for the animal, through its sense of smell, to make a choice between different packages and thus between different food contents. It thus smells the contents of the food package, although it is still closed.
- the microcapsules Upon peeling off the sealing film which adheres to the microcapsules of the microcapsule layer via the further adhesive layer, the microcapsules are destroyed and the fragrances contained therein are released.
- This embodiment is advantageous because the packaging is odorless as long as the sealing film has not yet been peeled off. Furthermore, the fragrances remain even after prolonged storage in the microcapsules without them, as would be the case with simple impregnation of the packaging, with time, volatilize.
- the peelable sealing film is peelable in several steps from the microcapsule layer, wherein it is removable only in a part of the microcapsule layer in each step and wherein it can be glued after peeling to re-cover the exposed part of the microcapsule layer with this again ,
- the pet can be presented with a selection of several packages, with the pet then being able to orientate itself to the scent of the individual packages and make a selection.
- the unselected packages may then be unopened by re-adhering the sealing foil for a next meal, where the animal will again have the opportunity to take a sample of the fragrance from this once-selected package.
- German Utility Model 298 09 384 U1 discloses fragrance strips for improving odor, in which a fragrance applied to the fragrance strip is sealed with a protective film.
- a package according to the preamble of claim 1 is known from US-A-4,720,423.
- the figure shows an animal food can 1, which consists for example of tinplate and is provided on its outer periphery with a printing or a band 10 made of paper or plastic.
- a region 2 is provided which contains fragrances that give off the same odor as the animal food contained in the animal feed can.
- a carrier strip 14 having a microcapsule layer 16 of microcapsules 18 containing perfume.
- the microcapsule layer 16 is fixed by means of a first adhesive layer 20 on the upper lid 12 of the can 1.
- the figure shows that the sealing film 24 is stripped about two-thirds of the microcapsule layer 16, in which exposed portion 16 ', 16 "of the microcapsule layer 16 the microcapsules 18 are peeled off the sealing film 24 and the further adhesive layer bonded thereto
- the microcapsules 18 are still intact and the fragrances are still contained in these microcapsules 18
- the microcapsule layer 16 in the example shown is provided with three sections 16 ', 16'',16'"of microcapsules separated by webs 17. In this way, the carrier strip 14 can be opened three times, with each microcapsule 18 of a single destroyed the sections 16 ', 16 ", 16"' and released their perfumes become.
- the animal food can 1 can thus be offered to the pet for selection at three different times.

Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a packaging for foodstuffs, in particular for animal food, according to the preamble of
Pets, especially dogs and cats, have preferences for certain foods, as do humans. These preferences may vary from meal to meal. If an animal keeper opens an animal food package, such as a can of cat food, to his pet, it may well be that the pet spurns that particular food preparation that day.
By means of concise coloring of the packaging, it is already possible to a certain extent to enable the pet to differentiate between different animal food packages. However, the animal can only assign the color difference of the individual packagings recognizable to the animal to the different foods contained therein by learning and applying experience knowledge.
Object of the present invention is to provide a packaging for food, especially animal food, according to the preamble of
This object is achieved in a generic packaging according to
This solution according to the invention makes it possible for the animal, through its sense of smell, to make a choice between different packages and thus between different food contents. It thus smells the contents of the food package, although it is still closed.
Upon peeling off the sealing film which adheres to the microcapsules of the microcapsule layer via the further adhesive layer, the microcapsules are destroyed and the fragrances contained therein are released. This embodiment is advantageous because the packaging is odorless as long as the sealing film has not yet been peeled off. Furthermore, the fragrances remain even after prolonged storage in the microcapsules without them, as would be the case with simple impregnation of the packaging, with time, volatilize.
It is particularly advantageous that the peelable sealing film is peelable in several steps from the microcapsule layer, wherein it is removable only in a part of the microcapsule layer in each step and wherein it can be glued after peeling to re-cover the exposed part of the microcapsule layer with this again , This allows a repeated release of the fragrances. Thus, for example, the pet can be presented with a selection of several packages, with the pet then being able to orientate itself to the scent of the individual packages and make a selection. The unselected packages may then be unopened by re-adhering the sealing foil for a next meal, where the animal will again have the opportunity to take a sample of the fragrance from this once-selected package.
From DE 44 44 440 A1 it is generally known to provide a packaging made of paper, cardboard or cardboard with an odorant, which is unpleasant for vermin and therefore has a deterrent effect on the vermin. In this way, the contents of the packaging should be protected against vermin infestation.
German Utility Model 298 09 384 U1 discloses fragrance strips for improving odor, in which a fragrance applied to the fragrance strip is sealed with a protective film.
A package according to the preamble of
The invention will be explained in more detail below with reference to the drawing, in which the sole figure shows an animal feed can which, according to the present invention, has an area containing fragrances.
The figure shows an animal food can 1, which consists for example of tinplate and is provided on its outer periphery with a printing or a band 10 made of paper or plastic. On the
The figure shows that the
The embodiment shown in the figure of the invention provided with a fragrance packaging is simple and inexpensive to manufacture, since the packaging used so far, regardless of whether it is tinplate cans or cardboard packaging or vacuum-sealed bags, can continue to be used unchanged; they merely need to be provided with
