Abstract

The automatically operating device uses a continuously supplied cable strip (2) with ribbed surface and a movable slide carriage (19). The front end of the slide carriage has side holding jaws (25) between which a lock (1) is supplied from above and is off-set by 90 degrees from the channel (3) for the cable strip. An insert channel open to the bottom has locking tongues to engage on the teeth of the ribbed cable strip surface and is defined from the channel by a partition. The channel of the lock aligns when positioned between the jaws with the insert tongue (22) and at the end of the forward movement of the slide carriage the lock held between the jaws can be placed in the outlet opening (30) of the housing so that with the guide jaws (26,27) closed the guide groove therein lies at the inlet end flush with the channel but at the outlet end flush with the insert channel of the lock. The insert tongue can for lifting the locking tongue be inserted in the channel so that the cable strip is driven forwards under the insert tongue through the passage and along the guide groove into the insert channel to engage with the locking tongue.

Description

The invention relates to an automatically operating device, cable band and Vemegelungsschloss for bundling cable harnesses according to the preamble of claim 1 and a working method for this device according to claim 11.

Such a device is known from EP-A-0297 337. However, the device has several disadvantages. The triggerable by an operating lever, automatically running bundling process via a complicated mechanism with many coordinated for the different steps items and is therefore very prone to failure. Because of the complicated mechanics of the individual process is relatively slow. The intermittent supply of chain-like interconnected by locks locks locks takes place via a connected to the operating lever, mechanical drive from below, ie against gravity, in a provisional position in which he from a horizontally movable carriage, which also has a guide channel for the supply of the continuous cable band, and finally in an outlet opening of Device and in front of the guide channel for the cable band to be positioned. Since the first positioning of the individual locking lock in front of the carriage against the force of gravity is uncertain, especially since it lacks a defined stop, a trouble-free sequence of subsequent steps is not guaranteed.

With the device, a specific design of the locking lock for the tensioning of the cable band and adapted thereto training of the cable tie is used. The cable band has on its one surface two parallel but mutually opposing teeth. The substantially cube-shaped locking locks have a through opening, from which opposite surfaces protrude rectified locking tongues, which have over their respective half width and laterally offset, rectified locking teeth, which can come into engagement with the teeth of the cable tie. If, after operation of the device, a locking lock properly positioned in the mouth opening and aligned with the guide channel for the cable band in the carriage, the cable band is pushed by motor before and through the opening in the lock lock through; its end slides along the Führungsbakken closed around a cable bundle until it completely wraps around the cable bundle and again reaches the locking lock and now must be guided in the opposite direction through the opening of the locking lock, wherein the locking tongues engage with the opposing teeth of the cable band should. Thereafter, by reversing the drive, the cable band is tightened until the looped cable bundle is firmly embraced and the rearwardly projecting out of the locking lock ends are cut off.

In particular, if the front end of the cable band, after it has slid along the guide jaws to re-insert into the opening of the lock lock, malfunctions of the operation may occur. The cable band must wrap around the cable bundle by 360 ° and its end must then be returned sharply angled into the opening of the locking lock. This bend must be accomplished only by the fact that the cable band with its front end after the wrapping process in the blunt or right angle before the opening of the locking lock meets on itself and the end is deflected so that it slides into this opening. Since a defined stop for the end of the cable strap is missing, it can not be checked whether the end has actually found its way back into the opening and whether it is advanced far enough to ensure secure engagement of the locking tongues in the toothing of the cable strap , or whether it protrudes again into the guide channel for the cable band and causes disruption in the device after truncation as a non-disposed piece of waste.

The cutting of the cable band behind the locking lock happens while the cable band is still under tension for the tensioning process. Practice has shown that then there is the danger that the short cut behind the locking lock end of the cable strap can jump out of the lock lock again, the entire bundling process must be so failed and must be repeated.

Furthermore, there is a need to separate the bundled cable strands at intervals with special attachment means, e.g. to attach to a support member or a housing wall. The ability to attach such fasteners to the cable bundles is not given in the known device.

The object of the invention is to provide a device, cable and locking lock of the type mentioned, which works absolutely trouble-free, safe and time-saving; after wrapping a cable bundle with the cable tie and tightening this band secure engagement of the locking tabs must be ensured in the lock with the cable tie, which may not loosen or even solve after cutting the cable tie behind the lock lock. Waste of cable tape should be avoided. In addition, the possibility should be provided, if necessary, in a single operation with the bundling of the cable strands to attach fastening means to the cable bundle, with which the cable bundle can be anchored to a support member.

