Definitions

  • the present invention relates to lighters, in particular multi-flame lighters with jet flame.
  • lighters in particular multi-flame lighters with jet flame.
  • Such a lighter is already known from document US-A-6 152 727.
  • Multi-flame lighters with jet flame are known in the art, especially two-lighters.
  • lighters with two jet flames arranged in parallel are known in the prior art in order, for example, to light wide cigars.
  • lighters with jet flame nozzles are known in which a pure fuel gas flows out of one or more openings and burns with the surrounding air.
  • burner nozzle lighters are known as jet flame lighters.
  • two-bladed lighters having a flame nozzle and a burner nozzle.
  • the lighter according to the invention has at least three jet flame nozzles arranged in a head.
  • the lighter according to the invention is characterized in that the jet flame nozzles are arranged so that the axes of the jet flame nozzles approach each other at least in sections. It can thus be achieved that, when a flame in one of the nozzles extinguishes, it is re-ignited by the one or the other two nozzles. Furthermore, the temperature of the flames in the proximity region becomes particularly high.
  • At least the axis of at least one of the at least three jet flame nozzles at least partially approaches at least the axes of two other jet flame nozzles. This ensures that each of the generated flames is within the range of at least approaching two other flames which, in the event of a flame being extinguished, can safely re-ignite them.
  • the lighter according to the invention has at least three jet flame nozzles whose jet flames approach each other in pairs during operation and preferably intersect. This can ensure that even if a drop of water extinguishes one of the flames, the corresponding nozzle can be quickly dried by the gas flow and the heat of the other two flames and work again.
  • the gas stream strikes at least two adjacent flames, which ignite the gas stream immediately.
  • the flames preferably converge in a common area.
  • the axes of at least three of the flame or burner nozzles are preferably substantially in a conical surface.
  • the jet flame nozzles can be at a height in the cone surface to ensure that none of the flames tower over the others too much.
  • the axes of the burner nozzles may converge substantially at a single point where the at least three flames may touch or merge into a single point.
  • the three jet flame nozzles lie essentially on the edges of a three-sided pyramid and point together to the top of the pyramid, in which the three flames unite in operation.
  • the jet flame nozzles can be arranged rotationally symmetrically about an axis. This ensures that the common flame assumes a symmetrical shape.
  • Such a three-flame embodiment in which the three jet flame nozzles are arranged rotationally symmetrically on a conical surface and in which the three flames converge in one point, is shown for example in FIGS. 1 and 2. In the crossing point particularly high temperatures are achieved.
  • the jet flame nozzles can also be arranged on a half cone to provide, for example, a same basic shape for a three- or four-flame embodiment without additional design or tooling.
  • the axes of the at least three jet flame nozzles can touch a common cone surface at a same height of the conical surface and form a common angle with the cone axis substantially.
  • the axes of the at least three jet flame nozzles do not meet a single point, but are skewed.
  • the tip of one flame merges with the base of an adjacent one of the other flame. From the arrangement of the converging flames results in a common flame, which leads by the inclination of the jet flame nozzles to a rotation of the common flame.
  • a plan view of such a three-flame jet flame nozzle arrangement is shown in FIG.
  • the at least three jet flame nozzles are combined in a single integrally embodied jet flame nozzle block.
  • the number of components in the lighter can be reduced, which lowers the manufacturing cost.
  • the lighter further comprises a control valve with which individual or groups of jet flame nozzles can be actuated.
  • a control valve for controlling individual jet flame nozzles can help to reduce the gas consumption of the burning lighter in calm conditions and thus to increase the life of the lighter.
  • At least three of the jet flame nozzles can be designed as burner nozzles.
  • Burner nozzles have the disadvantage of higher gas consumption compared to jet flame nozzles.
  • a voteilhaftes lighter can be realized.
  • the flame nozzle can be arranged for example in the middle of the burner nozzles and activated by opening a lid. Upon actuation of an ignition slide, the three burner nozzles are ignited and extinguished when the ignition slide is released while a pilot flame continues to burn while the lid of the lighter remains open. The pilot light is extinguished when the lid is fired by blocking the gas supply.
