Abstract

Die Erfindung betrifft eine Anzeigevorrichtung (1), durch deren Anzeige (4), welche bereichsweise transparent schaltbar ist, der dahinter befindliche Hintergrund (31) erkennbar ist. Derartige Anzeigevorrichtungen (1) finden bisher in beispielsweise Kraftfahrzeugen (2) keine Anwendung, da die ständig wechselnden Lichtverhältnisse, insbesondere im Hintergrund (31) der Anzeige (4), die Ablesbarkeit beeinträchtigen. Zur Lösung dieses Problems schlägt die Erfindung vor, dass die Anzeige (4) einen ersten schaltbaren Filter aufweist, welcher zwischen einer im Wesentlichen diffusen, zumindest teilweisen Transmission und einer im Wesentlichen transparenten, zumindest teilweisen Transmission hin- und her schaltbar ist. Als erster Filter (10) ist ein PDLCD (11) bevorzugt. Daneben ist ein Verfahren zum Betrieb der erfindungsgemäßen Anzeigevorrichtung (1) Gegenstand der Erfindung.
