Die erfindungsgemäße Elektrohandschleifmaschine mit den Merkmalen des Anspruchs 1 hat den Vorteil, daß durch den am Schleifteller ausgebildeten Kantenschutz die Außenkanten des aus weichem Material bestehenden Schleifmittelträgers beim Schleifvorgang, insbesondere im Bereich von Kanten und Abstufungen des Werkstücks, sehr gut geschützt werden und durch den Überstand des umlaufenden Schutzglieds über den Schleifmittelträger zu keinem Zeitpunkt des Schleifvorgangs an dem Werkstück anstoßen können. Damit wird der Verschleiß des Schleifmittelträgers extrem reduziert und die Standzeit des Schleifmittelträgers wesentlich erhöht.
