Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a light barrier in a coin device after the Claim 1.
It is known to arrange light barriers in several places in coin devices. A Photocells are known to consist of a transmitting and a photosensitive Receiving element, and the receiving element registers, if that of the transmitting element, For example, a transmitting diode, outgoing light is interrupted. So such a photoelectric barrier z. B. as presence sensor in a Münzprüfgerät be used.
Many coin validators have a money changer associated with them, usually coin storage tubes contains in which coins of lower values are sorted and out which coins are paid out as change. It is for the impeccable Operation required to monitor the level in coin tubes. For one thing a minimum level has been determined as well as a maximum level. In the former Case, it must be ensured that the operator of a machine is indicated, that a bill of exchange return is not possible (direct price). In the second case must Overfilling the tube can be prevented to jamming the coins avoid. It is also known, also between the lower and upper end of a Münztube a light barrier to order. The latter serves to increase the level in correct the tube if necessary, if the actually measured not with the registered matches. The sorting into and the payment of coins from a coin tube is monitored by a tube counter. It can happen that this monitoring is faulty. It is therefore necessary that in the memory of the Processor for the coin machine to correct each existing number of coins.
In case of insufficient function of the transmitting element, such as a failure or a short circuit or other fault, this is the receiving element counted as a cover by a coin or other object. In the Correction of tube counters therefore leads to incorrect values.
From US 5,458,536 a circuit arrangement has become known for activation and interrogation of a plurality of light barriers for a plurality of coin tubes of a Money changer. The photosensitive elements of a coin tube are with a Detection line connected, so that the number of query lines the number of Coin tubes corresponds. The activation lines for the transmitting diode are so switched that all photocells of a level for all Münztuben with a common activation line are connected. That way is one matrix-like control and interrogation of the photocells possible what the circuit complexity minimized.
The invention is therefore based on the object, a light barrier in one To run coin device so that their function is monitored.
This object is solved by the features of claim 1.
In the light barrier according to the invention, the input of the transmitting diode to a Monitoring circuit connected, in turn, with a control and evaluation device connected is. The signal of the photosensitive receiving element will not be processed if it is below or above a given Voltage band is located.
For energy saving reasons and to extend the service life, it is customary, the Transmitting diodes of a light barrier with coin validators not continuously with To apply voltage, but only from time to time for a short time. For this is uses an activation line, possibly via a switching transistor, the transmitter diode connected to a voltage source. Only in this case, the transmitter diode begins To give off light, for example in the infrared range. If the photosensitive Receiving element is not covered, this outputs an output signal. in the In other case, this outputs no or another output signal, the corresponding in the control and evaluation device is processed. If at the diode a short circuit or an interruption, the potential changes at the input of the Transmitting diode and lies outside of a voltage band, which is normally complied with when the transmitter diode is operating correctly.
If, as usual, a multiplicity of light barriers are used in a coin device, it is conceivable to provide a single monitoring circuit and by this in accordance with the activation of the transmitter diodes to the respective photocell monitor.
The invention is preferably applicable in one embodiment of the invention the level measurement in coin tubes. Therefore, with the aid of the invention Effectively avoid errors when correcting a tube counter.
Another application provides according to the invention that the light barrier for Diameter determination is used in a coin validator.
Finally, it is also conceivable, the monitoring circuit according to the invention a photoelectric sensor to determine the end position of an engine to apply, the the issue of coins from the coin tubes accomplished.
An embodiment of the invention is described below with reference to a drawing explained in more detail.
The single figure shows a circuit example according to the invention.
In the figure, a light barrier is shown, consisting of a light-emitting Diode D1, the z. B. emits infrared light, and a photosensitive transistor Tl. Such a light barrier is z. B. provided on a coin tube of a Money changer for determining the level of coins in the coin tube. Usually Each coin tube has two or three such light barriers. But it is also conceivable, such a light barrier for determining the presence of all To provide coins in a coin device or to determine the end position a motor for a payout device from a coin tube or the like.
Such photocells are not permanently switched on, but periodically. The connection is made via a switching transistor T2, which has a resistor and connected to an activation line A1. The activation line is connected to a suitable voltage source. This applies to the diode D1 a Voltage U1, wherein a portion of the voltage across the resistor W2 drops. The photosensitive Transistor T1 is connected to an output line Q1 connected to a control and evaluation device, not shown, leads. The control and evaluation device asks in time with the activation of the transmitting diode D1, the line Q1 to determine if the distance between transmitter diode D1 and transistor T1 free or interrupted by an object.
With a point between the resistor W2 and the anode of the diode D1 an evaluation AW connected. This determines the potential at the said point, that with intact diode D1 within a certain bandwidth emotional. If, however, when activating the diode D1 is above or Measured below this bandwidth lying potential is via a line Q2, which is connected to the control and evaluation device, a corresponding Signal delivered. This signal ensures that the output signal of the transistor T1 is not scored because it may be a false signal. is z. B. no obstacle in the light barrier, but is a transistor T1 Signal emitted, which corresponds to the presence of an obstacle, would enter Wrong signal issued. For example, a level would be displayed for a coin tube, the in truth does not exist.
