Description

The invention relates generally to railways, in particular for trams or trains, according to the preamble of claim 1.

Rails of this type are already known, for example from the document EP 1 217 126 . It is therefore known to arrange them in engravures and to fill the engravures with an elastic material, for example a resin, to fix and electrically isolate the rails and dampen the vibrations.

The rails are supported on the resin and undergo the passage of the train or tramway forces vertical but also transverse. The transverse forces tend to rotate the rail about a longitudinal axis, especially if, for acoustic or vibratory reasons, a soft resin is used. This rotation is particularly troublesome for guiding the train or tram.

The document EP-A-1217126 discloses a railroad for a guided vehicle, of the type comprising a concrete support and at least one pair of groove rails secured to the support. Each rail is at least partly inserted in a longitudinally arranged engravure in the support and is embedded in a fixing resin projecting laterally on each side of the rail. The rails of this known railway are distinguished from earlier rails by a height less than 100 mm and a width, the height being less than 70% of said width.

The document FR-A-2,708,296 relates to a rail-track for guided vehicle lanes. This rail-track comprises a mushroom forming in its lower part a running surface, a flap delimiting with the mushroom a groove, a pad having two wings, and a core connecting the mushroom and the flap with the pad. This rail-track is distinguished from previous rails by the fact that the running surface of the mushroom has a rounded portion on each of its lateral edges and a flat central portion of a width greater than two thirds of the total width of the surface of the mushroom. rolling.

The document DE-C-70438 relates to a grooved rail with an asymmetrical head and a sole, the asymmetrical head and the sole being connected to one another by a core, one of the two lateral faces extending in a plane corresponding to the transverse median plane relative to to the width of the sole.

In this context, the present invention aims to overcome the defect mentioned above.

To achieve this goal, the railway according to the invention comprises the features which are set forth in the characterizing part of claim 1.

The invention will be further defined in dependent claims.

Other characteristics and advantages of the invention will emerge clearly from the description which is given below, by way of indication and in no way limiting, with reference to the appended figures, among which:
  • the figure 1 is a perspective view of a railway track according to the invention, showing in section in a plane perpendicular to the longitudinal direction the rails of the invention arranged in the engravures,
  • the figure 2 is a rail view of the figure 1 in section perpendicular to the longitudinal direction, corresponding to a first embodiment of the invention,
  • the figure 3 is a view similar to that of the figure 2 for a second embodiment of the invention, and
  • the figure 4 is a view similar to that of the figure 2 for a variant of the second embodiment.

The grooved rail shown on the figure 1 extends in a longitudinal direction. It includes, as shown in figure 2 , a lower part forming a sole 10 of elongate shape in a transverse direction, an intermediate portion forming a core 20, and an upper part forming a first transverse side a mushroom 30 and a second transverse side opposite the first a bib 40, the flap 30 and the mushroom 40 defining between them a groove 50 open on an upper side.

An upper face 31 of the mushroom, flat or slightly curved, constitutes a running surface intended to receive the tread of the wheels of a railway vehicle. The latch of these same wheels circulates in the groove 50 of the rail.

The core 20 is delimited on two opposite transverse sides by two concave lateral surfaces 21 of concavity facing outwards.

The rail rests on a flat bottom face 13 of the sole 10, parallel to the transverse and longitudinal directions.

According to the invention, the soleplate 10 is asymmetrical in a plane perpendicular to the longitudinal direction.

More precisely, it will be noted that the rail presents, considered in section in a plane perpendicular to the longitudinal direction as on the figure 2 a central axis 61 extending perpendicularly to the transverse direction and dividing the soleplate 10 into a first portion 11 on the mushroom side 30 and a second portion 12 on the flap 40 side.

The first and second portions 11 and 12 respectively have first and second transverse widths, and the first width is greater than the second.

De préférence, la première largeur est supérieure à la seconde de huit centièmes de la largeur transversale totale de la semelle 10.The first width is greater than the second by at least 4 hundredths of the total transverse width of the soleplate 10. Preferably, the first width is greater than the second of eight hundredths of the total transverse width of the soleplate 10.

For rails of common sizes, the first width is chosen to be at least 5 millimeters higher than the second. Preferably, the first width greater than 10 millimeters is chosen for the second.

The central axis 61 can be defined in different ways.

In a first embodiment shown on the figure 4 , the rail is inertial and has a core 20 which, seen in section in a plane perpendicular to the longitudinal direction, extends over a small transverse width about a main axis 64 itself perpendicular to the transverse direction. The core 20 is of comparable height or greater than that of the upper part of the rail.

L'axe central 61 correspondant alors à l'axe principal 64.The central axis 61 then corresponding to the main axis 64.

In a second embodiment, shown in the Figures 3 and 4 , the rail is non-inertial and has a web 20 much wider transversely than the inertial rail of the figure 2 . It can also be seen that this core 20 is of a height comparable to or smaller than that of the upper part of the rail.

In a first variant embodiment, represented on the figure 4 , the central axis 61 is the axis dividing the upper part of the rail so that the mushroom 30 is on one side of the central axis 61 and the groove 50 and the flap 40 on a second side of the central axis 61 opposite to the first.

L'axe central 61 définit alors sensiblement le point de jonction entre la gorge 50 et le champignon 30.The central axis 61 then substantially defines the point of junction between the groove 50 and the mushroom 30.

In a second variant embodiment shown in the figure 3 , the mushroom 30 and the flap 40 are between first and second axes 62 and 63 mutually parallel and perpendicular to the transverse direction.

