On fitting a cylinder pair ( 8.1-8.4 ) to the strip output side ( 3.1 ) of a segment ( 1 4 ), the adjustment movement thereof affects said side ( 3.1 ), and simultaneously the strip input side ( 2.1 ) of a subsequent section connected thereto.

Description

The invention relates to a strand guide of a continuous casting plant, comprising at least two segments, in particular roller segments, each having a strand input side and a strand output side and a pair of roller carriers carrying a number of support rollers extending over a support region, wherein the roller carriers are adjustable by means of hydraulic adjusting units in particular.

The strand guide of continuous casting is characterized by the known segmental design. In embodiments for hydraulic adjustments of segments, eg. For a change in thickness, Softreduktion or other required position-controlled Maulweitenanstellungen that require a continuous strand thickness decrease, the segments with two hydraulic cylinder pairs, comprising four individual hydraulic cylinders, are employed independently. An exception here forms for thin slab - continuous casting the first segment, which is equipped with only one pair of cylinders, because on the inlet side below the mold usually a hinge point is arranged.

The prior art discloses a number of practical embodiments for guiding a strand and corresponding strand guides therefor.

The document WO 98/00253 describes a method for guiding a strand, in particular a steel strand in a continuous casting plant with a soft reduction section, wherein the hydraulic servo units continuously adjust the jaw width of opposite strand guide rollers. In a strand guide segment with four servo-piston-cylinder units, two adjacent cylinder units, hydraulically linked together, to the Strang employed, and the other cylinder units are independently adjusted continuously.
In this case, the position of the two linked cylinder units is detected, compared with setpoints and controlled according to specifiable data and an average value. If defined basic values are exceeded, another pair of servo-piston-cylinder units is linked to one another.

The document WO 99/46071 relates to a positioning method for a roll segment of a continuous casting plant, which has a segment input side, a segment output side and a pair of roller carriers, each carrying at least two rollers extending over a support region, wherein the roller carriers on one at the segment input side and at the segment output side arranged adjusting unit are employed against each other, each adjuster has two on both sides of the support region arranged hydraulic cylinder units. The hydraulic cylinder units can be adjusted to both position and pressure. Via the hydraulic cylinder units, the rollers are adjusted in position to a metal run guided by the rollers and the hydraulic cylinder units are switched from position to pressure-controlled operation when the pressure in the respective hydraulic cylinder unit reaches a limit.

Based on the aforementioned prior art, the present invention seeks to provide a new solution for said strand guide, which satisfies any required position-controlled Maulweitenangstellung for a continuous strand thickness change with only one hydraulic cylinder pair per strand guide segment.

To solve the problem is proposed in a strand guide mentioned in the preamble of claim 1 with the invention that between adjacent segments each have a mechanical connection is present, and that when arranging a pair of cylinders on the Strang input side of a segment whose employment movement both on this side, when at the same time takes place at the strand exit side of an associated precursor segment, whereas in the arrangement of a pair of cylinders on the strand exit side of a segment whose employment movement takes place both on this side, and at the same time on the Strang input side of a subsequent segment associated therewith.

This is advantageously made the equipment of a segment instead of previously four hydraulic cylinder units according to the invention with only two hydraulic cylinder units, which not only material is saved, but it is especially the hitherto large amount of assembly work on the segment or role change significantly reduced and so that the cost situation significantly cheaper. Furthermore, the regulatory burden can be reduced.

An embodiment of the strand guide according to the invention provides that the mechanical connection between adjacent segments is a releasable sliding joint connection. The advantage of such a sliding joint connection is that it requires only a minimum of assembly work when installing or removing the joint.

Furthermore, an embodiment of the method according to the invention provides that the segments between the first and the last segment each have only one pair of cylinders, which is positioned either on the strand input side, or on the strand output side.

According to the invention it is proposed that in the arrangement of all pairs of cylinders on the strand output side of the first and last of the segments is assigned a respective pair of cylinders. On the other hand, it is proposed with the embodiment of the strand guide according to the invention that when arranging all pairs of cylinders on the strand input side of the last segment of the strand guide two pairs of cylinders, input and output side are arranged, and that the first, adjoining the mold segment no hydraulic cylinder is assigned.

The first segment thus has no hydraulic cylinder. This provides a significant advantage for a variable strand guide with format thickness change. An improvement is also achieved by low assembly costs, which, for example, in the case of a breakthrough to solve or close hydraulic connections and sensor connections or are to be replaced, whereby much shorter change times can be achieved.

Moreover, the connection between two segments in the form of a releasable sliding joint connection ensures the required synchronization of a segment outlet side with the subsequent segment inlet side, or the role transitions of the last role of a segment to the following role of the next segment. The guide structures with the sliding joint connection are, due to the possibility of an expansion of the segments upwards, connectable with the following segment without aids. In this case, the compound is kept closed, for example, by the action of the dead weight of an attached segment in successive segments.

