Claims (35)

  1. A packaging and applicator device comprising:
    - a compartment (20) for receiving a receptacle (40) containing a substance;
    - a first opening (22) through which the substance is to be taken by means of an applicator, said applicator (30) being suitable for being releasably fixed to the device;
    - a shutter (43) associated with the first opening and capable of being opened and/or closed by the applicator via a transmission member (50) suitable for being driven in displacement by the applicator; characterized by the fact that the device further comprises :
    - a second opening (21 b) distinct from the first and through which the receptacle is designed to be inserted, by being moved relative to the transmission member.
  2. A device according to claim 1, characterized by the fact that the first and second openings are made in a case having an axis (X).
  3. A device according to claim 2, characterized by the fact that the receptacle is inserted into the case through the second opening, by being displaced along the axis (X) of the case.
  4. A device according to claim 2 or claim 3, characterized by the fact that the applicator is free to turn relative to the case while remaining secured to the transmission member.
  5. A device according to claim 4, characterized by the fact that the shutter is free to turn relative to the case and by the fact that the transmission member is suitable for transmitting the turning movement of the applicator relative to the case to constitute turning movement of the shutter relative to the case.
  6. A device according to any one of the preceding claims, characterized by the fact that the applicator comprises at least one fastening portion in relief suitable for co-operating with a complementary portion in relief of the transmission member.
  7. A device according to any one of the preceding claims, characterized by the fact that the transmission member (150) includes the shutter (190).
  8. A device according to claim 7, characterized by the fact that the shutter (190) is formed integrally with the transmission member (150) by molding a plastics material.
  9. A device according to any one of claims 1 to 6, characterized by the fact that the receptacle (40) comprises the shutter (43).
  10. A device according to claim 9, characterized by the fact that the receptacle (40) is formed integrally with the shutter (43) by molding a plastics material.
  11. A device according to any one of claims 1 to 9, characterized by the fact that the receptacle is configured to be capable of being fixed to the transmission member, in particular by snap-fastening.
  12. A device according to any one of claims 1 to 11, characterized by the fact that the transmission member and the applicator are suitable for being coupled to turn together, and by the fact that the transmission member is configured to avoid the applicator turning relative to the transmission member after the applicator has been coupled to turn with the transmission member.
  13. A device according to any one of claims 1 to 12, characterized by the fact that it includes a case having at least one portion in relief (75) extending circumferentially, in particular a shoulder, and by the fact that the transmission member comprises at least one element (73) suitable for co-operating with said portion in relief to allow the transmission member to turn relative to the case while preventing axial displacement in at least one direction of the transmission member relative to the case.
  14. A device according to any one of claims 1 to 13, characterized by the fact that the transmission member comprises at least one slot (70), in particular a slot having two opposite edges (70a) each having at least one substantially rectilinear portion parallel to an axis (X) of the device, a portion in relief of the applicator, in particular a stud (81) being capable of being engaged in said slot.
  15. A device according to claim 14, characterized by the fact that the transmission member comprises two diametrically-opposite slots (70), and preferably four slots (70), and by the fact that the applicator includes at least two portions in relief, in particular two studs (81) suitable for engaging in said slots, and preferably four studs.
  16. A device according to claim 14 or claim 15, characterized by the fact that it comprises a case, by the fact that the transmission member is put into place in the case by being inserted axially therein, by the fact that the slots define tongues (72) between one another and by the fact that the tongues are suitable for snap-fastening on the case (20) at the end of fully inserting the transmission member into the case.
  17. A device according to any one of the preceding claims, characterized by the fact that it comprises a case, by the fact that the case has at least one inside threading (80) and by the fact that the applicator is suitable for co-operating with said threading so that turning the applicator relative to the case is accompanied by the applicator being displaced axially relative to the case.
  18. A device according to claim 17, characterized by the fact that the threading comprises four parallel threads.
  19. A device according to claims 14 and 17, characterized by the fact that the stud is suitable for co-operating with the threading.