Le champignon 30 présente un premier côté latéral extérieur 32 opposé à la bavette 40 et tangent au premier axe 62.The mushroom 30 has a first outer lateral side 32 opposite the flap 40 and tangential to the first axis 62.

La bavette 40 présente un second côté latéral extérieur 41 opposé au champignon et tangent au second axe 63.The flap 40 has a second lateral lateral side 41 opposite to the mushroom and tangential to the second axis 63.

L'axe central 61 est alors l'axe médian des premier et second axes 62 et 63.The central axis 61 is then the median axis of the first and second axes 62 and 63.

The invention is particularly suitable for a rail having a height perpendicular to the transverse direction less than 100 millimeters, and a transverse width greater than its height.

De préférence, le rail présente une hauteur de 85 millimètres environ et une largeur transversale de 120 millimètres environ, comme les rails illustrés sur les figures 3 et 4.Preferably, the rail has a height of about 85 millimeters and a transverse width of about 120 millimeters, such as the rails illustrated in FIGS. Figures 3 and 4 .

The rail of figure 3 comprises a mushroom 30 whose upper face 31 has a transverse width of about 56 millimeters. Its first outer lateral side 32 has a height of about 30 millimeters. It is perpendicular to the lateral direction.

The groove 50 has a transverse width of 36 millimeters, measured at its opening, and a depth of about 46 millimeters. It has a V-shaped profile whose tip is rounded.

The flap 40 has an upper face of about 19 millimeters width and its second lateral lateral 41 has a height of about 46 millimeters. This side is substantially perpendicular to the transverse direction.

The height of the first and second parts 11 and 12 of the sole 10 is about 18 millimeters. The first transverse width of the first portion is 66 millimeters and the second transverse width of the second portion is approximately 55 millimeters.

On notera que la seconde partie 12 de la semelle 10 est d'aplomb avec la bavette 40.Note that the second portion 12 of the sole 10 is plumb with the flap 40.

En revanche, la première partie 11 de la semelle 10 fait saillie transversalement vers l'extérieur par rapport au champignon 30.On the other hand, the first part 11 of the sole 10 protrudes transversely outwards with respect to the mushroom 30.

The rail of figure 4 is very close to that of the figure 3 and only the differences between the two rails will be described here.

Le second côté latéral extérieur 41 est incliné vers l'extérieur du rail à partir de la face latérale concave 21 correspondante de l'âme 20.The flap 40 is narrower than that of the figure 2 and has a transverse width of about 16 millimeters. The second lateral lateral side 41 is inclined towards the outside of the rail from the corresponding concave lateral face 21 of the core 20.

The groove 50 has a transverse width of about 41 millimeters, measured at its opening. Its side facing the mushroom 30 is substantially perpendicular to the transverse direction.

La face supérieure 31 du champignon 30 présente une légère inclinaison vers la gorge 50.The upper face 31 of the mushroom 30 has a slight inclination towards the groove 50.

The rail described above is applied to the constitution of a railway, according to the invention, for train or tramway. This track typically comprises a concrete block 70, two parallel engravures 71 formed in the concrete block 70, two rails 72 of the type described above each arranged in a different engravure 71, and an elastic material 73 filling the engravures 71, around the rails 72 and below it. The rails 72 are in continuous support on the elastic material 73 by their respective lower faces.

The rails 72 are oriented in the grooves so that the flaps 40 are on the inner side of the track, that is to say on the side of the other rail, and the mushrooms 30 on the outer side.

We will now explain the effect obtained due to the dissymmetry of the rail sole.

As mentioned above, the rail undergoes the passage of a railway train a vertical effort, and in some cases, a transverse force. This effort results for example from the strength of the wind blowing on the convoy. It is also particularly important in the curves of the track.

This transverse force is taken up essentially by the mushroom of one of the two parallel rails. In the case of a curve, this fungus is that of the rail outside the curve. For an effort created by the wind, the mushroom is that of the rail opposite to the direction from which the wind comes.

When considering the rail in section perpendicular to its longitudinal axis, this transverse force creates a moment of rotation M around a center of rotation C located in the plane of the wheel of the convoy rolling on said rail.

This plane, considered in section, approximately corresponds to the central axis 61 of the rail described above.

The moment M tends to pivot the first portion 11 of the sole 10 in the direction of a depression in the surface supporting the rail, and tends to rotate the second portion 12 of the sole 10 in the direction of a detachment of the surface supporting the rail.

This surface, in the embodiment of the figure 1 , is made of a flexible resin, offering a low resistance to the penetration of the first portion 11 of the sole 10.

The rail therefore tends to pivot about a longitudinal axis.

The rail of the invention has a sole of transverse width substantially identical to that of the rails of the prior art. This width is controlled by the need to take up and distribute the vertical forces experienced by the rail and by manufacturing constraints.

However, this width is distributed asymmetrically about the central axis, the first part of the sole, located on the mushroom side, being wider than the second side bib side. In the rails of the prior art, the soleplate is symmetrical with respect to the central axis, the first and second parts being of the same width.

This widening of the mushroom sole improves the stability of the rail and its rotational resistance resulting from the transverse forces. The first part of the sole being supported over a longer length, it can more difficult to sink into the underlying resin layer.

Surprisingly, tests have shown that a difference in width of 10 millimeters makes it possible to obtain a very satisfactory stabilizing effect, a difference of 5 millimeters being judged accordingly sufficient to obtain a significant effect.

It is then possible, with rails of this type, to use softer resins than in the prior art, having a better capacity for damping vibrations.
