Claims (12)

  1. Elastic slat for lower upholstery for sitting or lying furniture, the upholstery surface of which is broken up into partial surfaces with mounted spring elements and is provided with upholstery support, with the elastic slat having at least one downwardly opening strip element which is provided on both sides with end parts for fixing to the sitting or lying furniture, in particular to a lath base of a bed, characterised in that the slat body (1) is formed by at least two downwardly opening U-profiles (3, 4) disposed at a distance from one another, the outer ends of which U-profiles, connected to one another via the end parts (10), form the slat head of the slat body (1), and of which in each case two of the U-profiles (3, 4) are connected to one another by means of crosspieces (5) provided with fastening means for spring elements oriented at a distance from one another along their longitudinal extension and transversely thereto.
  2. Elastic slat as claimed in Claim 1, characterised in that the U-profiles (3, 4) are configured in the form of an arc towards their centre, with the height in the central area being greater with respect to the height at the edge.
  3. Elastic slat as claimed in Claim 2, characterised in that the greater height of the U-profiles (3, 4) is greater by at least 1/3 and at most by 2/3 with respect to the height at the edge.
  4. Elastic slat as claimed in Claim 1, 2 or 3, characterised in that the free ends of the legs of the U-profiles (3, 4) are provided with beads (3.1, 4.1) integrally moulded thereto, which project by at least the thickness of the material of the legs of the U-profiles (3, 4) at right angles therefrom.
  5. Elastic slat as claimed in Claims 1 to 4, characterised in that the crosspieces (5) having a crosspiece plate (6) and having transverse walls (7) form a U-shape oriented towards the longitudinal extension of the slat body (1) of the elastic slat.
  6. Elastic slat as claimed in Claim 5, characterised in that the crosspiece plates (7) of the crosspieces (5) have a hollow configuration in the form of a cup.
  7. Elastic slat as claimed in Claim 5 or 6, characterised in that the crosspiece plates (7) of the crosspieces (5) are provided with a hole as fixing means for spring elements, which interacting with a journal provided at the base of the spring element, fix the said elastic element to the elastic strip.
  8. Elastic slat as claimed in any one of Claims 1 to 7, characterised in that a T-shaped projection (8) which interacts with a slit-like hole is provided as fixing means for fixing the spring elements to the crosspiece plates (6) of the crosspieces (5), said projection being configured on the crosspiece plate (6) or on the spring element, with the T-shaped projection (8) preferably being configured as an attachment which can be mounted on the crosspiece plate (6) .
  9. Elastic slat as claimed in any one of Claims 1 to 8, characterised in that the end parts (10) of the elastic slat are configured as an end plate (11) bearing against the longitudinal bars of a slat base frame which are fixed by means of pins, screws, dowels or the like to the frame of the sitting or lying furniture or the longitudinal bars of the slat base.
  10. Elastic slat as claimed in Claim 9, characterised in that the end parts (10) of each of the elastic slats have a bracket (12) attached to or integrally moulded onto the end plate (11) in such a way that it projects at right angles, with which bracket the elastic slat can be supported on or in the frame of the sitting or lying furniture or the longitudinal bars of the slat base.
  11. Elastic slat as claimed in any one of Claims 1 to 10, characterised in that at least the slat body (1) formed from U-profiles (3, 4) with the crosspieces (5) and the end parts (10) is configured in the known way as an integral plastic injection moulded part.
  12. Elastic slat as claimed in Claim 11, characterised in that the plastic has a natural filler or a fibre reinforcement, with wood chips or dust preferably being used as the filler or long-fibred plant fibres preferably being used as the fibre reinforcement.
