Definitions

  • the invention relates to an electrical collector intended in particular to be mounted in a cabinet or an electrical box and comprising a conductive bar comprising a flattened portion, at least one electrical connection member mounted on said bar and comprising at least one connection means, each these means being intended to allow the electrical connection of a cable or the like to said bar, the aforementioned connection operation being performed by means of a suitable tool, and a connection block adapted to such a collector.
  • a ground collector constituted by a brass bar having a monobloc connection block with said bar, said block comprising a number of screw type connection means.
  • connection points and the section of the cables to be connected are fixed, and the screw connection mode generates a relatively long connection time.
  • Another type of earth collector consists of a copper bar on which are fixed a multitude of small copper jumpers constituting screw terminals for connecting the cables. The disadvantages of this type of system are mainly because the assembly does not have sufficient mechanical strength to withstand the forces required for the connection of the cables, resulting in bending deformation of the bar.
  • connection points is fixed in a single direction perpendicular to the fixing plane of the bar; this system does not allow the connection of cables of different sections; the number of connection points is fixed; and the connection time of the cables is particularly long.
  • the present invention solves these problems and proposes an electrical collector of simple design, having a very good mechanical resistance to the forces necessary for the connection of the cables, great possibilities of adaptation with respect to the position of the cables, and with which the operation connection is facilitated.
  • the present invention also relates to a connection block intended in particular to constitute a constituent element of said collector.
  • the subject of the present invention is a collector of the kind previously mentioned, this collector being characterized in that the at least one or each connecting member is oriented relative to the plane of said bar so that the direction of the resultant forces exerted on the manifold by the aforementioned tool during the connection operation is substantially parallel to the plane of said bar.
  • This bar comprises a first part intended to receive the aforementioned connecting members and a second part comprising at least one fixing part of the bar in the aforementioned cabinet or cabinet, and the part (s) of attachment is ( are) located in a plane said plane of attachment, which plane is angularly offset from the plane containing the first part of the bar, said plane of the bar.
  • the block further comprises means for extracting the block from the bar, these means being arranged in such a way that the direction of the resultant of the forces exerted on the collector during the extraction operation is substantially parallel. to the plane of the bar.
  • these extraction means comprise at least one notch made in the said block (s), the said slot (s) being intended to cooperate with the tip of 'a screwdriver.
  • connection members comprise modules, said modules comprising, with respect to each other, a number of equal or different connection means and / or being adapted to equal or different cable sections.
  • an earth collector C intended to be placed in an electrical cabinet A, as illustrated on FIG. figure 7 , in order to allow the connection to earth of the different devices, in this case circuit breakers D, placed in this cabinet A.
  • This collector C is constituted on the figure 1 by a copper bar 1 on which are fixed a screw terminal 2 and four connection blocks 3, respectively three connection blocks 3a adapted to the connection of small section cables and a connection block 3b adapted to the connection of large section cables .
  • the terminal screw 2, made of folded sheet metal, is intended to establish between the copper bar 1 and earth equipotentiality, while the connection blocks 3 are intended to electrically connect cables from the apparatus to the barrel.
  • the bar 1 is composed of a first part, consisting of two fixing parts 4,5 located respectively at the two ends of the bar 1, and a second part 6, called intermediate, intended to receive the connection blocks 3.
  • the plane P containing the intermediate portion 6 forms, with the plane Q, fastening portions, or plane of attachment, an angle ⁇ ( fig.9 ) about 45 °, this angular offset having been made by twisting the bar 1.
  • Each connection block 3 comprises a number of connection means 7, these being of the fast connector type.
  • connection means 7 comprises a spring clip 8 ( fig.9 ) and two orifices 9, 10 for the one 9, to receive a cable 11, and the other 10, to allow the introduction of a screwdriver 12 to actuate the clamp 8 so as to allow the introduction of the cable 11 in the orifice 9, which is retained by the clamp 8 after the removal of the screwdriver 12.