  20. A device according to any one of the preceding claims, characterized by the fact that the transmission member comprises at least a first fixing element (64) and by the fact that the receptacle comprises at least a second fixing element (61; 161) at one end suitable for co-operating with the first fixing element when the receptacle is put into place.
  21. A device according to claim 20, characterized by the fact that the second fixing element comprises at least one fixing tab (61; 161), and preferably the receptacle has two fixing tabs (61; 161) suitable for snap-fastening to the transmission member at the end of being put into place in the receptacle.
  22. A device according to claim 21, characterized by the fact that the first fixing element has at least one opening (64) suitable for receiving a tooth of a fixing tab.
  23. A device according to any one of the preceding claims, characterized by the fact that the receptacle has at least a first positioning portion in relief (69; 169), and the transmission member has at least a second positioning portion in relief (66) suitable for co-operating with the first positioning portion so as to encourage positioning of the receptacle in a predetermined position relative to the transmission member, each of the first and second positioning portions in relief preferably including at least one sloping surface (68).
  24. A device according to any one of the preceding claims, characterized by the fact that one of the receptacle and the transmission member has an element (69; 169) defining a V-groove and the other of the receptacle and the transmission member has an element (66) with a profile in a plane containing the axis (X) of a case of the device that is substantially complementary to said groove.
  25. A device according to any one of the preceding claims, characterized by the fact that it comprises a case, by the fact that the case has at least a first portion in relief on its inside face, in particular two diametrically-opposite splines parallel to the axis of the case, and by the fact that the transmission member has at least one second portion in relief suitable for going past said first portion in relief when the transmission member is turned relative to the case.
  26. A device according to claim 25, characterized by the fact that said second portion in relief goes past said first portion in relief substantially at the end of the movement for fixing the applicator to the case.
  27. A device according to any one of the preceding claims, characterized by the fact that the substance is in the form of a cake.
  28. A device according to any one of the preceding claims, characterized by the fact that the applicator (30) is configured to enable the substance to be applied to the lips or to the eyelids or to the eyelashes or to the eyebrows.
  29. A device according to any one of the preceding claims, characterized by the fact that the shutter is made of a material that is at least partially transparent or translucent.
  30. A method of assembling a substance packaging and applicator device comprising a case and an applicator, the case having an opening (22) through which the substance is taken by means of the applicator, the method being characterized by the fact that it comprises the following steps:
    - presenting the case and the applicator secured to each other to an assembly station; and
    - inserting a supply of substance (P) into the case through an opening (21b) of the case that is different from the opening through which the substance is taken by means of the applicator, the case and the applicator being secured to each other while the supply of substance is being inserted into the case.
  31. A method according to claim 30, characterized by the fact that the applicator has at Least one fastening portion in relief suitable for co-operating with at least one corresponding portion in relief enabling the applicator to be retained in the case, and by the fact that the substance is inserted into the case by moving relative to said at least one corresponding portion in relief.
  32. A method according to claim 30 or claim 31, the device comprising a receptacle (40; 140) containing the substance (P), said receptacle being suitable for being received at least in part in the case, the case having at least one side opening (22) through which the substance can be taken with the applicator (30), the method being characterized by the fact that it comprises the following steps:
    a) presenting the case (20) and the applicator (30) secured to each other to said assembly station; and
    b) inserting the receptacle containing the substance into the case in said station while the case and the applicator are secured to each other, said insertion taking place along the axis (X) of the case.
  33. A method according to any one of claims 30 to 32, characterized by the fact that the receptacle (40; 140) containing the substance is free to turn relative to the case about the axis of the case.
  34. A method according to any one of claims 30 to 33, characterized by the fact that the device includes a movement transmission member (50; 150) enabling turning movement of the applicator relative to the case to be transformed into turning movement of the receptacle relative to the case, and by the fact that while the receptacle is being put into place in the case, the receptacle is secured to said transmission member.
  35. A method according to claim 34, characterized by the fact that the transmission member comprises said at least one corresponding portion in relief.
