So, the security element appears uniform and without reason to the naked eye, but the pattern is clear when photocopy of the item.

- Application EP 0 614 133 describes a security document having a printed background comprising geometric elements containing sets of lines printed at a first density. This document also includes a reason cancellation printed at a second density. A copy of security document has the effect that the reason for cancellation appears prominently on the document, identifying the infringement.

- an object of the invention is to create a security element for securities improving the elements already known and requiring only a simple process and easy to implement.
- Another object of the invention is to provide a security element very difficult to copy and counterfeit with standard scanners and photocopiers modern and other equivalent devices but which can be easily printed with printing means current.
- the first embodiment of Figure 1 shows a security element 1, of generally circular shape, comprising a bottom formed of a plurality of elements geometric 2 to 8 which individually have a shape rectangular. To simplify the representation, only one part of the geometric elements has been referenced. These geometric elements are themselves formed of a plurality of parallel lines. According to the invention, the lines forming two neighboring geometric elements are not parallel but form an angle between them, for example 30 °, 45 °, 60 ° or 90 °.
- the geometric elements are printed with two different inks so that neighboring elements, like a checkerboard, are printed alternately with a conventional offset ink, and with an ink having a shine or a reflection effect of the light, such as metallic ink, ink optically variable, or an iridescent ink.
- the geometric elements 2, 4, 6 and 8 are printed with conventional offset ink, and the elements 3, 5, 7 with the ink having a shine and this pattern repeats all over the bottom of the security element 1. More generally, we can say that the elements whose lines are oriented in the same direction are printed with the same ink.
- the two inks used must have a tint base as even as possible, such as an ink gold (metallic) with brown offset ink, or silver ink with gray offset ink, or a gold with yellow offset ink.

- the optical effect obtained by this impression is as follows: when considering the printed item perpendicular to the printed surface, the element printed appears as a solid, while when one changes the angle of view (shift), the printed element splits in two parts and the pattern "checkerboard" appears by making bring out the individual geometric elements.
