    Claims (4)

    1. Weapon having a barrel (3), which is mounted in a cradle (2) so as to be displaceable from a normal position into a recoil position and the breech ring (4) of which comprises a wedge breech block (5) having a breech block wedge (7), which is displaceable transversely relative to the bore axis (6) of the barrel (3) from a closed position into an open position, wherein
      disposed on the breech ring (4) is a piston rod (8), which is axially displaceable from a normal position into an actuating position and which in its normal position at its end facing the cradle (2) projects beyond the breech ring (4) and which at its end remote from the cradle (2) acts via intermediate elements in such a way upon an opener lever (9) connected to the breech block wedge (7) that a displacement of the piston rod (8) in the direction of the breech block wedge (7) leads to a swivelling motion of the opener lever (9) and hence to opening of the breech block wedge (7);

      the control unit (11) comprises both an operating rod (13), which is displaceable counter to the pressure of a first spring (12) axially in the direction of the muzzle of the barrel (3) and is aligned with the piston rod (8), and a control rod (15), which is displaceable counter to the pressure of a second spring (14) axially in the direction of the muzzle of the barrel (3) and is aligned with the radial cam (10), as well as a pawl (17), which is pivotable by means of a cam (16) from a detent position into a release position, wherein the cam (16) engages into a recess (18) of the control rod (15) in such a way that in the normal position of the control rod (15) the cam (16) presses the pawl (17) into a detent groove (19) of the operating rod (13) so that the operating rod (13) is axially non-displaceable and that by virtue of displacement of the control rod (15) in the direction of the muzzle of the barrel (3) the cam (16) swivels the pawl (17) into its release position and hence out of the detent groove (19), and
      the lengths of the piston rod (8) and the operating rod (13) are selected in such a way that the breech block wedge (7) during the forward motion of the barrel (3) by virtue of the axial displacement of said rods (8, 13) has already been displaced into its open position before the radial cam (10) effects a displacement of the control rod (15) and hence a swivelling of the pawl (17) into its release position.
    2. Weapon according to claim 1, characterized in that the control unit (11) comprises a housing (100), which is fastened to the cradle (2) and contains the pawl (17), parts of the operating and control rods (13, 15) and the springs (12, 14), and that at the side facing the breech ring (4) the ends of the operating and control rods (13, 15) that act upon the piston rod (8) and the radial cam (10) project outwards.
    3. Weapon according to claim 2, characterized in that disposed on the outside of the housing (100) of the control unit (11) is a manually pivotable operating lever (101), which is connected to the pawl (17), so that by pivoting the operating lever (101) the pawl (17) is pivotable from its detent position into its release position.
