Abstract

L'invention concerne un nouveau mélange à utiliser conjointement avec un pansement protecteur, aux fins de traitement topique de blessures avec saignement, notamment des blessures avec saignement légères et bénines. Ce mélange comprend: une quantité efficace sur le plan pharmaceutique d'un agent anesthésique, de préférence de la benzocaïne ou de l'hydrochlorure de pramoxine; une quantité efficace sur le plan pharmaceutique d'une composition antibiotique comprenant de préférence de la polymyxine B ou de la néomycine ou de bacitracine ou une combinaison de ces composants et une composition antiseptique; au moins une quantité efficace sur le plan pharmaceutique d'un composé hémostatique. Le mélange peut être incorporé dans un pulvérisateur liquide comprenant des composants formant un film et au moins un solvant, les composants acceptables sur le plan pharmaceutique susmentionnés étant dispersés ou solubilisés dans celui-ci. Le mélange liquide forme un film adhérant à la blessure et recouvrant celle-ci quand il est pulvérisé sur celle-ci. Enfin, la FDA considère ces principes actifs antibiotiques comme étant des principes sûrs et efficaces: - ces deux ingrédients sont destinés seulement à des produits de combinaison en raison de leur efficacité limitée contre certains micro-organismes lors qu'ils sont utilisés seuls. Afin d'empêcher une surutilisation de la néomycine, la FDA limite le médicaments à des onguents et des crèmes, les formes galéniques les plus probables pour des petites blessures et tous les agents anti-microbiens OTC doivent être étiquetés pour des utilisations à court terme. Les cinq principes considérés comme étant efficaces à titre d'essai seulement dans des produits de combinaison sont l'alcool éthylique (26,9%), l'eucalyptol, le menthol, le salicylate de méthyle et le thymol.