  • the connection blocks 3 are oriented relative to the plane P of the intermediate part 6 of the bar 1, so that the direction R of the resultant of the forces exerted on the collector C during the connection operation is substantially parallel to the P plane of the intermediate portion 6 of the bar 1.
  • connection blocks 3 comprise fastening means 13 by snapping said blocks 3 onto the bar 1, these means comprising a groove 13 extending from one side to the other of the blocks 3 and adapted to receive the bar 1 to slide so as to retain the blocks 3 on the bar 1. It can also be seen in these figures that the blocks 3 furthermore comprise means 14 intended to allow the blocks 3 of the bar 1 to be extracted.
  • connection blocks 3 are first fixed to the intermediate portion 6 of the copper bar 1 equipped with its screw terminal 2, by introduction (or snapping) of said bar 1 into the groove 13 of the blocks 3. Note that the number and type of blocks used will vary depending on the type of connection to be made.
  • the Figures 11 to 15 thus illustrate different arrangements of blocks adapted to the connection of cables of large or small section.
  • the assembly is fixed on supports 15 provided in the cabinet A ( figure 7 ) via the fastening parts 4,5 of the bar 1.
  • the blocks 3 can be oriented in eight different positions. Indeed, the same block 3 can be introduced from the top ( figs.16,17 ) or from below ( figs.18,19 )
  • the bar 1 itself can take two different positions ( figs16,19) and (figs 17,18 ).
  • Figures 17 and 18 represent the bar 1 in an inverted position with respect to the position of the bar 1 shown on the Figures 16 and 19 , that is to say that the bar, from one position to another underwent a position reversal with respect to a plane perpendicular to said bar. It is thus seen, for example, that the connection block 3 is in the upward position and the left in the figure 16 and 20 , pointing up and right on Figures 17 and 21 , pointing down and left on the Figures 18 and 22 and pointing down and right on the Figures 19 and 23 .
  • this block 3 can still take two different reversed positions depending on the connection means 7 are on one side or the other of the bar 1 as is the case for the blocks 3a, 3d or 3b, 3c on the figure 17 , in order to allow better access to the cables compared to the screwdriver.
  • the same block can take eight different positions.
  • the collector C can be placed in the cabinet A at all levels and in all positions so as to adapt to the arrival and the connection of the cables, as we see it on the figure 7 .
  • the collector C can be placed in a vertical position 16, 17, 18, in a horizontal position 19, 20, 21, 22, at the end 18 of a row of apparatuses. 23, directly on the bottom of the cabinet 21,22 and just below a row of apparatus 23, vertically 17 across the width of the cabinet A on crossbars 24, in a cable duct according to its width 22 or parallel to 16 the flow of cables.
  • the cables 11 are connected by inserting the end of said cables 11 into the orifices 9 after introducing the tip of the screwdriver 12 into the second orifice 10, this introduction of the tip of the screwdriver 12 against the force of an elastic part belonging to the clamp 8 having the effect of releasing the opening of the first port 9 to allow access to the cables.
  • the angle ⁇ of action of the screwdriver 12 relative to the fixing plane Q corresponds to the angle ⁇ of inclination of the bar 1 with respect to this same plane of attachment Q.
  • the direction R the resultant forces exerted on the collector C is parallel to the plane P of the bar (intermediate portion of the bar).
  • the assembly comprising the bar 1 and the block 3 concerned thus has a very good mechanical strength in bending to withstand the forces required for the connection of the cables.
  • this angle of action of the screwdriver 12 about 45 °, is particularly suitable for facilitating access to the cables 11 in the electrical cabinet.
  • the action of the screwdriver is not impeded by the presence of the cables that are below the screwdriver. As a result, the connection operation is facilitated as well as the reading of the diagrams and the addition or removal of cables in case of evolution of the wiring.
  • a collector of simple and economical design and having optimum mechanical strength in bending has been realized.
  • This collector is intended in particular to be mounted in cabinets or electrical cabinets and allows a quick and modular connection depending on the different sections of cables and the number of cables required.
