Description

The invention relates to a floor cleaning device having a hood-shaped, on its underside open, laterally closed at its top and a housing in this rotatable about a vertical axis spray arm having at least one open towards the bottom of the housing towards outlet for a cleaning medium, wherein in the top of the housing at least one aperture is arranged, is sucked through the air from the environment into the interior of the housing and which is completely or partially closed.

In DE 25 48 432 C2 a floor cleaning device is described in which through openings in the top of the housing through ambient air can enter the interior of the housing. The ambient air is sucked in by the rotational movement of the spray arm and ejected from it again through the open bottom of the housing. As a result, forms below the housing, an air cushion, which raises the housing and keeps at a distance to the surface to be cleaned.

This air cushion effect is permanently provided in the known floor cleaning device, as always ambient air is sucked through the openings in the housing when the spray arm rotates.

In another known floor cleaning device (US Pat. No. 5,970,574), which is of similar construction, the openings are made lockable. When open, however, there is a danger that emerge from the interior of the housing splashes of cleaning fluid to the outside.

In contrast, the present invention seeks to improve a generic floor cleaning device so that no spills of the cleaning fluid escape from the interior of the housing to the outside, while on the other hand ambient air can freely enter the interior.

This object is achieved in a floor cleaning device of the type described above according to the invention in that the opening or the openings is formed labyrinth or are.

Due to the fact that the path of the sucked ambient air changes several times in its direction, it is achieved that no splashes of the cleaning liquid escape from the interior of the housing to the outside, while on the other hand ambient air can enter unhindered via this angled flow path into the interior.

In a preferred embodiment, it is provided that for closing the openings a closure body is mounted on the housing, which along the top of the cross section of the openings more or less overlapping between an opening releasing openings and a closing position closing this is displaceable.

In particular, the closure body may be arranged on the inside of the upper side.

It can be provided that the closure body has at least one opening which, in the open position of the closure body, covers at least one opening of the housing and is displaced laterally relative to the latter in the closed position.

Preferably, a plurality of openings are arranged on the upper side of the housing. These can be arranged in groups, between which break-through areas remain.

It is advantageous if the apertures are distributed around the axis of rotation of the spray arm in the upper side of the housing, so that this is sucked evenly distributed over the circumference when sucking in ambient air.

Particularly advantageous is an embodiment in which it is provided that the closure body rotatably rests against the top, in particular, the axis of rotation of the closure body coincide with the axis of rotation of the spray arm.

It may be provided that the closure body extends substantially over the entire top of the housing.

Vorzugsweise ist der Verschlußkörper plattenförmig ausgebildet.Preferably, the closure body is plate-shaped.

It is advantageous if the closure body is displaceable between its open position and its closed position by a handling element arranged on the outside of the housing.

In a particularly preferred embodiment it is provided that the upper side is ribbed so that alternately outwardly and inwardly open grooves adjacent to each other, and that an opening in the partition between adjacent grooves is provided to form an opening at the top. This results in a flow path which passes through the adjacent grooves and the opening connecting them. These openings are located only in certain areas of the grooves in these partitions, so that there are areas with openings and areas without openings in the top. The areas with openings can be covered by the closure body more or less and thereby closed.

It is advantageous if the spray arm has at least one wing-shaped section which, in the manner of a propeller or fan, sucks in an airflow from the environment through the openings at the top and releases it again through the open underside of the housing.

The spray arm may in particular have two wing-shaped sections which are diametrically opposed on both sides of the axis of rotation.

The floor cleaning device 1 shown in the drawing comprises a hood-shaped or bell-shaped, circular in cross-section housing 2 with a circumferential, closed side wall 3, an open bottom 4 and a closed, slightly upwardly curved top 5. The housing can at its open bottom. 4 surrounded by a brush ring, not shown in the drawing be, which closes the interior at the lower end of the side wall 3 to the environment.

In the top 5 a bearing bush 6 is arranged with a vertical bearing bore 7 in the middle, in which a bearing shaft 8 is rotatably mounted. This protrudes downwards from the bearing bush 6 and enters there into the interior 9 of the housing 2, in this area, the bearing shaft 8 carries two diametrically opposed, radially projecting spray arms 10 which carry at their free ends in each case an outlet nozzle 11 whose Outlet direction in a direction parallel to the side wall 3 extends obliquely downward plane, namely opposite spraying arms 10 in the opposite direction, so that 10 rectified torques are exerted by a leaking from the outlet nozzle liquid jet on the spray arm 10, the spray arm 10 by the the bearing shaft 8 set the rotation axis formed in rotation. At the same time, a discharged through the outlet nozzle 11 liquid jet is directed through the open bottom 4 of the housing 2 against a surface to be cleaned, on which the floor cleaning device 1 is placed.

