Definitions
- the invention relates to an air spring arrangement, consisting at least of a cover, rolling piston and air bellows made of elastomeric material, which is usually provided with an embedded strength member, the two bellows ends being attached to the cover on the one hand and to the rolling piston on the other hand, whereby the air bellows encloses a volume-elastic air chamber, wherein the air bellows also forms two loops, namely:
- a second loop which is connected to a rolling area of the lid.
- air spring in a double loop construction is known in particular in the automotive field of application, reference being made, for example, to the following documents: DE 198 42 733 A1 DE 100 50 028 A1, DE 101 03 493 A1, WO 00/77417 A1 and US 3,876,193.
- the air springs Due to the axis in which the air springs are installed according to the state of the art, the air springs must provide the axis-specific gimbals.
- One of the components, the rolling piston or cover, is fixed to the body.
- the other component is firmly connected to the handlebars of the axle (chassis connection).
- the design principle according to the state of the art allows only small angle settings. Either there is a component collision, a cut-out. Buckling of the air bellows or compressive stresses in the strength member of the bellows that could damage life.
- the object of the invention is to provide an air spring that allows higher angular adjustments without buckling, colliding with components or building up compressive stresses in the strength member, with the proviso that an air spring can be installed much deeper in the axis and resulting higher demands on the gimbals.
- the second loop lies on the lid with respect to the support points only in the maximum deflection and rebound position.
- this new construction means that no compressive stresses occur in the air bellows in the area of the cover also prevents lateral forces resulting from this.
- the decrease in lateral forces results in a decreasing load on the suspension elements of the axle parts and thus also an improvement in driving comfort.
- the decrease in the transverse forces results in a decrease in the resulting frictional forces in the sealing and contact elements.
- FIG. 1 shows a representation of a double loop construction, the second loop resting on two support points;
- FIG. 2 shows a representation of a double loop construction according to section line AA (FIG. 1);
- Fig. 3 is an illustration which is rotated by 90 ° compared to the double loop construction according to Fig. 1;
- Fig. 4 is an illustration of a double loop construction along section line A-A (Fig. 3).
- FIG. 1 shows an air spring arrangement 1 with the essential basic components, namely air bellows 4, cover 2 and rolling piston 3.
- the cover which is fixed in place on the body, can be designed as a pressure vessel, possibly in connection with a valve (DE 198 19 642 A1).
- the rolling piston is firmly connected to the handlebar of the axle.
- the first loop 7 of the air bellows slides along the outer wall 10 of the rolling piston during the deflection and rebounding, reference being made in particular to FIG. 2.
- the second loop 8 of the air bellows corresponds circumferentially to the rolling area of the cover.
- the roll-off area therefore has the meaning of a roll-off surface which is usually of an arcuate (concave) design.
- Cone surfaces (DE 101 03493 A1) are also common.
- the second loop 8 on the cover 2 only rests on two points 11.
- the second loop rolls over the support points 11.
- the two support points are arranged at the same distance from one another, in particular in the circumferential direction of the cover.
- the support points 11 are formed by contouring the cover 2, in particular in the form of a step contour, reference being made in this regard in particular to FIG. 3.
- FIG. 2 shows the area of the second loop 8 without contact with the cover 2.
