Definitions
- the invention relates to a shield tail seal according to the preamble of claim 1.
- propulsion machines which temporarily support the cavity generated until the final expansion of the tunnel and are therefore referred to as Schildvortriebsmaschinen.
- the temporary support of the cavity takes place on the excavation front and on the lateral surface, while the final support is made by the built tunnel segments and an intermediate support medium around the tunnel segments.
- tailscale seals two types are used, which include elastomeric profiles or multi-row metal brushes with sealing grease filling between the rows of brushes.
- the elastomer profiles are either radially mechanically clamped or axially screwed (see, for example, JP 9-310583). This type of fastening can be trained only to a limited extent robust, since it is the effort to minimize the height of the seal construction. With radial clamping the profile cross section is restricted and loses strength. When screwed axially, the thicker profile loses contact with the mounting base as it makes the necessary deformation movements.
- the brush system has in the metal bristles and their attachment to the shield body a higher durability at relatively lower height.
- the weak point lies in the required use of the sealing grease, without which no watertightness is achieved.
- the pressure resistance of a grease channel with about 2 bar is not sufficient for today's tunnels. Only a duplication of the channels can help here. However, this results in a very long length.
- the essential aspect is the scheduled consumption of fat across the surface of the entire tunnel. This is a costly point, which also has the disadvantage that the bond between the support medium and the tunnel surface is impaired.
- the invention has for its object to provide a shield tail seal, which is mechanically stable and wear-resistant and has a high pressure resistance against high and low viscosity media.
- the rigid metallic base part can be highly rigidly connected to the shield tail.
- the sealing contact between the shield tail and the tunnel rings is made by the metallic ribs and the elastomer body.

- the elastomeric body may be made of cast polyurethane.
- the contact surface of the elastomer-metal compound may have a rib structure.
- the adhesive surface of the vulcanization can be increased without changing the radial height.
- the ribs of the sealing body may be arranged so that they are aligned axially with the spaces between the ribs of the base part.
- ribs of the sealing body can be arranged between the ribs of the base part. In addition, they can rest on the free end of the base part on the ribbed bottom.
- the length of the seal and the space to be bridged by the elastomeric body between the ribs of the base part and the ribs of the sealing body is kept so small.
- the base part carries on its outer shell an annular groove and / or an annular bead which engages in the assembled state in a complementary annular bead and / or annular groove on the inner surface of the shield tail.
- the base part can be connected to the shield tail via screws, which pass through radial bores of the base part.
- the assembly is thereby on the one hand handier and on the other hand, a local replacement of worn areas of the seal is facilitated. Since the screw connection is only used for fixation, but does not have to absorb any axial forces, it is subject to only minimal mechanical stress.
- an emergency seal may be provided, which consists of a fastened before the free end of the shield tail of the shield tunneling machine ring with a movable sealing body.
- the ring in turn comprises ring segments each of a rigid metallic base part and the movable sealing body also ring segments of an elastomeric sealing lip.
- the elastomeric sealing lip is radially inwardly displaceable and / or pivotable by an annular, inflatable by a pressure medium tube.
- the emergency seal forms a redundancy to the main seal. During tunneling, this emergency seal is not active. However, deposits of mortar and other debris on the main seal can interfere with safe operation.
- the emergency seal is activated by filling pressure medium into the inflatable tube. This then inflates and shifts the elastomeric sealing lip inwards so that it closes the gap at the transition between shield and tunnel lining.
- the emergency seal only offers a restraint function. After activating the emergency seal, no appreciable propulsion movement is possible.
- the emergency seal can have another function. By obstructing the gap to the tunnel lining, an annular channel is created opposite the shield tail seal, which can be additionally injected by the sign interior with another sealing fluid.

- the elastomeric sealing lip is fixed so one-sided form-fitting and can perform a pivoting movement around the piping. In addition, a simple installation and replacement is possible.
- the annular, inflatable by a pressure medium hose in the unpressurized state is folded as a flat profile in the cross-sectional profile and arranged in an annular groove of the shield tail or the rigid metallic base part.

