Abstract

An ergonomic chair having an extending foot and the possibility of swiveling with tilting of the chair backrest synchronized with horizontal movement of the chair seat. It is intended for the linkage system to be installed on a swivel chair. With this (office) chair, it is intended to synchronize the tilt of the backrest with the forward movement of the seat in such a way that the distance of the seat occupant's hands relative to the work equipment on the desk top remains virtually constant at all times.

Description

The invention relates to the coupling of a cantilever foot and the possibility of rotation with the Inclination of the backrest synchronized to the horizontal advancement of the seat surface at one Seating furniture according to the preamble of claim 1.

The coupling should be installed on a swivel chair. This (office) chair or seating should synchronize the inclination of the backrest with the advancement of the seat so that the Users always have almost the same distance from hands to work tools on the machine Has table surface.

Stand der Technik:State of the art:

The ergonomics of long-term sitting require changing posture. The Rubber balls and swing spring seats give the body no rest and always have to be balanced.

There are inventions for chairs that tilt the backrest backwards with the advance couple the seat. The movement of the seat takes place in the known inventions in usually with complicated levers, but too little horizontal movement of the Allow seat.

This (synchronous) idea is especially for chairs that are not swivel chairs, if there too were invented for other reasons, have been known for a long time, see CH 26 97 55. There the connected by a swivel seat and the backrest together with one above attached support surface even transformed into a horizontal table surface or unfolded, whereby the seat pushes forward strongly and also the backrest and support surface lower it completely flat.

As a rule, however, the reason for the construction of such synchronous seats is good achievable comfortable sitting posture. An example of technology (slightly) more forward moving Seats are shown in the patent EP 0 460 717 A2 for a swivel chair, although there actually a locking device for this movement is claimed as a patent. The inclination of the Backrest, which is again attached to the seat with a swivel, is over the movable armrests attached to swivel joints as essential mounting levers for the Backrest allows. A tension spring attached under the seat keeps this on the Backrest acting weight of the person in balance. The seat is also in slightly changed his inclination.

A similar further example of the technology of movable seats is in the patent DE 33 15 237 A1 shown. But here the backrest is not over the armrest but directly from Brackets held the base of the base as well as the seat, however slides longitudinally forward when the backrest tilts.

Mängel der bekannten Technik:Defects of the known technology:

However, the horizontal movement of the seat in these chairs is deliberately only so slight chosen, otherwise these chairs in the extended state of the seat with the Users could tip over. So the inventors have a sweeping Construction with the actual achievement of the above-mentioned goal is probably still dispensed with. Or you would have a huge support area on the floor for the feet of the chair reserve, which of course has not been done. Nor are you anchoring office chairs not on the ground. A magnetic switchable liability would still be the best thing for it.

But the actual purpose is not achieved because the horizontal movement for the Compensation must be about 30 to 35 cm with a backrest inclination difference of approx. 30 to 40 degrees.

The rubber seat balls etc. are only aids, since they do not solve the distance problem and that eternal balancing favor the falling. But you give the spine different seating positions no backrest.

Technische Aufgabe:Technical task:

The horizontal movement of the seat should be without disturbing noises and efforts function. But the advantages and dimensions of a normal swivel office chair are said to be remain as possible, at least in the normal sitting position.

Lösung:Solution:

Die o.a. The above Object is solved by the characterizing features of claim 1.

The dependent claims define preferred or advantageous embodiments of the Seating furniture.

Various approaches can be taken to solve this task. The The base of the (office) swivel chair usually consists of 5 feet with the well-known gas spring mechanism for vertical height adjustment. The well-known approach to technical The task regarding the seat and backrest is based on lever mechanisms that are coupled are with (too) little sliding movement, so that the center of gravity is definitely not too far gets to the front.

In the new design approach, the main focus is on the sufficient sliding movement supported by small lever movements for a desired inclination of the seat could become. The focus is shifted significantly forward, so that actually there is a risk of the seat falling over, if not additional Construction elements would act against it. The possibility of a huge Support area on the floor can not be included because the user has such devices will not buy.

The falling over can also be prevented by heavy weights that are movable or be immovably attached to the chair, with large e.g. crescent-shaped weights that attach backwards, down to the lower pivot point of the backrest lever or the base there, e.g. between all or part of the foot segments. This is also not very popular since it is the Transportation and manufacturing costs go up and then the chair for the user possibly a monstrous chair figure. If you also reposition the Seat made by the weight, you have a constant restoring force against the force of spring balancers (Fig. 5).