This is achieved in a device, cable tie and locking lock of the type mentioned in that are provided on the guide jaws facing the end of the carriage lateral holding jaws, between which a lock lock from above can be fed, which except the push-through, to this by 90 ° offset, a downwardly open insertion channel with locking tongues therein for engagement with the Toothing or corrugation of the cable band has, wherein the insertion channel is bounded by a partition wall with respect to the penetration channel. In the position of the locking lock between the holding jaws whose Durchsteckkanal is aligned with the insertion tongue. At the end of the forward movement of the carriage held between the holding jaws locking lock in the outlet opening of the housing is placed in such a way that in the closed state of the guide jaws, the guide channel provided therein at its inlet end with the through-channel and at its outlet end with the insertion channel of the locking latch and the insertion tongue to raise the locking tongue in the push-through channel can be inserted, so that the cable band is pushed under the insertion through the push-through channel and along the guide groove to the insertion channel for engagement with the locking tongue driven by a motor.

By the lateral holding jaws the locking lock is immediately held in a safe and precise for the further progress position, without first having to take an intermediate position. The lock locks can be removed from a loosely poured stock, their placement is safe in the direction of gravity from above. The insertion and locking of the cable band in the lock lock is safer and more reliable by the feed end of the cable band at the end of the looping must not be returned by the same through-hole in the opposite direction, but is inserted into a separate from the through-channel and perpendicular to this insertion channel.

According to a preferred embodiment of the invention, holders are provided in the housing on both sides of the outlet opening, on which fastening means supplied from above can come to rest, which serve to fasten the cable bundles to a carrier part. For this purpose, a projecting through the brackets down in the path of movement of the carriage head portion of this fastener on an aligned with the push-through channel of the locking lock eyelet and the fastener can be detected by the carriage in its forward movement and taken to the position in the outlet opening. Thus, on the one hand the bundling of the cables can be carried out in one operation and on the other hand, if necessary, a fastening means for the cable bundle itself can be provided at the bundling point.

In order to safely take the Befestigugnsmittel in the movement and then to be able to place, on the carriage advantageously a driver is provided which engages in the forward movement of the carriage on a projecting collar of the fastener.

In the device can be arranged on both sides of the outlet opening a first pair of retaining clips for the locking lock and a second pair of retaining clips for the fastening means to secure their position in the outlet opening.

Preferably, the feeding device for the fastening means including an ejection channel for separated from the fastening means conveyor belt is arranged in a detachable module removable module. If anchoring of the cable bundle to a carrier part is not required in an application, the interchangeable module can be removed from the device and replaced by a cover.

Preferably, the guide jaws for gripping the cables to be bundled are manually closed and opened, while all further steps of the device are programmatically controlled after actuation of a trigger.

The switching point of the drive motor of the cable band from push to pull can also be defined by the measurable feed of the cable strap; For this purpose, a light barrier can be provided in the device in the region of the start or zero position of the cable band.

About the gear 14 , a laterally arranged thereon pinion 18 is driven to the one example, from a supply roll, not shown, continuously fed, continuous cable band 2 is placed so that the teeth of the pinion 18 with the toothing or corrugation 10 of the cable strip 2 is engaged and the cable band 2 can be promoted or pushed by driving the pinion 18 so. Further, in the housing 13, a carriage 19 is slidably guided on guide rails 20 in the longitudinal direction back and forth. The drive of the carriage 19 can be done in both directions, for example by means of Bowden cable (not shown) or for the return movement into the starting position with spring return.

In the carriage 19 is an oblique, continuous guide channel 21, which is brought in the course of actuation of the device (see below) with the outlet opening of an insertion channel 60 in coverage, through which the cable band 2 is supplied from the pinion 18 coming. On the upper side of the carriage 19 , a slider 24 is slidably mounted, to which an insertion tongue 22 is attached preferably resilient material which extends with its free end over the outlet opening of the guide channel 21 in the carriage 19 , this covers, and resilient on the Top of the carriage 19 rests. The slider 24 is driven to move on the carriage 19 by an electromagnet 15 .

At the front end of the carriage 19 lateral holding jaws 25 are provided. Above them, a feed tube 23 entering from above the housing 13 for the lock locks 1 according to FIG. 1 opens. The feed locks 23 advantageously allow the lock locks 1 to be released from a loosely stocked supply after having been conveyed, for example, by a screw conveyor (not shown) another suitable device has been isolated, piece by piece, possibly by means of compressed air supplied. The single locking lock 1 falls into the space between the holding jaws 25 and is held by them in a provisional position. Alternatively, the supply of the locking locks 1 can also take place with the aid of a transport strip, which is preferably reusable for waste prevention.

At the front end of the housing 13 guide jaws 26, 27 are provided, of which one 26 preferably fixed and the other 27 is pivotable about an axis 28 on the housing 13 , so that the guide jaws 26, 27 can be opened and closed like a pincers, wherein they form an approximately circular, closed, inner guide groove 29 in the closed state. In Fig. 5 both positions of the pivotable guide jaw 27 are shown with different line width.

