Description

The invention relates to a glass body for use as household glass, such as vase, pastry dish, fruit plate od. Like., According to the preamble of claim 1.

Such a glass body, which forms a cohesively coherent unit is provided with a receiving space which is bounded by side walls and by a bottom. Opposite the floor, there is a filling opening. Since such household glass serves essentially decorative purposes, the sidewall is often provided with decorations, such as cuts or similar structures. Such structures, which form undercut surfaces facing away from the filling opening, can either be retrofitted, e.g. be introduced by grinding, or during the manufacturing process by molding the Haushaltsglases. The demolding of such structures, however, is associated with relatively expensive devices and mostly with special elaborate manual labor.

From DE 199 34 609 A1 a drinking glass is known, the side wall has a recess which is filled flush with a particular colored plastic, such as epoxy or polyester casting resin.

From DE 21 15089A1 a lamp body made of baked clay is known, are introduced in the side wall after a first firing step, the biscuit, drilled holes. After completion of firing flat glass body are glued as light passage openings within the boreholes. This special ceramic technique represents a remote foreign field for the glassmaking specialist, from which he takes no suggestions.

From DE-U-76 11 009 a glass vessel is known, in which on the outside of the vessel wall at least one to the vessel center axis out cross-sectionally tapered blind hole is provided with conical shape. In the bore, a gemstone is attached, which has a cylindrical or frusto-conical front wall portion and a conical rear wall portion. With the conical rear wall portion of the gemstone is fixed in the bore of the vessel wall, z. B. cemented. To avoid stresses in the vessel wall, a plurality of circumferential grooves are introduced into the wall surface of the bore, which are scribed, for example, with a diamond needle. The grooves then take up a portion of the putty, thus avoiding stresses. Disadvantage of the subject matter of DE-U-76 11 009 is that the subsequent attachment of the gemstone on the glass body is clearly visible. In addition, the production of the glass vessel is expensive.

The invention is therefore an object of the invention to provide a decorative household glass, which can be provided with vielgestaltigen decorative structures, but still allows a simple and cost-effective production.

The invention is solved by the features of independent claim 1 and the features of independent claim 10.

The advantage of the household glass according to the invention is that the latter can be made in a simple manner by machine and then decorative inserts of various kinds are introduced into the glass. This is done by openings are introduced into the glass at the places to be provided with decorations and subsequently decorative body, which may consist in particular of glass, are introduced.

In a first embodiment, the outer contour of the decorative body is at least partially encompassed by the frame-like reveal. The frame-like reveal thus represents a contact surface for the decorative body to which this can be created and fixed.

In another embodiment, the decorative body is secured within the aperture. This embodiment has the advantage that the breakthrough is easy to produce, for example, through a hole.

A further embodiment of the invention provides that between the outer contour of the decorative body and the frame-like reveal of the Breakthrough a gap is formed. The decorative body must not be adapted in this way exactly to the outer contour of the opening, which is a manufacturing advantage. In addition, the gap provides a space for fasteners.

According to another embodiment, the decorative body is held on the outer surface of the side wall. Even with the help of this embodiment, the outer contour of the aperture does not have to be exactly adapted to the decorative body. In addition, the outer edge surface of the aperture forms a mating surface for bonding to the peripheral surface of the decorative body. This embodiment of the invention also offers the possibility of simple production.

According to a further embodiment, a partial volume of the decorative body projects from the opening into the glass body interior which is at least partially delimited by the inner wall surface of the side wall. It can be attached to the household glass so symmetrical body with advantageous decorative effects that are not limited in their shape.

A further embodiment provides for the decorative body to be movably secured within the frame-like reveal of the opening by means of at least one suspension element. If the glass is not filled or only to below the decorative body, so it is possible in this way to attach the decorative body movable and thus to achieve a special, caused by the movement of the body, effect.

According to a further embodiment of the invention, the decorative body is fixed in or on the soffit of the opening by means of a glue joint filled in particular with a clear transparent adhesive. As a result, a particularly simple attachment of the decorative body is achieved, wherein the attachment can be made invisible.

Although the breakthrough may also be a polygonal cross-sectional bore made, for example, by waterjet technology, a circular cross-section bore is particularly useful because it can be made with simple drilling tools, such as corundum drill bits.

To be able to use the decorative body with respect to the adjacent inner and / or outer wall surface of the side wall quite inconspicuous and stick, it has been found to be advantageous that the soffit forms a conical surface.

In a further embodiment of the invention, the conical surface sets against the outer wall surface of the side wall and converges toward the receiving space with respect to the center of the opening.

It is particularly expedient that the contour of the boundary line between the outer wall surface and conical surface is adapted to the contour of the decorative body. Thus, if the contour of the decorative body is a polygon, e.g. an equilateral polygon, such as hexagon or octagon follows, receives the aforementioned boundary line between outer wall surface and conical surface exactly the same course.

The latter can be done, for example, according to further features of the invention in that the conical surface is produced by blasting by means of abrasive blasting particles, such as quartz sand or corundum, within a blasting-particle protective film mask.

The decorative body 16 has cut surfaces 22 that are different in size and shape. Ground surfaces 22A form the undercut surfaces facing away from the filling opening O.

A portion 19 of the decorative body 16 passes through the opening 14 and projects beyond the inner wall 20 of the side wall 11 into the receiving space 13. Another portion 27 of the body 16 protrudes to the outside over the outer circumferential surface 17. An edge region 18 of the decorative body 16 projects beyond an edge region 23 of the opening 14 in the side wall 11. In this case, an adhesive joint 26 is formed between the edge region 18 of the decorative body 16 and the edge region 23 of the opening 14, in which an adhesive layer 21 is arranged from a clear transparent adhesive.

According to FIG. 3, the decorative body 16 is fastened to the side wall 11 of the household glass 10 by means of a suspension element 24, which passes through holes, not shown, in the decorative body and in the edge region 23 of the opening 14. Between the outer contour 25 of the decorative body 16 and the soffit 15 is in this embodiment, a gap.

In order to illustrate different stages of production, FIGS. 4A-6A each show an external view of a partial region 10A of the glass body 10A, including the respectively relevant longitudinal section corresponding to FIGS. 4B-6B.

Referring to Figs. 4A and 4B, a circular aperture 14 is made in the portion 10A, suitably by means of a mechanical drilling tool, such as e.g. by means of a corundum drill.

Then, according to FIGS. 5A and 5B, a self-adhesive blasting agent protective film mask 30 is adhered to the processing field of the partial area 10A. The protective film mask 30 has a recess 31 which has the contour 32 of an equilateral polygon, namely an equilateral octagon.

The protective film mask 30 consists of a PVC copolymer film, which is resistant to mineral abrasives, such as quartz sand or corundum, so that only the area between the actual bore reveal 33 and the inner contour 32 of the mask 30 is acted upon by the blasting medium. In this way, an inner cone surface 28, which represents the inner cone surface of a truncated cone, whose widest range is limited by the contour 32, which also represents the boundary line 29 between the outer wall surface 17 and the conical surface 28.

Since the boundary line 29 corresponds to the outer contour 25 of the decorative body 16, sticking of the decorative body in the opening 14 can be so inconspicuous that the viewer gains the impression of a transitionless addition.
