- the figure 7 represents another electrical multipole switch device, for example of the contactor type, comprising a housing 10 and also capable of integrating into such a protection and control assembly.
- Each casing 10, respectively 30, is of generally parallelepipedal shape with a front face 11, respectively 31, which may comprise an operating member opposite to a rear face 12, respectively 32, which may comprise means for fixing the apparatus on a frame , a profile and / or a plate.
- Each housing 10, respectively 30, has a substantially horizontal upstream face 13b, 14b, respectively 33b, 34b, opposite a substantially horizontal downstream face 13a, 14a, respectively 33a, 34a.
- the switchgear devices have conductive strips 19a, 19b, respectively 39a, 39b, rigid, of identical rectangular section and of sufficient size for the circulation of a high power current, for example greater than or equal to 32A at 400V.
- the conductive strips are metallic, in particular copper.
- the downstream horizontal face 13a, 14a, respectively 33a, 34a, and the upstream horizontal face 13b, 14b, respectively 33b, 34b, of a housing 10, respectively 30, are formed by several horizontal planes offset relative to one another. to the other.
- the downstream horizontal face consists of a downstream bearing surface 13a, respectively 33a, substantially horizontal and a downstream connection zone 14a, respectively 34a, shifted substantially horizontally.
- the downstream conductor strips 19a, respectively 39a come out of the downstream connection pad 14a, respectively 34a.
- the upstream horizontal face consists of an upstream bearing surface 13b, respectively 33b, substantially horizontal and an upstream connection area 14b, respectively 34b, offset substantially horizontally.
- the upstream conductor strips 19b and 39b respectively come out of the upstream connection zone 14b, respectively 34b.
- the downstream support pads 13a and upstream 13b, respectively 33a and 33b are more close to the rear face 12, respectively 32, of the housing 10, respectively 30, and are further apart than the downstream connection pads 14a and upstream 14b, respectively 34a and 34b.
- the downstream and upstream connection areas of the boxes 10, 30 are arranged to each receive a removable power terminal block 40 so as to allow the electrical connection of the connection strips 19a, 19b, 39a, 39b with external conductors.
- a power terminal block 40 shown in FIGS. Figures 5 and 6 , obviously has as many power terminals as poles of the switch device on which it must be mounted. It is of parallelepipedal shape with two opposite horizontal faces 41,49 and a vertical front face allowing access to clamping screws 42 of the terminals.
- the width of a terminal block 40 is substantially equal to that of the housings 10,30.
- each connection strip 19a, 19b, respectively 39a, 39b is inserted into a corresponding opening 44 when one of the horizontal faces 41,49 of a connection terminal block 40 is pressed against a connection pad 14a, 14b, respectively 34a, 34b, a housing 10, respectively 30.
- each terminal of a power terminal block 40 comprises a clamping screw 42 cooperating with a clamping cage 43 located in the corresponding opening 44 of the terminal .
- the screw 42 is tightened, the cage 43 is deformed so that it comes to grip the conductors present in the opening 44.
- This clamping makes it possible to make an effective electrical connection of the connection strip with any other conductor previously inserted into the opening 44, and further allows to fix the terminal block 40 against the housing of the switch device.
- At least one of the horizontal faces 41, 49 of the power terminal block 40 has 45.

