Definitions
- the present invention relates to the field of mechanical engineering. she relates to a removal tool for spiral thread inserts according to the Preamble of claim 1 and the use of such a removal tool.
- the essence of the invention is a pull-out tip in the removal tool to be provided in the form of a steep truncated pyramid, which Press the pull-out tip into the threaded insert with the edges locked in presses in the thread insert and at the same time clamps it on the pull-out tip fixed so that it simply twisted out and securely on the pull-out tip can be pulled out while sitting through the inspection opening.
- a preferred embodiment of the removal tool according to the invention is characterized in that the pull-out tip has a square cross section has that the angle of inclination of the faces of the truncated pyramid is only a few degrees, preferably about 1.5 °, with respect to the vertical, and that the extension tip is made of hardened steel.
- the truncated pyramid becomes the pressure of the pull-out tip with sharp edges evenly distributed over the circumference on the thread insert. It is but also conceivable, a truncated pyramid with triangular, pentagonal or hexagonal base.
- the pull-out tip is preferably with the base body of the removal tool screwed, one for screwing the pull-out tip Fastening screw is provided which in through the base body a thread arranged on the pull-out tip is screwed in and on the Extending tip supports the opposite end of the base body.
- the pull-out tip is shaped like a truncated pyramid Section and an adjoining square section is divided when the pull-out tip with the square section rotatably in one Insert when seated, preferably over a hex section is rotatably inserted into the base body, and if the means for rotating the Removal tool include a hexagon piece of pipe.
- a preferred embodiment of the application method according to the invention is characterized in that the pull-out tip by striking the rear End of the removal tool is driven into the thread insert in such a way that the edges of the pull-out tip practically cover the entire insert Press in the depth at which the pull-out tip dips into the threaded insert.
- the gas turbine 10 comprises an inner part 13 with an inner part Rotor 14.
- the inner part 13 is arranged within a housing 11. Both in the housing 11 and in the inner part 13 are different Make (aligned) inspection openings 12 and 15 in the form of Through holes are provided, through which inside the gas turbine 10 components, e.g. Turbine blades can be inspected.
- the Inspection openings 12, 15 can be closed by sealing plugs 16, 17, in corresponding locking threads at the entrances to the inspection openings 12, 15 can be screwed.
- the main problem here is the closure thread 18 shown in FIGS. 2 and 3 at the entrance of the inner part 13 arranged inspection opening 15. In this closure thread 18 is a helical thread insert 19 of Helicoil® type inserted (screwed in), the must be replaced if damaged.
- FIG. 4a A preferred embodiment of such a removal tool is shown in Fig. 4a in partial longitudinal section.
- the removal tool 20 of FIG. 4a has a tubular, elongated base body that consists of several parts 23, .., 26 is welded together.
- At the front (in Fig. 4a right) end of the base body has a hexagon socket Recording 26 in which the actual pull-out tip 28 together with an insert 27 releasably inserted and fastened in the inserted state can.
- a hexagon section 31 is formed on the insert, which leads to the hexagon socket the receptacle 26 fits. In this way, the insert 27 and the Extending tip 28 connected to the base body 23, .., 26 in a rotationally fixed manner.
- the receptacle 26 is welded to one end of an intermediate piece 25.
- the other end of the intermediate piece 25 is in turn one end with one Tube 24 welded.
- At the other end of the tube 24 is a hexagonal piece of pipe 23 welded on, to be attached with a key can, if a torque on the base body 23, .., 26 on the pull-out tip 28 is to be transferred.
- the pull-out tip 28 has a square cross section and consists of hardened steel. It has two sections over the length, namely a square section 28.2 with constant external dimensions over the length and an adjoining section in the form of a steep truncated pyramid 28.1, the side faces of the vertical only a few Degrees, preferably about 1.5 °.
- the pull-out tip 28 is with the Square section 28.2 rotatably in use in a corresponding recess 27.
- the pull-out tip 28 has a threaded blind hole 29 at the rear end the one from behind through the hollow base 23, .., 26 fastening screw 22 can be screwed in with a threaded section 30, around the pull-out tip 28 and the insert 27 with the base body 23, .., 26 too connect.
- the fastening screw 22 is supported at the other end with a Screw head 22 'on the hexagonal pipe section 23.
- the fastening nut 22 is with its shaft 32 in the through hole of the intermediate piece 25th guided.
- An elongated circular cylindrical can loosely over the knurled screw head 22 ' Impact adapter 21 are slipped with the axial blows with a Hammer or the like. Can be transferred to the removal tool 20.
- the removal tool shown in Fig. 4 is very simple, but has been used in the field well proven.
- Removing a damaged thread insert from inside one 5 is carried out as follows: The removal tool 20 with the pull-out tip 28 through the corresponding inspection opening in the threaded insert 33 to be replaced at the entrance of another Inspection opening 34 introduced (Fig. 5a). The pull-out tip 28 is then with Hammer blows on the impact adapter (21 in Fig. 4a) almost completely in the Threaded insert 33 driven in (Fig. 5b). The sharp edges on the truncated pyramid Part 28.1 of the pull-out tip 28 cut into the thread insert 33, so that the pull-out tip 28 sits in the threaded insert 33 in a rotationally fixed manner. A torque is then applied to the hexagonal tube piece (23 in FIG.
- the threaded insert 33 can be unscrewed. Is critical the angle of inclination of the side faces of the truncated pyramid 28.1. He must be selected (small) so that the radial forces on the thread insert 33 are sufficiently small so that the friction of the threaded insert 33 in its Seat is kept to a minimum and the thread insert 33 successfully can be turned out. The thread insert remains after unscrewing 33 sit on the pull-out tip 28 and can be removed with the removal tool 20 the inspection opening are pulled out.
- pull-out tip 28 Since the pull-out tip 28 is interchangeably attached to the removal tool 20, it can be easily replaced if its edges are damaged during use should have been. A replacement is also necessary if thread inserts 33 different diameters are to be expanded because of the pull-out tip 28 designed due to their shape to the respective diameter have to be.
