Claims (6)
- Washing machine drum, which is mounted in the interior of a washing liquid bath so as to be rotatable about an at least approximately horizontal axis and has a hollow cylindrical casing (1) and two end faces (3, 4), wherein an opening for the receiving of washing is disposed in the casing (1) or in one of the end faces (3), the said washing machine drum having drainage ribs (2) disposed on the inside of the drum casing (1), the said drainage ribs being in the form of separate components and being secured to the drum casing (1) in such a manner that at least their axially directed end region (22) abuts against the drum casing, and the said drainage ribs extending at least approximately parallel to the drum axis, characterised in that the drum casing (1), in the entire region below the edge region (22) of the drainage ribs, has a diameter that is reduced relative to the region (12) outwardly of the drainage ribs (2) and, in this way, has elevations (14) that are directed into the interior of the drum.
- Washing machine drum according to claim 1, characterised in that the drum casing is provided with inlet openings (11) in a region (13) below the drainage ribs (2) and in that this region (13) has substantially the same diameter as the region (12) externally of the drainage ribs (2).
- Washing machine drum according to claim 1 or 2, characterised in that the elevations (14) have a trapezoidal cross-section.
- Washing machine drum according to at least one of claims 1 to 3, characterised in that the drainage ribs (2) have a tub-shaped surface contour, which is closed on all sides except for possible outlet openings (21), and extend in the longitudinal direction only over a part region of the drum casing such that the elevations (14) forms a closed frame.
- Method for producing a washing machine drum according to at least one of claims 1 to 4, characterised in that a drum casing (1), which is formed from a cylindrical sheet metal part that is possibly provided with holes, is expanded to a larger radius, wherein at least the regions that are situated below the edge regions (22) of the drainage ribs (2), which are subsequently secured to the drum casing (1), are hollowed out.
- Method for producing a washing machine drum according to claim 5, characterised in that the connecting seam (15) of the cylindrical sheet metal part is disposed in a flank (141) of an elevation (14) that is disposed below a drainage rib (2).
