- Cover device for a locking mechanism (11), having a key (16, 28) and having a cover plate (2, 36) which can be moved on a plate (4, 39) between a first position, which covers an actuating member (5, 34), and a second position, which releases the actuating member (5, 34), and having means (19) for securing the cover plate (2, 36) in the first position, characterized in that the means (19) mentioned are arranged in a side wall (37) of the cover plate (2, 36), this side wall (37) being arranged on the outside of the plate (4, 39) mentioned and forming a narrow side of the cover plate (2, 36), and in that the key (16, 28) has, for the arrangement of tumblers (19) on a side surface (30), a corresponding plurality of protruding pins (17, 31).