The solution can be achieved by one or more additional outrigger feet that extend or fold out to the front. An additional foot is about in the movement Position between the feet / legs of the user. The folding of a boom foot (Fig. 6) (Fig. 5) has the advantage of fewer problems in the operation and life of this To make mechanics; but it doesn't look quite as good when the chair is not used. The Folding downward movement can be vertical or even oblique, which is a little longer Arm under the chair. There is a step on the side of the boom folding foot attached, which allows a foot control to extend, as well as a lever to release this extended boom foot. The boom foot can snap into place or through a Clutch are held down there.

The (telescopic) extension is particularly suitable for motorized chairs. There are two options: An existing foot is converted into a telescopic foot. The Cantilever foot always remains in the human foot area.

Or, directly under the seat, a support telescope is moved diagonally downwards to the floor from there; In the following, this outrigger foot is called a supporting telescope, which supports the chair like a 6th leg on the floor approx. 20-35 cm in front of the chair before the chair can be moved from the normal position to the strongly inclined position of the backrest. Extending the support telescope may also be operated and locked with the foot or extended by means of a hand crank. In very expensive versions of the chair, this could also be done electrically or pneumatically, hydraulically, as well as the telescopes for the seat-surface movement. When extended, the support telescope (boom foot) is lowered obliquely from above, towards the bottom under the seat at the front; it then lies diagonally between the legs of the user when extended, which is not perceived as optimal. Securing the coupling means that the backrest inclination and seat positions can only be changed when this support telescope exerts pressure on the floor; the rotary movement is then also blocked.
However, the fold-out foot, which is only in the foot area at the bottom, seems to be more acceptable to the user.

  • Now you can differentiate between three situations in this fall-over problem for sliding seats, whereby case C appears to be the cheapest solution:
  • A: The backrest (and thus the seat) can be fixed in any tilt position. This requires the largest support area on the ground. Because the user can also tilt his body and thus the center of gravity forward on the changed seat. The outrigger foot must touch about 35 cm forward. The extension arm is a simple option for non-motorized chairs.
The next solutions B and C require a smaller support area, i.e. only shorter outrigger feet. The outrigger foot then only has to touch about 20 cm forward.
  • B: The backrest cannot be fixed and is sprung with a restoring force that pushes forward. The disadvantage of this solution is that the spring force must be precisely regulated (for every user weight, however large). The user has to constantly struggle with the potential movement and has no actual backrest but only a resilient support.
  • C: The backrest cannot be fixed with respect to the forward movement - that is, the backrest comes forward as soon as the user bends forward - with such a low restoring force that just move the seat back with the user can, and the backrest can only be fixed against leaning back with an additional lever. This allows the user to sit back and relax, but the risk of tipping forward with the entire chair is reduced since the chair immediately moves the seat backwards when the user leans forward and changes the center of gravity. As soon as the user wants to put the backrest back, he has to operate a lever etc. to loosen the lock. A freewheel with a hand-operated clutch can, for example, make this one-sided free movement possible. A tooth ratchet clutch also does it, but it is not stepless and noiseless. This lever could also be controlled as a foot switch. it can also be integrated into the backrest and operated with the head or a special back pressure or arm pressure.
Further consideration is required for the coupling between the cantilever foot on the lower frame, the rotating movement of the chair and the possibility of tilting the backrest; otherwise you would have to have an outrigger foot in all directions, but only forward. If the (additional) outrigger foot has been folded out at the bottom, the rotation of the chair is blocked and only then is the strong horizontal displacement of the seat and the strong inclination of the backrest released and enabled.
The coupling can be easily achieved by two cables with locking bolts during rotation and displacement. Or a cable pull from the outrigger foot to under the seat and there a possibly foldable lever mechanism for the other purpose, because the height adjustment of the lower frame must be taken into account. In the case of motorized chairs, this can be done by a simple control logic. However, the extension foot can also be rotatably attached to the top frame / seat with an extension downwards; then the underframe does not have to be positioned before unfolding. However, this is more complicated to construct because of the height adjustability. (Fig. 11) The cable can also be replaced by a lever mechanism, possibly with universal joints; only the height adjustability of the device must remain.
However, the backrest itself can consist of two parts: The backrest itself can be a further support towards the user, which is parallel to the "backrest parallel"
something is movable due to plain bearings or small levers; The actual backrest itself is then held up by weak springs. The construction of the backrest parallel can be used in all the following chairs. The point is to balance the upset movement on the user's body during the tilt.

