Dabei ist der Verstellmechanismus so angeordnet, dass die Verbindungsgerade der Lageraugen oder -arme des Zylinderblocks etwa senkrecht zur Zylinderachse steht, wodurch ein Getriebeparallelogramm zur Verlagerung des Zylinderblocks gegenüber dem feststehenden Kurbelgehäuse entsteht.
