Description

EP-A-434 545 .The invention relates to an articulated arm awning according to the preamble of claim 1; see eg EP-A-434,545 ,

Such articulated arm awnings are known in a variety of embodiments. They usually have a mountable to a building wall or a ceiling support tube, extending parallel to the support tube roller tube and attached to the support tube Gelenkarmträger with corresponding articulated arms for extending and retracting a dropout profile. In so-called open articulated arm awnings of this type is often provided a roof structure for the protection of the wound on the fabric shaft awning. In conventional awnings, the roof construction usually consists of a permanently installed roof, which serves to cover the canvas shaft. By fixed roofs, however, results in awnings with adjustable slope, the problem that the position of the roof can not be easily adapted to the inclination of the awning and thus optimal protection of the awning fabric is not guaranteed at any inclination adjustment. Especially with downwardly adjusted inclination of the awning, the awning fabric is in its retracted position relative to the roof downwards and is therefore no longer optimally protected against the weather.

The object of the invention is to provide an articulated arm awning of the type mentioned, which allows improved protection against awning, even with different inclination settings.

This object is achieved by an articulated arm awning with the features of claim 1. Advantageous developments and advantageous embodiments of the invention are the subject of the dependent claims.

A significant advantage of the embodiment of the invention is that the position of the roof can be changed relatively easily and adapted to the desired inclination of the awning. The roof profile is rotatably mounted on the two side bearing caps and Can be fixed by simple clamping elements in a desired position. This allows the roof to be adjusted quickly and easily for optimum coverage of the awning fabric. The rotatable roof forms a unit with the side covers and ensures improved cloth protection.

In addition to the improved weather protection, the embodiment according to the invention also offers an optical advantage, since the awning can be covered even with different inclination settings by appropriate adjustment of the roof so that the awning fabric is no longer visible from the front in the retracted position. Seen from the front, the awning thus forms a closed overall impression.

The in the FIGS. 1 to 4 schematically illustrated articulated arm awning includes an in FIG. 4 shown support tube 1, the through FIG. 2 shown brackets 2 or other suitable brackets can be mounted on a wall or ceiling of a building. At the two ends of the support tube 1 each have a side bearing cover 3 is attached. On the support tube 1 are also two in the longitudinal direction spaced from each other Gelenkarmträger arranged, which consist in the embodiment shown of a support tube 2 attached to the rear support member 4 and an adjustably connected thereto front support member 5. The rear support member 4 includes for attachment to the support tube 1 in FIG. 4 On a forwardly projecting receptacle 8 of the front support member 5 which is articulated one end of an inner Gelenkarmteils 9, the other end is connected in a conventional manner hinged to an outer Gelenkarmteil 10 and with this one Articulated arm for extending and retracting a dropout profile 11 forms.

Each have a disc-shaped connecting portion 12 and 13 with internal spur toothing and a clamping screw 14, the two rear and front support members 4 and 5 are interconnected. This allows a simple tilt adjustment can be achieved. To set a desired inclination only the clamping screw 14 must be solved and the spur gear teeth are disengaged. Then, the front support member 5 can be rotated relative to the rear support member 4 and adjusted gradually for tilt adjustment. When a desired position is reached, the tightening screw 14 can be tightened again to set a desired inclination of the articulated arm awning.

In the schematic partial view of FIG. 1 in each case only one of the two, for example, as an injection molded part running side bearing cover 3 and only one Gelenkarmträger shown with associated articulated arm. Also on the other side of the articulated arm awning a corresponding side bearing cover 3 and a second Gelenkarmträger with associated articulated arm are provided. Between the two side bearing caps 3 is an in FIG. 4 shown cloth shaft 15 rotatably supported about a rotation axis 16. The front end of a wound on the fabric shaft 15 awning 17 is attached to the front rail 11. The drive mechanisms for extending and retracting the drop profile 11 and the winding and unwinding of the awning fabric 17 are known as such, so that can be dispensed with their description.

To protect the wound on the fabric shaft awning 17 a roof profile 18 is provided, which is rotatably mounted on the two side bearing caps 3 and by in figure 4 shown clamping elements 19 can be fixed in a desired position. By slightly loosening the clamping elements 19, the roof section 18 between a in FIG. 2 shown upper position and a in FIG. 3 shown pivoted lower position and thus easily adapted to the set inclination of the articulated arms. As a result, an improved protection of the awning fabric is achieved.

The roof profile 18 made of sheet metal or plastic, for example, contains a rear part 20 adapted to the shape of the side bearing cover 3 and a front part 21 protruding forwards over the side bearing cover 3, which is bent downwards in the embodiment shown. The rear part 20 is bent in a semi-circular shape and lies at its ends in each case one in FIG. 5 shown annular ridge 22 on the inner end face of a substantially circular front part 23 of the side bearing cover 3. The web 22 is set back relative to the outer circumference of the circular front part 23 such that a continuous transition occurs between the roof profile 18 and the side bearing cover 3. At the two ends of the forwardly projecting front part 21 of the roof profile 18 roof adapter 24 are attached to the lateral end of the roof profile 18. The shape of the roof adapter 24 is chosen so that they also cover the awning fabric from the side and ensure optimum lateral protection.
