It is an object of the invention to provide a comparison with the prior art simpler construction, which allows in a more effective manner, the desired resilient bias of the second support member relative to the first support member.
This object is achieved by a height-adjustable support for furniture, in particular tables, with a settable on a substrate first support element, a höhenbewegbaren relative to the first support member second support member for supporting a portion of a piece of furniture, in particular a table top and a spring element, which with the second support member the first support member connects such that it biases the second support member relative to the first support member substantially resilient, and is arranged so that its first end connected to the first support member relative to the ground at a higher level than its second end connected to the second support member is located, characterized in that the first support member on a first portion and a spaced from the first portion, arranged next to this and extending substantially in the longitudinal direction of the first support member longitudinally extending second portion has the second support member with a portion between the first and second portions of the first support member is located and the first end of the spring element is connected to the second portion of the first support element.
The invention provides a simple, yet effective and at the same time inexpensive construction for a height-adjustable support for furniture, in which a portion of the furniture supporting second support element is subjected to a bias by a spring element, and leaves in a particularly clever way a covert and their function not impairing arrangement of the spring element to. In addition, an undesirable lateral migration of the spring element is avoided with the help of the construction according to the invention in biasing the second support member in its upper end position, since the spring element is subjected to train; special design measures to guide the spring element and keep it in flight, are not necessary.
Preferred embodiments of the invention are indicated in the dependent claims.
Thus, the spring element should be biased to train, whereby the second support member is biased in the upper end position.
Zweckmäßigerweise greift das erste Ende des Federelementes an einem oberen Abschnitt des ersten Stützelementes und das zweite Ende des Federelementes an einem gegenüber dem oberen Abschnitt des ersten Stützelementes tiefer liegenden unteren Abschnitt des zweiten Stützelementes an.Conveniently, the first end of the spring element engages an upper portion of the first support member and the second end of the spring member at a lower relative to the upper portion of the first support member lower portion of the second support member.
Usually, a locking device for selectively fixing the second support member relative to the first support member is provided. In a development of the last-described preferred embodiment, the locking device has means for generating a frictional connection between the first and second sections of the first support element and the second support element. Thus, for fixing, the second support member is provided with a portion between the first and second portions of the first support member trapped. For this purpose, preferably, the first and second portions of the first support member each have a bore and the intermediate portion of the second support member extending in the direction of movement slot and the means for generating the frictional engagement is a screw which extends through the holes and the slot. The screw may be in screw engagement with the first or second portion of the first support member depending on which of these two portions is more remote from the head of the screw. Alternatively, it is also conceivable to secure the screw with a nut.
Usually, the first and second support members telescopically guided into each other tubes, of which preferably the tube of the second support member should be performed in the tube of the first support element.
Preferably, the first portion of the first support member should be formed as an outer tube and the second portion as an inner, extending substantially in the longitudinal direction of the support member bar, so that the tube of the second support member with a portion between the outer tube of the first support member and the inner bar clamped is.
Conveniently, the second end of the spring element can be anchored to a connecting element, which rests or is arranged at the lower end of the tube of the second support element.

The
Within the second
In the illustrated embodiment, the
