Definitions

  • the invention relates to a cleaning unit for cleaning a driving device in the manner of an escalator or moving walk, according to the preamble of claim 1, a displaceable from an operating mode in a cleaning mode driving device according to the preamble of claim 9 and a method for performing a cleaning sequence for cleaning the Driving device according to the preamble of claim 10.
  • Driving devices are escalators and moving walks with a plurality of tread units, which are connected to an endless conveyor. Users of the driving devices stand on treads of the kiting units or they go on the driving devices in the same direction as the driving devices themselves.
  • the tread units form escalator steps, hereafter referred to as steps, and for ride surfaces, the tread units form pavement pallets, hereafter referred to as pallets.
  • Escalators overcome with relatively large inclination greater differences in height as entire floors. Moving walkways are horizontal or slightly inclined, but generally with lower angles of inclination than escalators.
  • the kiting units are entered, especially in bad weather, with wet and dirty footwear.
  • treads of the tread units not only treads of the tread units but also laterally adjacent stationary parts of the driving devices are polluted.
  • Additional sources of dirt are leaking or surplus lubricants, with which certain parts of the driving equipment are lubricated, as well as abrasion of Guiding elements that rub against each other when moving the driving device.
  • the JP-08157176-A describes a cleaning system for cleaning laterally adjacent to the rode units fixed parts of the driving devices.
  • This system includes cleaning elements in the form of brush assemblies that are invisibly disposed below the tread surfaces in the side regions of a kicking unit and move together with the user.
  • the brush arrangements can be adjusted laterally from rest positions to the outside outward in effective positions in which they grind along the stationary areas of the driving device to be cleaned.
  • the adjustment of the cleaning elements or brush arrangements is done remotely.
  • the wear is likely to be relatively high, since the brush assemblies always grind in the same orientation along the surfaces to be cleaned.
  • the remote control for the adjustment of the cleaning elements or brush assemblies is relatively expensive and, since it is in the polluted area of the driving device, more susceptible to failure or damage.
  • the EP-1 142 882-A1 and the US-2001 / 0,025,764-A1 disclose cleaning systems with cleaning elements in the form of cleaning stones or cleaning blocks, in particular made of fiber-filled plastics, which continuously scrape or scour the contaminants from the soiled stationary surfaces during a movement of the endless conveyor.
  • the cleaning elements may be provided with a so-called cleaning medium.
  • a cleaning medium here is not a liquid or pasty detergent referred to, but a coating in the type brush structure.
  • the cleaning elements are attached laterally under a cleaning unit, which is mounted for cleaning purposes instead of guide elements.
  • a disadvantage of this cleaning system is that the substantially rigid cleaning elements leave scratches on the surfaces to be cleaned, and that the cleaning elements wear out quickly.
  • a cleaning unit is to be understood as meaning a step or pallet, including all its individual components, designed for cleaning the driving device, even if these do not form a unit in the true sense of the word.
  • the cleaning elements are formed as brush assemblies, which are arranged in side areas of the cleaning stage, such that they during the Cleaning process by a little beyond the lateral boundary of the tread units protrude and touch the adjacent stationary walls cleaning.
  • the cleaning elements may also be formed as a sponge or cloth.
  • a car wash could also be formed: sponge, brush, rags and hair dryer.
  • Cleaning elements in the form of brushes are subject to little wear. With a suitable selection of the bristle material, the bristle dimensions and the contact pressure no scratch marks on the cleaned surfaces, neither by the bristles themselves nor by foreign particles, since such from the brushes of the brush assemblies not or hardly pressed to these surfaces or looped along these surfaces become. In addition, because of the elastic flexibility of the bristles, it is not necessary to position the brushes with high accuracy.
  • the brushes are below a surface of the cleaning unit, which corresponds to the tread of the tread units.
  • the driving device can also be used by the public while the cleaning unit is installed.
  • a brush arrangement which has brushes, which lie above the surface of the cleaning unit, which corresponds to the tread of the tread units.
  • the driving device can no longer be made available to the public without restriction, but it is nevertheless possible that operating personnel can stay on this surface.
  • each of the brush arrangements has at least one non-rotatably mounted brush and at least one having a rotatably mounted brush.
  • the non-rotatably mounted brush can either be permanently mounted or mounted in a vibrating area.
  • the rotatably mounted brush which is also referred to as a roller brush, is generally set in rotation by a movement generated in the direction of travel of the cleaning stage. Both brushes are preferably detachably mounted, for example by means of screw / nut connections.
  • the non-rotatably mounted brush may be attached to a support body of the cleaning unit, which in turn is, preferably releasably and for example by means of a further screw / nut connection mounted on a body of the cleaning unit.
  • the rotatably mounted brush designed as a roller brush can be fastened, for example by means of a screw arrangement, on a roller shaft of the cleaning unit.
  • the brushes are supplied with a flowable cleaning agent, preferably a fluid, continuously or at intervals of time.
