Abstract

The invention concerns a safety device on grasping devices for masonry elements (7). The safety device prevents falling of blocks or bricks out of the grasping device. The invention concerns an appliance (1) where after grasping and hoisting of the load almost directly two arms (3, 4) direct a profile (5, 6) under the load. On putting down of the load the arms gives way at touching on the floor and the grasping device (1) can open. The arms are provided with rollers (8) which spread the arms on putting down and close at hoisting. The grasping device is foreseen with plates that prevents elements falling sideways out of the grasping device and supporting plates (11) which keep the arms spreaded when the grasping device is opened. The invention can also be executed as do it yourself kit.

Description

  • The invention concerns a safety device on grasping devices for masonry elements. The safety device prevents falling of blocks or bricks out of the grasping device. A lifting device with a safety device is for example disclosed in DE 77 29 334 U .
  • It is usual to load and unload packages of stones, blocks sand-lime bricks and similar with the help of grasping devices. Also horizontal transporting of packages with the help of hydraulic cranes is done with these grasping devices. The grasping device will be indicated as hoisting grab. In many cases of high-rise buildings are sand-lime bricks used in separation walls and similar and the sand-lime bricks have to be through to high levels. Sand-lime bricks are characterized by grit and dust through that makes the friction amongst them selves low.
  • This makes the chance for sliding out of an element large. It is than also necessary to have a safety device that prevents falling out of a loose element from the package. The problem is that the packages have to be taken off the floor with the grasping device. There is no possibility to fit a safety device underneath the package. In praxis the package is hoisted a little and a steel net is pulled under the load and fastened. Before putting down, the net has to be removed and the load can be placed.
  • The invention concerns an appliance where after grasping and hoisting of the load almost instantly two arms move a profile underneath the load. When the load is put down the arms gives way at touching on the floor and the hoisting grab will open. There is no need for an action to remove the safety device.
  • The invention is described with help of the drawing.
    • Fig 1. shows a grab without a safety device.
    • Fig 2. shows the side-view of a grab with safety device with the load on short distance of the ground.
    • Fig.3 shows a grab with the load on the ground.
    • Fig.4 shows partly the top view of a grab with safety device in open position.
  • Fig.1 shows a hoisting grab of the type that is used to load or unload packages bricks or blocks. The hoisting grab (1) uses the movement of a scissors to pinch the load when hoisting package of bricks (7) between beams (9) which are covered with rubber. The hoisting grab is of the type which is foreseen with a catch that keeps the hoisting grab open after delivering a load.
  • In Fig.2 is (1) the hoisting grab. On joints (2) are two pivoting arms (3, 4) connected. Arms have about the form of a "L" and reach over load (7) and down. At the low ends of arms (3, 4) are profiles (5,6) secured, for instance by welding. Profiles (5, 6) are the same length as beams (9). To the end of arms (3,4) are rollers (8) mounted which extend out of profiles (5,6).To the ends of beams (9) are fixed plates (10) to prevent sideways falling out of blocks. Supporting plates (11) which are mounted on the arms of the scissor arm construction curtail the movement of arms (3, 4) so that with picking up of the load (7) profiles (5, 6) will not touch onto the load.
  • The hoisting grab will be held open by a catch (not drawn) after opening at putting down the load (7). The arms (3, 4) are held open by supporting plates (11). When the hoisting grab with arms (3, 4) is placed across the load rollers (8) touch the ground and with moving further downwards of the hoisting grab the arms (3, 4) will be spread. When the hoisting grab weighs upon the load (7) the catch will discharge the hoisting grab and at hoisting on eye (12) the hoisting grab will close and take up the load (7). On taking up, rollers (8) lose contact with the ground and by their weight arms (3, 4) will move to each other and profiles (5, 6) will be under the load. When now a brick gets loose, it will be captured by profiles (5, 6). Plates (10) which are mounted on the ends of beams (9) prevent outer brick (13) to fall out sideways. At putting down of the load (7) rollers (8) will have the first contact with the ground and arms (3,4) spread themselves and with further descending the hoisting grab will open and the catch will keep the hoisting grab open and a new load (7) can be picked up.
  • There is a possibility that adapting joints (2) is not desirable. In that case a separate joint can be placed near joint (2). Because of clearance it is desirable to make the horizontal part (14) of arms (3, 4) as long as possible.
  • The invention can also executed as a do it yourself kit and be mounted on existing hoisting grabs. There are different handles possible for directing the hoisting grab across the load to mounted to arms (3, 4), these are not mentioned.