The spray arms 10 could theoretically be rotatably connected to the bearing shaft 8, which then rotates with the spray arms 10, but it is also possible to rotatably support the bearing shaft 8 in the bearing bore 7 and the spray arms 10 in a suitable manner on the bearing shaft 8 rotatable to store. In both cases, the bearing shaft 8 may also be adjustable in height, but this will not be detailed.

The supply of the cleaning liquid via a radially into the bearing bore 7 opening feed pipe 12, which is in communication with an annular space 13, which surrounds a radially recessed portion 14 of the bearing shaft 8. This annular space 13 is sealed by seals 15 at both opposite ends against the inner wall of the bearing bore 7 and communicates via a radial bore 16 with an inner bore 17 in connection, which in turn is connected via longitudinal bores 18 in the spray arms 10 with the outlet nozzles 11.

The top 5 of the housing 2 is ribbed and thereby has a plurality of mutually parallel, immediately adjacent, mutually outwardly and inwardly open grooves 19 which extend parallel to the supply pipe 12 and are rectilinear (Figure 2). These grooves 19 are separated by partitions 20, which form the side surfaces of the grooves 19, respectively.

In anderen Teilbereichen 23 der Oberseite 5 fehlen derartige Öffnungen 22, in diesen Teilbereichen 23 trennen also die Trennwände 20 benachbarte Nuten 19 vollständig voneinander, so daß in diesen Teilbereichen 23 keine die Ansaugung von Umgebungsluft ermöglichenden Strömungswege vorhanden sind (Figur 5).In partial areas of the upper side 5, openings 22 are provided in the partitions 20, each connecting an outwardly pointing groove 19 and the adjacent inwardly facing groove 19 and thus forming a flow path through which ambient air can enter the interior 9 of the housing 2 (Figure 6). In other sub-areas 23 of the upper side 5 are missing such openings 22, so separate the partition walls 20 adjacent grooves 19 completely separate from each other in these sub-areas 23, so that in these sub-areas 23, the suction of ambient air permitting flow paths are present (Figure 5).

The sub-regions 21 and 23 are each formed by adjoining circular sectors extending between the bearing bush 6 on the one hand and the side wall 3 on the other hand and alternate, the opening angle of such a sector-shaped portion is 30 ° in the illustrated embodiment.

In the interior 9, a closure plate 25 is rotatably mounted on a bearing bush 6 concentrically surrounding, optionally integrally formed with the bearing bushing 6 bearing ring 24 which applies tightly against the inner wall of the top 5 and this covers almost completely. In this closure plate 25 are sector-shaped cutouts 26 with an opening angle corresponding to the opening angle of the portions 21 and 23, these cutouts 26 are separated by closed portions 27 from each other, which also extend over an opening angle of about 30 °. Thus, in the closure plate 25 cutouts 26 and closed portions 27 from, these being arranged so that the cutouts 26 depending on the angular position of the closure plate 25 on the bearing ring 24 either with the open portions 21 in the top 5 come to cover or with the closed portions 23, also any intermediate position is possible. This makes it possible, optionally, to close the open portions 21 of the top 5 completely or partially. In order to turn in this way, the closure plate 25 in different angular positions, this carries on its upper side a pin 28 which protrudes through a circumferential slot 29 in the top 5 and serves as a handling element.

The spray arms 10 carry wing-shaped widenings 30, which generate a flow of air during rotations of the spray arms in the manner of a propeller or fan that directs ambient air into the interior 9 in the open portions 21 through the openings 22 and then this ambient air through the open bottom 4 of the Housing 2 returns. As a result, an air cushion forms in the region of the inner space 9, by which the floor cleaning device 1 is kept at a distance from the surface to be cleaned.

This air flow can be controlled by the closure plate 25 is brought via the pin 28 in different angular positions, in which it more or less covers the open portions 21 and thereby changes the available flow of air for the air flow.
