Description

The invention relates to a method for folding a sheet into a folded sheet with at least 16 pages.

From the DE 33 12 931 C2 is already a method for producing at least 16 pages having brochures known from a sheet, which is passed through successively arranged Ausrichte- and conveyor tables, folding rollers and folding pockets and glue nozzles having folders at which the sheet is folded along fold lines, wherein before folding on At least a portion of the fold lines glue is applied and the folded sheet is cropped edge.

In the known methods, the Bogenfalzungen done in Taschenfalzwerken, which are arranged successively each perpendicular to each other. In one arrangement, two Taschenfalzwerke can be arranged one behind the other with the same transport direction, followed by a third folding unit in a right angle to the first two follows.

In addition to Taschenfalzwerken find when folding sheets and Schwertfalzwerke Z-folding and Pflugfalzwerke use.

The arrangement of the various folders to folders requires the frequent right-angle deflection of the folded sheets, thereby affecting the sheet processing speeds of the equipment. To increase the sheet speeds, it is therefore necessary to divide the stream of folded sheets into two streams of sheets to be folded further, which makes the system very complex in terms of apparatus.

In the CH -A-282 103 For example, there is disclosed a method of folding a sheet into a signature sheet of at least 16 pages, in which one immediately succeeding
  1. a) the sheet is folded around its center line transverse to its feeding transport direction, whereby a first folded sheet is formed with four sides,
  2. b) the first signature is folded around a fold line extending longitudinally of the feed transport direction, thereby forming a second signature with eight pages,
  3. c) the second signature is folded around a fold line transverse to the feed transport direction, thereby forming a third signature with sixteen pages.

Since second folded sheets are folded transversely to the feed transport direction to form the third fold sheet, the second fold sheet must be deflected. This reduces the average bow speed.

The object underlying the invention is to provide a method by which a folded sheet can be folded with at least 16 pages in a simple manner with high sheet processing speed.

This object is achieved by a method for folding a sheet into a folded sheet with at least 16 pages with the method steps according to claim 1.

The method according to the invention enables very high sheet speeds, since no deflection takes place from the feed transport direction until the formation of the third signature. The third folded sheet is relatively small and stable compared to the starting sheet, so that its deflection can take place at a very high line speed, with which then the formation of a fourth folding sheet can be performed.

Advantageously, the third folded sheet is pressed in the Zuführtransportrichtung before its deflection, whereby its deflection with the line speed and its orientation and its further transport to form the fourth signature can be precisely performed.

The folds are facilitated if perforations are already formed in the sheet along the fold lines extending in the feed transport direction.

When carrying out the method according to the invention, a pocket folder is used for the first fold, a plow folder for the second and third folds, a diverter table for the deflection and a knife folder for the fourth fold.

The two plow folding plants are advantageously combined on one and the same component. Between the Pflugfalzwerk and the Umlenktisch a small press is preferably arranged to flat pressed the third folded sheet and bring in accurate positioning on the Umlenktisch, so that there can still be a circumcision.

The cycle time can be reduced if the long side of the sheet is transverse to the feed transport direction, i. the arch is first folded around its longitudinal centerline.

An embodiment of the invention will be explained in more detail with reference to drawings. It shows:
  • 1 in a plan view of the course of Bogenfalzung,
  • Fig. 2 shows the sequence of Bogenfalzung of FIG. 1 in perspective and
  • Fig. 3 shows schematically in plan view a plant used for Bogenfalzung.

As shown in Fig. 1 and 2, the inserted sheet 11 has a transversely with respect to its transport direction 30 center line 21 which is parallel to the longitudinal side of the sheet 11, whereby two transverse fields are formed, each of which in turn a transverse center line 22a and 22b has. The sheet 11 has a center line 26 in the transport direction 30, whereby two lateral fields are formed, each of which in turn has a longitudinal center line 27a and 27b. The longitudinal centerlines 26, 27a and 27b are suitably perforated.

In a first folding step, the sheet 11 is folded around its center line 21 transverse to its feed transport direction 30, whereby a first folded sheet 12 with four sides is formed. Then, the first folded sheet 12 is folded around its feed line to the transport direction 30 longitudinal center line 26, whereby a second folded sheet 13 is formed with eight sides.

Subsequently, the second folded sheet 13 is folded around its center line 27a, 27b extending longitudinally of the feeding transport direction 30, whereby a third folded sheet 14 having sixteen sides is formed. These folds can be carried out at very high sheet transport speeds, wherein the third signature sheet 14 relative to the output sheet is relatively small and very stable by the folds, so that it is deflected at the high sheet transport speed at right angles in a forward transport direction and folded around its to the transport direction longitudinal centerline can form a fourth fold sheet with 32 pages, all at the constant constant sheet transport speed. The position of the signaturesheet 15 is not shown in FIG. 1, but in FIGS. 2 and 3. From Fig. 1 and 2, the superimposed fold lines are each recognizable by the assignment of the letters a and b.

As can be seen in part from FIGS. 1 and 2 and schematically from FIG. 3, the first folded sheet 12 is folded out of the starting sheet 11 in a pocket folder 33, into which the starting sheet 11 transversely, ie with its longitudinal side, advances. The pocket folder 33 delivers the sheet in the feed transport direction 30 to a combined component 34, in which two plow folders 34a, 34b are provided in the feed transport direction 30 one behind the other according to the arrangement, with which the second fold sheet 13 and the third fold sheet 14 are formed. The third folded sheet 14 then passes through a small press 35, whereby a flat stable third folded sheet is formed, which is then transported to the deflection and cutting table 36, where it is transported along a guide ruler 37 in exact alignment in the further transport direction 31, the Zuführtransportrichtung 30 is vertical. The trimmed third folded sheet 14 is then in the onward transport direction transported to a blade folder 38, on which the fourth folded sheet 32 pages is formed, which is then given in a known manner to a delivery 39 with a transport direction 32 which is parallel to the Zuführtransportrichtung 30, but opposite.

With the method according to the invention, compared to the conventional methods, the sheet transport speed can be doubled by the sheet transport direction remaining unchanged up to the third folded sheet. Since the sheet runs transversely into the pocket folder, the time between two consecutive sheets can be shortened.

In the described method, the first folded sheet 13 is folded around the center line 26 and then around the center line 27a, 27b to form the third folding sheet 14. However, it is also possible first to fold up or down around the line 27a and then another line 26 or 27b running in the feed transport direction 30. It may also be folded upwardly or downwardly about line 27b and then another line 26 or 27a in the feed transport direction.