  • the lighter has a cover for protecting the jet flame nozzles or burner nozzles against contamination.
  • the cover is designed to protect against dust, dirt and damage to the burner nozzles.
  • the lighter according to the invention may be provided with a refilling device to refill a gas tank of the lighter.
  • the lighter may be further provided with flame height regulation to adjust the flame height to the needs of a user.
  • the lighter may be provided with a conventional ignition device such as a piezoelectric igniter.
  • Other Ignition devices such as battery ignitors may also be used in the lighter of this invention.
  • Figure 1 shows a side and front plan view and a bottom and top plan view of a three-flame lighter according to the invention.
  • Figure 2 shows an upper plan view of an embodiment of a three-flame lighter according to the invention.
  • FIG. 3 shows an upper plan view of another embodiment of a three-flame lighter according to the invention.
  • FIG. 4 shows an upper plan view of a further embodiment of a four-flame lighter according to the invention.
  • FIG. 1 shows a side and front plan view and a bottom and top plan view of a three-flame lighter according to the invention.
  • the lighter 2 has a housing on which a lid for the protection of jet flame nozzles 4, 4 ', 4 "movable
  • the lighter has three jet flame nozzles 4, 4 ', 4 ", which are designed as burner nozzles, and are arranged in a head 3 of the lighter.
  • the lighter is provided with a piezoelectric igniter 10, which can be seen in both side views.
  • the lighter is further equipped with a central gas valve 8 to simultaneously supply gas to the three jet flame nozzles.
  • the ignition device 10 and the gas valve 8 are actuated via a central ignition slide 16.
  • the gas valve 8 and then the piezoelectric ignition element 10 is actuated to ignite an emerging from the burner nozzles gas-air mixture.
  • the burner nozzles each produce pointed flames, which are shown as black triangles that unite at point 6.
  • a refill valve is indicated by the circle 14.
  • the three burner nozzles 4 are arranged as arranged in an equilateral triangle. The burner nozzles are thus arranged substantially symmetrically about the longitudinal axis of the lighter, with respect to 120 ° rotation.
  • FIG. 2 shows an upper plan view of an inventive, three-flame lighter.
  • the burner nozzles 4, 4 ', 4 " are in a top view as slightly inclined Cylinder shown.
  • the top view illustrates the arrangement according to the invention of the burner nozzles 4, 4 ', 4 ".
  • the arrow indicated in the upper burner nozzle illustrates the direction of the flame, the circle 18 indicates an ignition electrode for a piezoelectric ignition device plane.
  • FIG. 3 shows an upper plan view of another embodiment of a three-flame lighter according to the invention.
  • the burner nozzles 4, 4 ', 4 " are shown in a plan view as slightly inclined cylinders, the plan illustrating another arrangement according to the invention of the burner nozzles 4, 4', 4".
  • The, indicated by the small arrows 20 flames of the burner nozzles 4 do not meet in a single point, but are substantially tangential to the direction indicated by the arrow 22 circle.
  • the tip of one flame merges with the base of another adjacent flame and produces a common flame rotating in the direction of arrow 22.
  • the flame of burner nozzle 4 approaches the tip of the base of the flame of burner nozzle 4 ".
  • the flame of burner nozzle 4" approaches with its tip the base of the flame of burner nozzle 4 '.
  • the flame of burner nozzle 4 'with its tip approaches the base of the flame of burner nozzle 4.
  • FIG. 4 shows another embodiment of a four-flame lighter according to the invention in an upper plan view.
  • the four burner nozzles 4, 4 ', 4 ", 4"' face one another, so that the flames lie substantially at a point in the middle above the plane of the drawing approach each other or converge. At high flame heights, the flames will touch in the middle. In this embodiment, each of the flames approaches each other.
  • the circle 18 indicates an ignition electrode for a piezoelectric igniter.
  • Multi-flame such as 5, 6 or 7-flame lighters are also intended to fall within the scope of the present invention.
  • 6-flame embodiments for example, three of the jet flame nozzles can each lie on one conical surface, while the other three lie on a second, different conical surface.
