Abstract

The pack consists of a semi-cylindrical cradle (2) with alternating sections having parallel lengthwise axes that are offset vertically to make for easier counting of contents. The cradle has two folding side wings (4), each with a cover (6) in the shape of a segment of a cylinder made to overlap one another to close the pack. The underside of the cradle has a flat ridge (16) to stand it on.

Description

Domaine de l'inventionField of the invention

The invention relates to reusable packaging for tokens or coins.

État de la techniqueState of the art

We know from FR-2,057,449 and DE-34,04,486 coin changers in which, for ease of counting, the parts are arranged in spikes, in series shifted alternately to left and right. The same principle is used in EP 1 262 927 for packages consisting of two semi-cradles, also exhibiting laterally offset series.

To lower the unit cost of these packages, we strive to achieve them by using as little as possible of plastic material. We must therefore achieve a balance delicate between the strength of the packaging and its thickness. As a result, especially if they are not completely filled, most packages offer a low resistance to shocks and twists, resulting in wasted time not negligible during handling and especially openings and closures. In addition, in EP 1 262 927, the presence of an axial hinge prevents a maintenance closes pieces or tokens and tends to topple them, preventing rational storage.

Résumé de l'inventionSummary of the invention

The object of the invention is the placing on the market packaging that is both robust and inexpensive, supporting high production rates, more stable and facilitating the counting by a good maintenance of the parts.

Un autre but de l'invention est de pouvoir avoir recours efficacement à des matériaux plastiques moins courants tels que le PLA.Another object of the invention is to be able to have effectively use less plastic materials currents such as PLA.

For this purpose, the reusable packaging according to the invention comprises
  • a semi-cylindrical cradle adapted to hold coins or tokens, formed by the alternation of a first series of semicylindrical sections of common axis, perpendicular to the plane of the coins or tokens, and a second series of sections semi-cylindrical common axis, set back from the first vertical series, the axes of the first and second series being parallel. Two folding wings are arranged longitudinally on both sides of the cradle. These wings, box, are articulated relative to the cradle. The free end of each of these wings is connected, in an articulated manner to a cylindrical segment lid formed by the alternation of a first series of segments of cylindrical segments of common axis, perpendicular to the plane of the pieces or tokens, and a second series of segments of cylindrical segments of common axis, set back vertically relative to the first series. The axes of the first and second series of segments segments are parallel, the covers corresponding to each of the wings being mutually nestable. The cradle includes a box seat extending over its entire length.

According to a preferred embodiment, the lids each comprise a longitudinal projection, the projections both lids being mutually nestable. These interlocking projections play both a role of closing and damper box.

According to an advantageous embodiment, at least one socket, male and female, is arranged on the series recessed segment segments of the lids.

According to another advantageous embodiment minus the sections of the second series of the cradle include coins or tokens over at least 180 °. In addition, the sections of the first series of cradle can also include coins or tokens over at least 180 °.

There is still preferably an interval between the bottom of the box and the basis of coins or tokens, when in place, of so that the box plays a damper role of shock.

At least one of the covers includes, so advantageous, a longitudinal tongue which allows a easy opening of the package after it has been closed.

Description détaillée de modes de réalisation particuliersDetailed description of particular embodiments

The reusable packaging for chips or coins shown in FIG. 1 essentially comprises a cradle 2 substantially semi-cylindrical to which are attached two wings 4 in box arranged longitudinally. The free end of the wings is connected to two lids 6 in cylinder segment.
All these elements (2, 4, 6) are articulated relative to each other so as to encircle the parts arranged in the cradle, the faces of these parts or tokens being thus in a plane substantially perpendicular to the axis of the cradle .

The cradle is subdivided into two series of semi-cylindrical sections alternately joined.

The cradle 2 also has the curvature or shape outer parts or tokens to which the packaging is intended. The pieces being stored in the cradle 2 open thus presenting itself in packets shifted alternately towards up and down. The number of pieces tokens per package is determined, of course, depending on the ease count.

The offset of the pieces placed in the cradle is found on the two lids 6, which are intended to fit together overlapping each other.

Each of the covers 6 thus comprises a first series of sections 12 of cylindrical segments of common axis Y 1 and a second series of sections 14 of segments of common axis Y 2 shifted upwards with respect to Y 1 when the package is , common here, in the deployed position. As shown in both figures, the portion of the cover corresponding to the first series 12 is here substantially flat when the package is open. It goes without saying, however, that its curvature may be more or less marked depending on the dimensions of the parts etc.

Fig. 2 allows to better apprehend another series of characteristics of the package of the invention.

The rigidity of the packaging and its impact resistance is ensured by a series of reinforcing elements acting both as longitudinal beams and as damping elements in the event of shock or drop of the package partially or completely filled. This arrangement makes it possible, all things being equal, to reduce the thickness of the plastic material used. The first of these elements is the seat 16, in box, the cradle, which extends substantially over the entire length of the package. According to the embodiment shown here, it is found that a slight gap (between 0.5 and 2 mm approximately) has been arranged between the bottom of the sections of the second series 10 and the bottom of the seat 16. The wings 4 play the same role: they each form a box substantially parallelepiped-shaped, open towards the inside of the package, likely to resume and mitigate shocks. The lids, finally, are each provided with a crest or crest 18 also in box which extends substantially over their entire length. It will be noted that the crest 18 also perform a closing function by fitting into one another at the moment when the packaging is closed. They may also in this respect have a slight inverted taper, as is known to those skilled in the art. The design of lids with crest 18 offers two advantages to conventional stud closures: they are stronger, which increases the rate of reuse of the packaging, and they allow a higher production rate. For ease of opening and closing, the overlap order of the lids is reversible (left to right or right to left).
An indirect advantage of these box elements is that there are large flat surfaces to place indications relating to the packaging, the type of parts for which it is intended, etc.
In addition to the presence of a crest 18, it can be provided that of plugs (not shown) to ensure the closure of the covers 6.
A disadvantage of stud closures is that the latter are easily deformed when closed, especially if they are poorly engaged. It becomes more and more difficult to open them without damaging them. There is therefore provided a simple but effective means to solve this problem, which takes the form of one or two gripping tabs 20 adjacent to the covers 6.
The cradle, the wings and the lids make maximum use of the elongation properties of plastics. It will also be noted that the cradle is deeper than that of previous packs: the lowest parts are embedded in at least 180 °. The same can be true for the highest rooms, which are then pressed down to nearly 180 ° or more.
Another advantage of the packaging of the invention is that its overall dimensions are reduced compared, in particular, with EP 1 262 927: its width corresponds to that of the packaged parts, and its height is limited by the integration of the crest 18 in the hollows of the lid. It is therefore easier to stack, and it can especially be made from a smaller plastic surface blank. For an identical mold surface, productivity will be increased. This increased productivity offsets a cost difference over more expensive polymers such as PET, APET or PLA. The latter, produced from lactic acid, is largely biodegradable and therefore less polluting for the environment.