Description
The invention relates to a shield tail seal according to the preamble of claim 1.
For underground tunneling in unstable soils propulsion machines are known, which temporarily support the cavity generated until the final expansion of the tunnel and are therefore referred to as Schildvortriebsmaschinen. The temporary support of the cavity takes place on the excavation front and on the lateral surface, while the final support is made by the built tunnel segments and an intermediate support medium around the tunnel segments.
At the transition between shield and tunnel lining there is a parting line in which relative movements take place in spatial directions. The relative path changes can be several centimeters here, without the groundwater or the viscous, not yet hardened support medium must pass through the joint. The elastic closure between the shield and the tunnel structure takes over the shield tail seal.
Since the support medium is injected locally into the annular gap between the tunnel lining and the surrounding soil simultaneously with the shield advancing movement, local pressure peaks prevail in addition to the global water pressure, which must be securely sealed off. As tailscale seals, two types are used, which include elastomeric profiles or multi-row metal brushes with sealing grease filling between the rows of brushes.
Both types have weak points. The elastomer profiles are either radially mechanically clamped or axially screwed (see, for example, JP 9-310583). This type of fastening can be trained only to a limited extent robust, since it is the effort to minimize the height of the seal construction. With radial clamping the profile cross section is restricted and loses strength. When screwed axially, the thicker profile loses contact with the mounting base as it makes the necessary deformation movements.
The brush system has in the metal bristles and their attachment to the shield body a higher durability at relatively lower height. The weak point lies in the required use of the sealing grease, without which no watertightness is achieved. In addition, the pressure resistance of a grease channel with about 2 bar is not sufficient for today's tunnels. Only a duplication of the channels can help here. However, this results in a very long length. The essential aspect, however, is the scheduled consumption of fat across the surface of the entire tunnel. This is a costly point, which also has the disadvantage that the bond between the support medium and the tunnel surface is impaired.
The invention has for its object to provide a shield tail seal, which is mechanically stable and wear-resistant and has a high pressure resistance against high and low viscosity media.
This object is achieved with a shield tail seal according to the preamble of claim 1 by the features of this claim.
Further developments and advantageous embodiments will become apparent from the dependent claims.
The rigid metallic base part can be highly rigidly connected to the shield tail. The sealing contact between the shield tail and the tunnel rings is made by the metallic ribs and the elastomer body. The ribs provide for the mechanical stability and the elastomer body for the seal against the medium. The differential pressure resistance is ensured by the interaction of metallic ribs and elastomer body by the metallic ribs form a reinforcement of the elastomer body. By vulcanization of the elastomeric body to the base part a continuous pressure-tight and mechanically stable connection is achieved in all relative movements between these two parts without otherwise conventional screw. A use of sealing grease is not required.
Der Elastomerkörper kann aus gegossenem Polyurethan bestehen. The elastomeric body may be made of cast polyurethane.
As a result, a very accurate mass production of individual segments is possible.
The contact surface of the elastomer-metal compound may have a rib structure.
As a result, the adhesive surface of the vulcanization can be increased without changing the radial height. Furthermore, the ribs of the sealing body may be arranged so that they are aligned axially with the spaces between the ribs of the base part. Furthermore, ribs of the sealing body can be arranged between the ribs of the base part. In addition, they can rest on the free end of the base part on the ribbed bottom.
The length of the seal and the space to be bridged by the elastomeric body between the ribs of the base part and the ribs of the sealing body is kept so small. When applying the ribs of the sealing body on the free end side of the base part on the ribbed bottom created after the Vulkanisationsverbindung here an elastic metal connection between the base part and the movable rib. In this way, all forces required at the same time free mobility are transferable.
According to one embodiment, the base part carries on its outer shell an annular groove and / or an annular bead which engages in the assembled state in a complementary annular bead and / or annular groove on the inner surface of the shield tail.
In this way, forces between the shield tail seal and the shield tail are transmitted positively in both axial directions.
Preferably, the base part can be connected to the shield tail via screws, which pass through radial bores of the base part.
The assembly is thereby on the one hand handier and on the other hand, a local replacement of worn areas of the seal is facilitated. Since the screw connection is only used for fixation, but does not have to absorb any axial forces, it is subject to only minimal mechanical stress.
In addition, an emergency seal may be provided, which consists of a fastened before the free end of the shield tail of the shield tunneling machine ring with a movable sealing body. The ring in turn comprises ring segments each of a rigid metallic base part and the movable sealing body also ring segments of an elastomeric sealing lip. The elastomeric sealing lip is radially inwardly displaceable and / or pivotable by an annular, inflatable by a pressure medium tube.
The emergency seal forms a redundancy to the main seal. During tunneling, this emergency seal is not active. However, deposits of mortar and other debris on the main seal can interfere with safe operation. In this case, the emergency seal is activated by filling pressure medium into the inflatable tube. This then inflates and shifts the elastomeric sealing lip inwards so that it closes the gap at the transition between shield and tunnel lining. The emergency seal only offers a restraint function. After activating the emergency seal, no appreciable propulsion movement is possible.
The emergency seal can have another function. By obstructing the gap to the tunnel lining, an annular channel is created opposite the shield tail seal, which can be additionally injected by the sign interior with another sealing fluid.
Each annular segment of the emergency seal of an elastomeric sealing lip may comprise on one side a piping, which is fastened in a groove of the metallic base part or a groove formed between the metallic base part and the shield tail.
The elastomeric sealing lip is fixed so one-sided form-fitting and can perform a pivoting movement around the piping. In addition, a simple installation and replacement is possible.
Preferably, the annular, inflatable by a pressure medium hose in the unpressurized state is folded as a flat profile in the cross-sectional profile and arranged in an annular groove of the shield tail or the rigid metallic base part.
The elastomeric sealing lip is almost flush with the inner surface of the shield tail. In this position, it has no contact with the tunnel lining and covers the circumferential groove in which lies the flat hose.
