The coating material may be a liquid, e.g. Example, paint, in particular paint, or a coating powder which is sprayed onto a coating article and then permanently connected by heat treatment with the article. The spray device may be a handgun or a machine-held automatic spraygun.

US 2003/059523 A1 a spray coating device with a control device according to the preamble of claim 1 is known, by which electrical energy can be supplied via an electrical line to an electrical spraying device. The spray device is designed for spraying coating material onto an object to be coated and has at least one high-voltage electrode for electrostatically charging the coating material. Further, the controller of the conventional spray coating apparatus is configured to set at least one coating operation parameter. Furthermore, the control unit may further comprise an optical display device for optically displaying at least coating operation information. Furthermore, a remote control is provided in the conventional spray coating, with the wireless control unit can be controlled

From the patent DE 34 02 945 C2 (corresponding to GB 2 153 260 A), an electrostatic hand spray gun for spray coating of articles is known, which has at least one high voltage electrode for electrostatic charging of coating material. On the spray gun is a voltage indicator with backward display panel for displaying an optical signal in Dependent on the respective voltage of the high voltage electrode provided. The spray gun may be designed to spray coating powder or to coat with coating liquid. The display panel of the voltage indicator may be observed by a person holding the spray gun during the spray coating operation without having to turn the head away from the line of sight of the spray and the object to be coated. The document describes an embodiment in which the voltage indicator is connected to a high voltage generator located in the spray gun. A light-emitting diode is connected via an electrical resistor to the primary side of a transformer, on the secondary side of a cascade circuit for generating a DC high voltage for the high voltage electrode is connected. The transformer and the light emitting diode are located in a transformer housing, which is arranged on the spray gun and releasably attached to the spray gun. However, a rapid separation of the Transforrnatorgehäuses from the spray gun is not possible because of electrical lines through which the housed in the transformer housing transformer is connected to the accommodated in the spray gun cascade circuit. The voltage indicator may include an incandescent lamp, a voltmeter, or a similar voltage-responsive optical display instead of a light emitting diode. The placement of a high voltage generator in the spray gun, with or without high voltage transformer on or in the spray gun, has the advantage that for the electrical power from a controller to the spray gun no high voltage cable, but a low voltage cable is required, which has a much lower weight and less stiffness as a high voltage cable. Prior to integrating a high voltage generator into a spray gun, the high voltage generator was housed in the controller, which is still possible but not normally done. Today, a low DC voltage is usually supplied from the controller via a low voltage line of the spray gun, and converted by a housed in the spray gun high voltage generator in a DC high voltage in the range between 4000 volts to 140000 volts or higher.

Even small changes in the high voltage value, the current flowing through the electrode high-voltage electron flow and / or per unit time funded amount of coating material, and / or per unit time conveyed amount of compressed air, for example, for atomization of the coating material or for forming the coating material spray, and / or changes of Air pressure, can lead to a deterioration of the coating quality. Therefore, a person should constantly observe the sprayed spray and the object to be coated. The voltage indicator in the cited prior art supports the person in that they at the handle of the spray gun the Spraying operation only starts after the high voltage is switched on, and that the person immediately stops the spraying process by releasing the trigger of the spray gun, if the high voltage fails or falls below a certain minimum value. The current voltage value can be recognized by the person if the voltage display device contains a voltmeter instead of LEDs.

It is advantageous, however, if the operator receives additional coating operation information, such as high voltage electrode current setpoint, high voltage electrode current feedback, maximum allowable high voltage limit, operating mode holding high voltage constant, and / or operating mode holding high voltage electrode current constant the operator must avert the alignment of his / her head from the spray and the object to be coated, for example, in the direction of the object to be coated on the control unit, to which operating parameters are adjustable and which is usually provided with display devices for said information.

A display device, which is permanently or permanently connected to the spray device with great difficulty, has the disadvantage that the spray device sometimes has to be cleaned with cleaning agent, for example with solvent, but the display device is not resistant to cleaning agent or solvents. A further disadvantage is that in the event of a defect in the display device, device replacement is expensive or, if the display device is permanently connected to the injection device, the entire spray device must be replaced. Yet another disadvantage is that when coating back surfaces or cavities of the article to be coated, the spray device must be moved very close or into the article, and sprayed coating material thereby reaches the display device. In such a case, it would be advantageous not to place the display device on the sprayer, but separate from the sprayer, but still in an area in front of the person where the indicator is from the person is observable without the person having to change or significantly alter their head direction directed towards the spray or article to be coated in order to observe both the spray and the object to be coated and the display of the display. For example, in such a case it may be advantageous to arrange the display device on the object to be coated or on a support provided behind or immediately adjacent to the object to be coated.

By the invention, the object to be achieved while avoiding the disadvantages mentioned to achieve the above advantages, in particular the spray coating device such that the local position, operability, cleaning ability, and life of the spray device is independent of the display device, but the display device also locally is independent of the control device and is thereby positionable at a location where its display panel is visible to a person whose face is directed directly or obliquely on the spray or the object to be coated, which is located in the spray.

This object is achieved according to the invention by the features of claim 1.
