Abstract

A light emitting element drive device capable of always outputting the lowest voltage satisfying the drive condition and having a high light emission efficiency and a low power loss. A mobile device using it is also disclosed. LED’s (20-1 to 20-n) requiring different voltage for light emission are connected in parallel and there is provided one or more LED drive devices (10) for driving the LED’s. The LED drive devices (10) include drive circuits (13-1 to 13-n) connected to the corresponding LED’s so as to current-drive the corresponding LED’s with the luminance based on the set value and power supply circuits (14, 15) for judging the drive voltage value required for the highest light emission among one ore more LED’s driven for light emission and supplying the drive voltage of at least judged value to a plurality of LED’s in parallel.
