Wird der Pkw benutzt um zur Arbeit zu fahren, dann fährt er in das Parkhaus der Firma oder in ein öffentliches Parkhaus ein, der Parkzeitschreiber erhält einen Impuls und sendet gleichzeitig sein Kennzeichen an die Impulsschranke. Fährt in Pos.5 der Pkw wieder in das Stadtgebiet ein, erhält der Schreiber einen Impuls mit Kennung und der Parkzeitschreiber wird wieder aktiviert. Pos.6 kann ein Impulsgeber sein, der jeden Parkzeitschreiber im Stadtgebiet zusätzlich aktivieren, falls ein Wagen über nicht zugelassene Wege wieder das Stadtgebiet befährt. Es kann aber auch ein Impuls erfolgen der eine Haltezeit im absoluten Halteverbot auf die Ebene 3 schreibt oder beim Überqueren einer Kreuzung bei Ampelstellung rot Ebene III markiert. Hält der Wagen in Pos.7 , z.B. vor einem Geschäft, in einem Parkhafen oder auf einem Platz für welchen keine Impulsschranke vorgesehen ist, wird eine Straßenparkzeit auf Ebene 2 geschrieben. Diese Parkzeit kann mit der Behörde vereinbart werden, sollte aber so bemessen sein, dass ein Dauerparken auf Straßenflächen uninteressant wird. Bei Pos.8 fährt der Wagen wieder in sein Standort-Parkhaus ein, der Parkzeitschreiber erhält einen Impuls, wiederum mit Kennung und sendet gleichzeitig sein Kennzeichen an die Impulsschranke, die ebenfalls das empfangene Kenneichen schreibt. Bei der zweijährigen Vorführung des Kfz beim TÜV werden die Haltezeiten übernommen, an die Kfz-Steuerstelle zur Auswertung weitergegeben.
