Description

Technical Field
The present invention relates to an improved apparatus for the production of fancy yarns.
Background Art
It is known that to produce fancy yarns, machines called twisters or spin-twisters are employed. These machines are made up of several adjacent production units, each comprising:
  • a yarn feeding group and/or a roving drafting group, taken from a reserve;
  • a yarn forming group, made up for example of one hollow spindle or two hollow spindles, mounted one above the other;
  • a delivery group positioned downstream to the yarn forming group;
  • a take-up group of the final yarn on tubes or cones. Such an apparatus is disclosed in GB1320405 A
All hitherto known machines with take-up of yarn on cones feature, for any production unit, the cone is below the yarn forming group and the delivery group, with the axis parallel and horizontal to the machine front side. Since the dimensions of the take-up group, in the direction of the machine front side, are larger than those of the other groups, the production units must be adequately spaced out one from the other, thus limiting, in the available space, their total number and consequently machine production capacity.
Besides the presence of the take-up group makes the machine considerably high and consequently it becomes difficult to operate on the upper groups.
Finally, it is also uncomfortable to operate on the take-up cones, located in the lower part of the machine.
As known, a need exists for machines producing fancy yarns that suit as much as possible to the different and changeable fashion requirements. Particularly, there arises a need for machines that can produce yarns with special effects (for instance yarns produced with two hollow spindles located one above the other) and taken up on cones, as well as traditional yarns (for instance yarns produced with one hollow spindle only) and taken up on tubes.
Disclosure of Invention
It is therefore a primary object of the present invention to provide an improved apparatus for the production of different types of fancy yarns. Particularly, it is object of the invention to supply an apparatus structured in such a way as to permit to easily and quickly change yarn production, i.e. from yarns with special effects to traditional ones and vice versa.
It is a further object of the invention to overcome the above mentioned disadvantages, when the yarn is taken up on cones.
Said objects are achieved with an apparatus in accordance with the accompanying claims.
The technical characteristics and the advantages of the present invention will become apparent from the following detailed description of a not limitative embodiment illustrated in the drawings.
Brief Description of Drawings
  • FIG. 1 is a schematic side view of an apparatus in accordance with the invention, with take-up of yarn on cone.
  • FIG. 2 is a schematic side view of an apparatus in accordance with the invention, with take-up of yarn on tube.
  • FIG. 3 is a schematic view of a hollow spindle arranged for taking up the yarn on tube.
  • Best Mode for Carrying Out the Invention
    With reference to FIGS. 1 and 2, a production unit 1 of an apparatus for the production of fancy yarns, according to the present invention, comprises the following parts supported by a first frame 10:
    • a reserve of yarns 11 and/or rovings or slivers 12 on cones or cops 13 and/or bobbins 14;
    • a feeding group and/or draft 15 of the yarns and/or rovings;
    • a first yarn forming group 16 comprising, in the illustrated example, a first hollow spindle 17 provided with a first flanged bobbin 25 of binding yarn 26;
    • a first delivery group, below the first hollow spindle 17 and comprising a first motorized cylinder 18;
    • a second yarn forming group 19, positioned downstream to the first delivery group and comprising a second hollow spindle 20 provided with a second flanged bobbin 27 of binding yarn 28 (FIG. 1) or a with a cop 29 for yarn take-up (FIG. 2) as better described hereinbelow;
    • a second delivery group, below the second hollow spindle 20 and comprising a second motorized cylinder 21;
    • a vertically movable ring 23 rail 22, as known in the art, along supports 24, located in the lower part of the frame 10.
    As shown in FIG. 1, in accordance with the invention, a second frame 30 is contemplated in front of the production unit 1. Particularly, said second frame 30 supports, for each production unit 1, a take-up group 32 - known in the art - comprising a cone 31, being its axis horizontally positioned and substantially parallel to the front side of the production unit 1. Each cone 31 is mounted loose on lateral supports 33 and rotates by means of a motorized cylinder 34 peripherally grooved to guide the yarn (not shown in the figures).
    Advantageously, so as to permit the maximum approach of the production units 1, compatibly with the dimensions of the feeding/drafting, yarn making and delivery groups, the take-up groups 32 (and therefore the cones 31) are positioned, on frame 30, on two overlapped rows.
    To remove the cones 35 once full, transporting means are contemplated comprising a motorized chain 36.
    A duct 40, located between the frames 10 and 30 and lying inside a footboard 41, is provided for the pneumatic conveyance of the yarn produced to the take-up cones 31.
    Functioning of the above described apparatus is substantially the following:
  • a yarn 100 is fed to the first hollow spindle 17 and subsequently to the second hollow spindle 20. Both hollow spindles are kept rotating by tangential belts, not shown in the figures. The resulting yarn 101 comes out of spindle 20 and is then conveyed via duct 40 to the take-up group 32 and to the cone 31.
  • In this operating condition of the apparatus, the ring 23 rail 22 does not operate and is kept at such a height as not to interfere with the lower hollow spindle 20.
    Additionally, the apparatus may also be used to produce yarns that do not require the second binding yarn 28, simply bypassing the second hollow spindle 20.
    Choosing the present solution it is possible to place the take-up groups 32 at an ideal height from the ground thus making all necessary operations extremely easy.
    In the embodiment, shown in FIG. 2, the lower hollow spindle 20 holds, instead of a bobbin with binding yarn, a tube 50. Additionally, the rail 22 has an alternate vertical movement, being each ring 23 substantially centered on the vertical axis of spindle 20.
    This permits to take up the yarn 102 coming out of first hollow spindle 17 on a cop 29, quite similarly to the ring spindles system.
    FIG. 3 illustrates in details the adaptation means that permit to install a tube 50 (traced with a broken line) on the lower hollow spindle 20 and to obtain the formation of the cop 29 (also traced with a broken line).
    Said means comprise a lower bushing 52 and an upper bushing 53, both fixed on the shaft 54 of the hollow spindle by means of threaded bolts, not shown in the figures. In each bushing 52,53, buttons 55,56 are arranged, displaced by 120° and subject to the action of a spring 57,58, for the engagement of the tube 50. In this way the centering of the tube 50 and the correct formation of the cop 29 are assured.
    In this operating condition of the apparatus, the take-up groups 32 on cones 31, previously described, do not operate and, simply removing the second bobbin 27, installing a tube 50 on the lower hollow spindle 20 and constraining the tube on the rotating base of the spindle, the machine with two hollow spindles is converted into a machine with one hollow spindle and one ring spindle.
    Finally, with an apparatus in accordance with the invention, it is possible to produce both yarns with special effects (particularly characterized by two binding yarns and taken up on cone), and traditional yarns (particularly characterized by only one binding yarn and taken up on tube).
    Additionally, providing each or several production units with independent motorizations, it is possible to use the apparatus to produce simultaneously the different kinds of yarn.
    The invention as disclosed is susceptible to several modification and variations, all of which will come within the scope of the inventive idea. Moreover, all of the details can be replaced by other technically equivalent elements.
