Claims (20)
- Solid or compacted timber building block for the construction of solid walls by staggered joint stacking, consisting of a parallelepiped timber block of less than or equal to 20 centimeters height, characterized in that the block is a parallelepiped rectangle and has a length that does not exceed sixty centimeters and all smaller dimensions, and a ratio of length to width that does not exceed three.
- Solid or compacted timber building block according to claim 1, equipped with ordinary tongue and groove joint for assembly formed of two flanges (1) on the upper side of the building block and two grooves (2) on its underside.
- Solid or compacted timber building block according to claim 2 in which longitudinal axis (3) of flanges (4) on the upper side and longitudinal axis (3) of grooves (2) on the underside, are positioned two opposite two in the same vertical axis (4).
- Solid or compacted timber building block according to claim 3 in which the cross section of flanges (1) and grooves (2) consist of a half circle and are such that the cumulated length of the chords or diameters per side does not exceed one third of the length of the building block, the space occupied by chamfer (5) being deducted when this is arranged in the upper edge of the building block.
- Solid or compacted timber building block according to claim 4, in which the diameter or the chord of groove (2) is 10% larger than the diameter of flange (1).
- Solid or compacted timber building block according to one of claims 2, 3, or 4, in which the distance between outer edge (6) of groove (2) and adjacent face (7) is less than one tenth of the width calculated on the upper side of the building block.
- Solid or compacted timber building block according to one of claims 1 to 6 , presenting a symmetrical joint on its two ends in the form of a splined tongue and groove joint (8) parallel to the faces of the building block and perpendicular to the top and bottom sides.
- Solid or compacted timber building block according to claim 7 presenting one or several splined tongue and groove joints (8) depending on the size of the building block, the width of joint groove(s) not exceeding one third of the square section area of the building block.
- Solid or compacted timber building block according to claim 7 or 8 in which the depth of the groove does not exceed the distance between the face of the building block and the first edge (9) of the groove.
- Solid or compacted timber building block according to any other claim 1 to 9 with two countersunk drilled holes (10) perpendicular to the top side of the building block.
- Solid or compacted timber building block according to claim 10 in which holes (10) traverse the building block down to its lower part and are positioned in a same axis (11) parallel to flanges (1) and between them.
- Solid or compacted timber building block according to claim 10 or 11 with a distance measured from the top side equal to, for one drilled hole, one half the width of the building block and, three quarters of the length of the building block for the other hole.
- Solid or compacted timber building block according to one of claims 10 to 12 in combination with claims 7, 8 or 9 comprising several groups of two holes of a number equal to the number of grooves of the splined tongue and groove joint (8) and in the same longitudinal axis (11).
- Solid or compacted timber building block according to one of claims 10 to 13 in which drilled holes (10) at the two ends of the building block are symmetrical.
- Solid or compacted timber building block according to any of claims 10 to 14 characterized in that the diameter of these drilled holes are not to exceed the dimension of the splined tongue and groove joint so that screws or metal nails of the same diameter can be inserted.
- Solid or compacted timber building block according to any of claims 1 to 15 with means for screwing or nailing the building block to a lower building block at a depth equal to at least one third of the thickness of the latter.
- Solid or compacted timber building block according to claim 7, 8 or 9 in which tongue (12) has a length, thickness and width that is 5% less than that of its housing created between two end-to-end adjoining building blocks.
- Solid or compacted timber building block according to claim 2, with grinding down of only one part of flanges (1), on the covered assembly (13) when joining the walls of the building block at corners or tying into a bond beam.