- these holding members are constituted by one or more pins 45 present on a front portion of the horizontal face 41 of the power terminal block 40.
- these pins are introduced into as many corresponding cavities 15a, 15b, respectively 35a, 35b, present on a front portion of the connection pads 14a, 14b, respectively 34a, 34b, of the housing.
- these cavities 15a, 15b, 35a, 35b are of complementary shape to the lugs 45.
- connection bars engaged in the openings 44 and before the tightening of the screws 42
- final positioning of the terminal block 40 is then done by sliding towards the rear of the horizontal face 41 along the connection pad 14a, 14b, 34a, 34b as far as the stop against the bearing pad 13a, 13b, 33a, 33b.
- the lugs 45 are engaged in the corresponding cavities 15a, 15b, 35a, 35b contributing to the maintenance and positioning of the terminal block against the housing 10,30.
- the removable power terminal block 40 is advantageously symmetrical with respect to a median vertical plane so that a same terminal block 40 can indifferently be mounted downstream but also upstream of the boxes after reversal.
- the horizontal face 41 has two lugs 45 disposed on either side of the median vertical plane.
- the housing 10 shown in figure 7 further comprises by construction a recess of a height H on a front portion of the downstream horizontal connection pads 14a and upstream 14b, in front of the outputs of the downstream connection bars 19a and upstream 19b.
- the connection strips are then preferentially flush with the recess.
- This recess makes it possible to form downstream horizontal connection pads 16a and upstream 16b.
- These downstream 16a and 16b upstream connection pads are therefore further removed from the rear face of the housing 10 and closer to each other than the downstream 14a and upstream 14b connection pads.
- the downstream cavities 15a and upstream cavities 15b are in this case placed in front of the downstream 16a and upstream connection pads 16b of the casing 10, so as to be able to receive holding lugs belonging to connecting elements or wedges.
- a connecting element 80 consists of a piece of parallelepiped-shaped insulating material. It has two horizontal faces 84,86 and a rear face 81. First and second conductive connection pins 82 and 83, which may be of similar section to the connection strips 19 of the housings, exit perpendicularly from the first horizontal face 84, along the vertical axis X in the same direction.
- the connecting element 80 On the front of the second horizontal face 86, the connecting element 80 comprises holding lugs 85 which can cooperate with cavities 15a, 15b, 25a, 25b of the housing 10,20.
- the connecting element 80 comprises cavities 87 which can cooperate with lugs 45,45 'of power terminals 40,40'.
- first pins 82 and the second pins 83 thus each comprise three separate pins. Inside a connecting element 80, the first pins 82 are electrically connected to one of the second pins 83 either directly pole by pole, or differently depending on the desired logic function (see below).
- the height H of a connecting element 80 ( figure 8 ) is substantially equal to the height H of the recess corresponding to the offset between a connection pad 14a, 14b and a connection pad 16a, 16b ( figure 7 ).
- the depth of a connecting element 80 is substantially equal to that of a bonding pad 16a, 16b.
- the connecting element 80 is therefore insertable between the housing of an electrical appliance and a removable power terminal block.
- this connecting element 80 completely occupies the space created by the recess, so that its first horizontal face 84 is at same horizontal level as the connection range 14a, 14b, thus not impeding the establishment of a power terminal block 40, but contributing instead to its maintenance.
- the pins 82, 83 are preferentially flush with the rear face 81 of the connecting element 80, as indicated in FIGS. Figures 2 and 9 , which makes it possible, when positioning a connection element 80 in the assembly, to press the pins 82, 83 in front of the connection strips 19a, 19b, 29a, 29b. The pins and contact strips in contact will then be clamped in openings 44 of power terminals 40.
- connection element 80 When there is no connection element 80 to be positioned on a connection area 16a, 16b of a housing 10, the space created by the recess between the connection and connection areas can then be easily filled by a hold 70 (see figure 10 ) of appropriate size, that is to say of a height H, of a depth equal to that of the connecting range and a width substantially equal to that of the housing 10, to improve the maintenance of a power terminal on the housing.
- a protection and control assembly 5 represented in the figures 1 and 2 includes three electrical devices switches.
- the purpose of this assembly 5 is to create a motor starter assembly capable of easily providing, without additional wiring, a logic function, such as an inverter function (inversion of the motor direction of operation), a speed selection function (PV / GV: low speed / high speed), a star-delta start function, or others.
- a logic function such as an inverter function (inversion of the motor direction of operation), a speed selection function (PV / GV: low speed / high speed), a star-delta start function, or others.
- a first apparatus comprising a housing 10, and a second apparatus, comprising a housing 20 identical to the housing 10, are of the contactor type.
- a third device comprising a housing 30, is of the circuit breaker type.
- the first apparatus and the second apparatus are arranged next to each other in the same horizontal plane. They can be either juxtaposed against each other, or preferentially slightly spaced from each other to allow the insertion between the two of a mechanical locking module used in particular in the case of an inverter function.
- the third device is arranged in a vertical plane above one or indifferently the other of the first two devices.
- the housing 30 is juxtaposed on the housing 10 (but could also be on the housing 20) in a direction parallel to the vertical axis X of the terminal strips so that the downstream support surface 33a of the housing 30 is pressed against the upstream bearing surface 13b of the housing 10.
- the overall size of the assembly 5 is minimal since the housings of the electrical devices 10,30 are directly placed one on the other, without space between them.
- a removable upstream power terminal block 60 is mounted against the upstream connection zone 34b of the housing 30 of the third device.
- the tightening of the screws of the upstream terminal block 60 makes it possible to fix it against the housing 30 and to electrically connect the upstream connection strips 39b to upstream outer conductors.
- two removable 50.50 'downstream power terminals are mounted against the downstream connection pads 14a, respectively 24, of the housings 10, respectively 20.
- the tightening of the screws of these downstream terminal blocks 50 , respectively 50 ' makes it possible to fix them against the housing 10, respectively 20, and to electrically connect their downstream connection bars to downstream outside conductors.
- a power terminal block 40 ' is placed upstream of the housing 20 of the second apparatus.
- the difference between the support range and the connection area of the same horizontal face of all the housings is designed so that, when the housing 30 of the third device is juxtaposed on the housing 10 of the first device by their range of support, the space existing between the downstream connection range 34a of the housing 30 and the upstream connection zone 14b of the housing 10 can accommodate a removable power terminal block 40 common to the housings 30 and 10.
- the holding lugs 45 of this terminal block of common power 40 are associated either with the cavities 35a, 35b of the housing 30, or with the cavities 15a, 15b of the housing 10.
- This common terminal block 40 makes it possible to electrically connect the downstream connection bars 39a of the housing 30 with the upstream connection strips. 19b of the housing 10, but also allows the fixing of the housings 30 and 10 between them.
- the downstream strips 39a of the housing 30 of the third device are slightly offset from the upstream strips 19b of the housing 10 of the first device in a direction perpendicular to the vertical axis X of the bars.
- the downstream bars 39a of the housing 30 are offset rearwardly with respect to the upstream strips 19b of the housing 10 (see FIG. figure 2 ). This offset is sufficient not to hinder the juxtaposition of the housings 10 and 30 during assembly of the assembly 5, but nevertheless allows, once the screws 42 of the common terminal block 40 tight, that the downstream bars 39a of the third device overlap and are flush with the upstream strips 19b of the first device so as to form a sufficient electrical contact area, in accordance with the electric current likely to flow in the protection and control assembly 5.
- the common terminal block 40 and the power terminals 40 ', 50, 50' and 60 are all identical to the removable power terminal block 40 described above.
- the housings 10 and 20 are interconnected by an upstream connecting element 80 and a multipolar downstream connecting element 80 'so as to provide, for example, an inverter function.
- the upstream link element 80 is inserted into the upstream link regions of the boxes 10 and 20 so that the first pins 82 of the upstream link element 80 are in contact with the upstream strips 19b of the box 10 and the second pins 83 of the upstream connecting element 80 are in contact with the upstream strips 29b of the housing 20.
- the common terminal block 40 thus makes it possible to clamp together the pins 82, the upstream strips 19b of the casing 10 and the downstream strips 39a of the casing 30.
- the terminal block 40 'allows it to clamp together the pins 83 and the upstream strips 29b of the casing 20 .
- the downstream connecting element 80 ' is inserted into the downstream connection areas of the housings 10 and 20.
- the first pins of the downstream connection element 80' are therefore in contact with the downstream strips 19a of the housing 10 and clamped together by the terminal 50.
- the second pins of the downstream connecting element 80 ' are in contact with the downstream bars 29a of the housing 20 and clamped together by the terminal block 50'.
- connection pins inside the connecting elements 80,80 makes it possible to perform a logic function.
- the upstream link element 80 has a first pole of the first pins 82 which is internally connected to the same corresponding pole of the second pins 83, while the other two poles of the first pins 82 are inversely connected internally to the corresponding poles of the second pins 83.
- the poles of the first and second pins of the downstream link element 80 ' are connected internally directly one by one.
- the assembly 5 is extremely simple to perform and does not have a larger footprint (center distance, height, depth) than a standard set of three electrical appliances not including no such connecting elements.
- the assembly 5 can therefore easily integrate into an existing cabinet or cabinet with other electrical appliances.
- the figure 10 shows another example of a protection and control assembly according to the invention.
- This assembly 6 comprises a first device 30, for example of the circuit-breaker type, and a second device 10, for example of the contactor type, placed next to the first device 10.
- the assembly 6 comprises an upstream removable terminal block 60 for connecting the strips 39b upstream connection of the housing 30 of the first device with upstream outer conductors.
- the assembly 6 also includes a removable terminal block 50 for connecting the downstream connection strips 19a of the housing 10 of the second device with downstream outer conductors.
- the housings 10 and 30 are electrically interconnected by an S-shaped series link member 90 (see FIG.
- the first pins 92 are held in contact with the downstream bars 39a of the housing 30 through a removable terminal block 60 'and the second pins 93 are held in contact with the upstream strips 19b of the housing 10 through a removable terminal block 50'.
- Power terminals 50,50 ', 60,60' are identical and interchangeable.
- the assembly 6 makes it possible to quickly achieve a series association of two electrical devices (for example a circuit breaker / contactor) located next to each other without requiring special wiring.
- the housings 10 and 30 are not pressed against each other, so as to allow the insertion of the central portion 91 of the connecting element 90 between the two.
- the width of the central portion 91 is for example substantially equal to the width of a mechanical locking module used between two contactors, so as to standardize the differences between two electrical devices located next to each other.
- this arrangement makes it easy to connect and assemble the assembly 6, even when the housings 10 and 30 of the devices are previously mounted on their support, frame, profile or platinum.
- the connecting element 90 can then be mounted by the front face of the assembly and position with holding pins, before the various power terminals are then positioned and screwed to obtain the assembly 6.