The positioning method for the roll segments of the strand guide of a continuous casting plant is inventively characterized in that in each adjacent segments between the first and last segment a flexible connection is made and hydraulic Anstelleinheiten in such a force transferable actuated that one on the one side of a segment acting adjusting movement is simultaneously transmitted to the other side of an adjacent segment.

Vorteilhaft ist, wenn die Anstellbewegung mit jeweils gleicher Richtung und gleicher Länge erfolgtAn embodiment of the positioning method according to the invention provides that a releasable sliding joint is used for producing a flexible connection between adjacent segments. It is advantageous if the adjusting movement takes place with the same direction and the same length

As has already been stated, such a sliding joint connection serves the rapid implementation of a mounting with significant savings in assembly time and thereby reduces the cost incurred at standstill of the system production downtime.

Finally, the Anstellverfahren according to the invention provides that according to a Anstellbewegung the Strangeingangsseite the last segment Anstellbewegung is generated separately hydraulically on the strand output side.

The strand guide shown in FIG. 1 for a casting strand cast in the mold 7 corresponds in its design to the underlying state of the art and is divided into four segments 1 to 4 with one strand inlet side 2.1 and one strand outlet side 3.1 each, with one A pair of roller carriers located therebetween carry a number of support rollers 5 extending over a support region, the roller carriers not being shown separately in FIG. 1, overcoming both mechanical and ferrostatic forces at mutual distance by means of at the strands input side 2.1 or at the Strand output side 3.1 attacking hydraulic adjusters 8.1 to 8.7 are adjustable. The Anstelleinheiten 8 are hydraulically acting piston-cylinder units.

Since the adjusting units 8.1 to 8.7 are shown in a side view, each of the drawing to be taken adjusting unit corresponds to a pair of hydraulic units. Overall, therefore, has the shown in Fig. 1 and previously known strand guide four cooperable as a unit roll segments 1 to 4 with a total of fourteen individual hydraulic Anstelleinheiten. 8

Figures 2 to 5 show, in contrast to Fig. 1, the inventive design of the strand guide a continuous casting.

In the strand guide according to the invention, a flexible, mechanical connection 9 is present between adjacent segments 1 to 4. When a cylinder pair 8.1 is arranged on the strand input side 2.1 of a segment 1 to 4, its starting movements take place both on this side 2.1 and at the same time on the strand exit side 3.1 of an associated precursor segment. When arranging a pair of cylinders 8 on the strand output side 3.1 of a segment 1 to 4 whose employment movements are effected both on this page 3.1, as well as at the same time on the Strang input side 2.1 of an associated subsequent segment. An essential embodiment of the invention provides that the mechanical connection 9 between adjacent segments is a releasable sliding joint.

An advantage of such a sliding joint joint is the uncomplicated assembly or disassembly, as shown by way of example in FIG. 4.

The segments between the first and last segments 1, 4 each have only one pair of cylinders 8, which is positioned either on the strand input side 2.1 of FIG. 2 or on the strand output side 3.4. It follows that, with the arrangement of all pairs of cylinders 8 on the strand outlet side 3.1, as shown in FIG. 3, in the first and last segments 1 and 4, a respective cylinder pair 8.1 to 8.4 is assigned.

In contrast to this, FIG. 2 shows that, when all cylinder pairs 8.1 to 8.4 are arranged on the strand inlet side 2.1, the last segment 4 of the strand guide is assigned two cylinder pairs 8.3 and 8.4 on the input and output side, and the first, to the mold 7 subsequent segment 1 no hydraulic cylinder is assigned.

This design, in which no adjusting cylinder is present in the segment 1, is a significant improvement for variable strand guides, which provide a format thickness change. In the case of a breakthrough then easier replacement of segment 1 against corresponding replacement parts is possible because in particular no hydraulic connections and sensor connections are to be solved or close and thus shortened changeover times are achieved.

The illustration of Fig. 4 shows this advantageous uncomplicated removal of the segment 1 with taken apart flexible connection 9, whose parts were merely inserted into each other. The dismantling work of the following segments 2 to 4 is correspondingly problem-free.

Fig. 5 shows in the employment of a pair of cylinders 8.1, 8.2, the initiation of the thickness reduction in the design of the strand guide according to the invention, each with only one pair of cylinders per cylinder, which is arranged in the region of each flexible connection 9. The hydraulic adjusting units are designed such that they can be transmitted in such a way that an actuating movement acting on one side of a segment is transmitted in the same way and with the same length at the same time to the other side of an adjacent segment.

An adjusting movement of the strand exit side 3.1 of the penultimate segment 3 generates a corresponding adjusting movement of the strand input side 2.1 of the last segment 4 of the strand guide. Simultaneously, in accordance with an adjusting movement of the strands input side 2.1 of the last segment 4, an adjusting movement of its strand output side 3.1 is effected hydraulically with the aid of the cylinder pair 8.4.