  • the flowable cleaning agent can be supplied from a detergent dispenser, which moves in solidarity with the cleaning stage.
  • the supply of the cleaning agent is advantageously carried out automatically or by gravity.
  • the fluid dispenser may be a downdraft dispenser or a pump dispenser, depending on the arrangement of the brushes, which pump may include respective types of actuators. It can e.g. be driven electrically, mechanically or chemically by fuel cells or by compressed air.
  • a driving device in the manner of an escalator or moving walk, with tread units, which are connected to an endless conveyor, is usually located in one Operating mode, wherein the endless conveyor is driven.
  • the driving device is set in a cleaning mode, the endless conveyor being stopped, at least one stepping unit being replaced by at least one cleaning unit, the endless conveyor being driven again for the actual cleaning, and then the cleaning units being dismantled and treading units being reinstalled. Then the driving device can be put back into its operating mode.
  • the driving device 1 shown in Fig. 1 is an escalator which connects a lower level E1 with an upper level E2.
  • the driving device 1 has, as visible moving parts, an endless conveyor 10 and an endless handrail 12, which can be moved in solidarity.
  • the endless conveyor 10 consists essentially of a plurality of tread units 14 and the connecting elements connecting the tread units 14, a drive 16 and two deflections 18.
  • the tread units 14 are here formed by steps and have tread surfaces 15.
  • the driving device 1 is in one Configuration shown in which a stepping unit 14 is dismantled and replaced by a temporarily mounted cleaning unit 20. After completion of the cleaning process, a stepping unit 14 will be mounted in place of the cleaning unit 20 again.
  • the cleaning unit 20 could also be designed such that it can be mounted as a replacement for a plurality of adjacent tread units 14, or several tread units can be replaced by a respective cleaning unit.
  • the cleaning unit 20 is designed so that it can be fastened in the same way as the tread units 14.
  • the driving device 1 further comprises several stationary parts. On both sides of the tread units 14, at least approximately vertical walls are arranged, of which only the wall 102 is shown in FIG. 1. In the lower region of the wall 102 is a base whose upright base plate 104 is arranged directly adjacent to the lateral boundaries of the tread units 14 and separated from the tread units 14 only by a small gap. Stationary parts of the driving device 1 are also raceways, of which in Fig. 1, only the track 106 is shown.
  • This cleaning unit 20 has a surface 21 which corresponds to the tread surfaces 15 of the treading units 14.
  • the cleaning unit 20 also has a body 22.
  • the cleaning unit 20 has two mirror-symmetrically arranged brush arrangements. Each brush assembly has a first cleaning element 24 and a second cleaning element 26.
  • FIG. 3 shows the cleaning unit shown in FIG. 2, in a view according to the arrow B.
  • FIG. 3 shows the cleaning unit shown in FIG. 2, in a view according to the arrow B.
  • the first cleaning element 24 is a fixed brush with bristles whose outer ends are all approximately in a flat, relatively large effective area, which is shown in Fig. 3 with checkered hatching.
  • This cleaning element 24 is fastened by means of screw / nut connections 28 non-destructively releasably attached to a mounting body 30, which is designed here as a support plate.
  • the fastening body 30 in turn is fastened to the body 22 by means of further screw / nut connections 28, likewise non-destructively detachable.
  • the attachment can also be done in any other suitable form, fastening systems would be particularly suitable, which are tool-free solvable but still safe.
  • the cleaning element 24 is used to clean the base plate 104. As a result, for example, when using conventional Gleitstein entryen better management of the teeing units 14 to conditions.
  • the second cleaning element 26 is a rotatably mounted brush, which is also referred to as a roller brush.
  • This cleaning element 26 usually has no own drive but is set in rotation by the movement of the cleaning stage in the direction of travel of the endless conveyor.
  • the second cleaning element 26 is, instead of plastic rollers of the treading units 14, fastened by means of still further screw / nut connections 28 to a roller shaft.
  • the cleaning element 26 serves to clean the track 106.
  • the driving device 1 is usually in an operating mode in which the endless conveyor 10 is driven either permanently or when required, that is to say when a user is present. To carry out a cleaning sequence, the driving device 1 is placed in a cleaning mode. In the cleaning mode, the endless conveyor 10 is stopped, at least one cleaning unit 20 mounted as a replacement of at least one stepping unit 14, set the endless conveyor for the actual cleaning in operation and stopped again after the actual cleaning, the cleaning units 20 dismantled and the tread units 14 mounted again. Subsequently, the driving device 1 is put back in the operating mode.
  • the driving device 1 or the endless conveyor 10 is preferably moved so that the cleaning unit 20 moves with the surface 21 in its upper position downwards.
  • the cleaning stage 20 is allowed to pass once or more from the upper level E2 to the lower level E1.
  • switching the shuttle from an operating mode to a cleaning mode allows the endless conveyor to be driven at the same or different speeds as are common in operating mode, for example, faster or slower, jerky or toggling, up and down.