Description
The present invention relates to a protection and electromagnetic control assembly allowing a combination of several multipolar electrical switchgear devices, in particular for producing an assembly comprising a plurality of electrical appliances such as contactor, circuit breaker or other similar electrical appliance. , usable in distribution or low voltage electrical control. The invention also relates to an electrical apparatus capable of forming part of the composition of such a protection and control assembly.
In an assembly intended for the protection and control of an electric motor (generally called a "motor starter unit") or of any other low voltage multipolar electric charge, a protective electric apparatus is frequently associated in cascade, such as a circuit breaker or fuse switch with an electrical control device, such as a contactor. It is also possible to add to this association other devices such as a protective thermal relay. In addition, it may be desired to associate several control devices in the same motor starter assembly so as to perform a logic function, in particular an inverter function.
We are looking more and more to install such an engine starter assembly as simply and as quickly as possible while maintaining a reliable electrical connection. For obvious reasons of cost, time saving during assembly / wiring and saving space in enclosures or electrical cabinets hosting the whole, it seeks in particular to remove any conductors (wires, bars) connection between the devices, to minimize the number of electrical connections to be made and to minimize the total size of the various associated devices. Furthermore, the mounted assembly must keep easy access for the connection of its power terminal blocks with external conductors, such as cables or bars.