The seat should be easy to move. These properties are achieved through the Storage on 1 or 2 parallel telescopes with double extensions that fit the seat allow for far-reaching horizontal movement while at the rear end of the Seat the backrest (parallel) fixed below with a swivel joint (s) on the seat is. A long spring within these telescopes ensures that the seat is reset Normal attitude. Alternatively, one or more springs in one of the (3) Provide swivel joints for the reset. Even a weight is for this purpose conceivable that pulls on the cables on the seat backwards.

Now you can do 4 different mechanics of connecting the seat and Backrest (parallel) and optional backrest lever with the lower frame differ. Common to all is that the back seat with the backrest (parallel) (Fig. 10) is connected below by a swivel, which just makes an adjustable seat given is. Of course you can also use this coupling with a coupling train to give the chair the alternative of a perfectly normal chair; that is, the backrest tilts, but the seat does not move forward. Different from a) to d) is the guidance of the upper point of the backrest (parallel). trivially you can see the lengths, inclinations of the levers / telescopes described below make adjustable to allow the user different settings.

    a) (Fig. 1), (Fig. 9)a) (Fig. 1), (Fig. 9)

Another lever mechanism - hereinafter referred to as backrest lever - is at the top of the Backrest (parallel) is fastened again with a swivel joint and is lowered in about the same length as the backrest to the base part - here is meant upper part above the vertical gas spring - of the chair and there again fixed with a swivel. So the seat runs back and forth with the telescope. This Construction consists of 3 system parts, a horizontal seat on the Telescopes - and a backrest (parallel) - which can only be made up of one or two Rods exist - and one or 2 further vertically rotatable rods or surfaces, the backrest lever, as a support against it; in reality, each for the 3rd Pivots according to the hinge principle, of course, several joints side by side to be available. The movement of the whole structure resembles the movement of the Connecting rod to the engine, only that no complete circular movement is used here, but less than a half.

The backrest lever is e.g. also by an adjustable coupling point to the Backrest parallel something to the different demands of people anpaßbargemacht.

For safety reasons, the mechanics in the back of the chair are equipped with a bellows hidden against the risk of injury. The chair also looks more homogeneous. It is therefore better to use only one rod for the backrest lever.

For reasons of noise, the telescopes with double pull-outs should possibly have ball bearings with plastic balls. Possibly. simple plain bearings are sufficient; however, the static friction can then lead to problems.
The movement of the seat can also be locked with one hand.

    b) (Fig. 2), (Fig. 8)b) (Fig. 2), (Fig. 8)

The backrest has a smaller lever with one on each side Connected swivel, which in turn connected to a swivel at one vertical extension of the base hangs. But that requires very high chairs.

    c) (Fig. 3)c) (Fig. 3)

The backrest has a smaller lever on either side or in the middle connected to a swivel, which in turn connected to a swivel a vertical extension of the base hangs.

    d) (Fig. 4)d) (Fig. 4)

The backrest has a shorter one on either side or in the middle (Double-barreled) telescopic extension that runs diagonally backwards and that on one vertical extension of the base hangs. The inclination of this telescope can possibly be set.

    Vorteile:Benefits:

Man can ergonomically change his body in steeper or inclined Keep the backrest on the chair so that back ailments do not happen so quickly may occur. However, the chair offers restful resting positions for the User. The position of the outstretched hand towards the table has not changed much, while the seat on the chair moves back and forth when the backrest inclines changes.

Weiterbildungen der Erfindungen:Further developments of the inventions:

The electrically operated chair may be more attractive and comfortable. Depending on the number of engines, the different parts can be controlled independently of one another; however, the effort increases and the operational reliability decreases accordingly. And the chair has the disadvantage of being dependent on cables or batteries. But the seating parameters could be changed extremely slowly and steadily in an adjustable range at the request of the user
In addition, all of these systems can of course also be equipped with the usual adjustment options for swinging, tilting, backrest adjustments, etc. The basic version does not have armrests, because the patented movable armrests made of DP 197 09 481, which are independent of the chair, are very suitable for working with this movable chair, since their movement is possible up to 1 m, i.e. 35 cm here can be reached without problems.
Otherwise, the armrest must be attached to the seat so that the position to the person is about maintained. Using small levers, you can still adapt this to the user's body movement.
By default, slightly lower support points are also conceivable at about the location of the armrests (FIG. 7), which make it easier for the user to tilt backwards by supporting them; these can then be upgraded, attached to armrests if desired.