According to another feature, the assembly comprises an upstream connection element whose first pins are in contact with the upstream connection strips of the housing of the first electrical appliance and whose second pins are in contact with the upstream connection bars of the housing of the second electrical apparatus. The assembly also comprises a downstream connecting element whose first pins are in contact with the downstream connection strips of the housing of the first electrical appliance and whose second pins are in contact with the downstream connection bars of the housing of the second electrical appliance. In order to perform an inverter function, the upstream link element connecting the upstream bars of the housings of two three-pole electrical appliances internally performs a function of inverting two poles of the electrical appliances.
According to another characteristic, the invention describes an assembly comprising a serial link element whose first pins are in contact with the downstream connection bars of the housing of a first electrical appliance and whose second pins are in contact with the bars of upstream connection of the housing of a second electrical appliance, positioned adjacent to the first electrical appliance.
Another object of the invention is to provide an electrical switch device adapted to be integrated into a protection and control assembly as described in the invention. This apparatus comprises a housing provided with upstream and downstream conductive connection strips respectively protruding along a vertical axis on an upstream and downstream horizontal connection area of the housing and which can be inserted into terminal block openings. removable power.

Each
Thus, each
In addition, to facilitate the guiding, positioning and maintenance of the power terminal blocks 40 on the
According to a preferred embodiment, these holding members are constituted by one or
The removable

In the case of three-pole devices, the

A first apparatus, comprising a
In the
Upstream of the
The difference between the support range and the connection area of the same horizontal face of all the housings is designed so that, when the
Advantageously, the

The downstream connecting element 80 'is inserted into the downstream connection areas of the
The internal wiring of the connection pins inside the connecting
With this advantageous arrangement of the connecting
It is also possible to design a protection and control assembly similar to the

The first pins 92 are held in contact with the