In alignment with the front end of the carriage 19 is in the housing 13 of the device, an outlet opening 30 , which opens into the space enclosed by the guide jaws 26, 27 , preferably tightly under the pivotable guide jaw 27 and in the guide groove 29 . On both sides of the outlet opening 30 is located within the housing 13, a first pair of spring clips 31 , which are held in pivotable about axes 61 pivoting jaws 62 . When inserting a locking lock 1 in the outlet opening 30 by the carriage 19 , the swivel jaws 62 are pivoted by formed at the front end of the carriage 19 slopes so that the spring clips 31 create the locking latch 1 side and hold it in position (see below, and FIGS. 7a to 7f and FIG. 9).

In the device, the possibility is provided to attach at bundling points of the cable bundle at different, programmable distance fastening means 32 , with which the cable bundle can be anchored to a support member. Namely, the attachment of each such fastener 32 in a single operation with the bundling, so the attachment and Tighten the cable strap 2 happen. The device has for this purpose a special exchange module 33 , which can be used in the front region of the device if necessary. Fig. 6 shows the device with the removable module 33 removed; the recess of the housing 13 , which can accommodate the removable module 33 is then advantageously closed by a correspondingly shaped cover 34 to protect the interior of the device and especially the moving parts against contamination. In Fig. 6, the cover 34 is shown partially broken away, so that the Zuführror 23 for the locking locks 1 and the front end of the carriage 19 are visible.

When inserted into the device exchange module 33 as shown in FIG. 5 fasteners 32 can be supplied from above the device; they are placed in the starting position of the device in front of the carriage 19 , for which purpose lateral supports 35 are provided in the interchangeable module 33 , on which the fastening means 32 can come to rest.

A possible embodiment of such fastening means 32 is shown in Fig. 3 together with a suitable means of transport. The fastening means 32 consist of a spring-trained mounting foot 36 for anchoring the cable bundle on a support member and a head portion 37 which is provided with an eyelet 38 or a slot for passing the cable strap 2 . For automatic feeding of the fastening means 32 , they are connected to each other in a row by sprue strips 39 which extend during the casting process along a formed between the head part 37 and mounting foot 36 umbrella-like collar 40 . The initially resulting due to production sprue strips 39 are used as a means of transport to be able to perform the attachment means 32 of a supply roll the device. For this purpose, the sprue strips 39 may be provided with teeth 45 , in which interchangeable module 33 on both sides arranged gears 63 can engage. Parallel to the gears 63 and on the same drive shaft 64 knife blades 66 are preferably arranged, which at the feed of the fastener 32 at predetermined breaking points 65 (see FIG. 3) separate from the runners 39 or the predetermined breaking points 65 at least.

As can be seen from Fig. 5, the fastening means 32 thus supplied come with their collar 40 on the brackets 35 for support, that the head part 37 with its eyelet 38 in the movement path of the holding jaws 25 of the carriage 19 is located. As will be described below with reference to FIGS. 7a to 7f explained in more detail, the head portion 37 19 comes with its eyelet 38 during the forward movement of the carriage between the holding jaws 25 in abutment with the transported by the carriage 19 latch lock 1. In addition, a driver 41 is provided on the carriage 19 , which engages with a notch 42 on the collar 40 of the fastener 32 , it holds in position so that it is taken in the further movement of the carriage 19 . In this case, the relevant fastener 32 is separated from the serving as a transport sprue strip 39 at the cut predetermined breaking points 65 . At the end of the forward movement of the carriage 19 , when the locking lock 1 is placed in the outlet opening 30 of the device, the fastening means 32 , as already indicated in Fig. 5, pushes to a part with through the correspondingly formed outlet opening 30 , where it second pair of spring clips 43 , which is arranged next to the first pair of spring clips 31 laterally of the outlet opening 30 in the pivoting jaws 62 , is additionally held (see also Fig. 9). In the pivotally mounted end of the guide jaw 27 , a recess 44 is provided, which provides the fastening means 32 in this position.

Within the exchange module 33 , an ejection channel 46 is provided, through which the advancing of the fastening means 32, which are gradually separated from these run gate strips 39 and conveyed out of the device, after which they can be recycled.

Laterally in the housing 13 of the device, a cutting device 47 is provided next to the outlet opening 30 , from which in Fig. 8 is a plan view is reproduced. It is arranged in the housing 13 so that its knife 48 at the end of a cycle horizontally and perpendicular to the plane of Fig. 5 and 6 can be moved immediately behind the outlet opening 30 and the locking mechanism 1 placed therein to the cable band 2 just behind to be able to cut off the locking lock 1 . The consumption of cable tape 2 is limited to the really necessary and there is no waste.

According to the embodiment of the cutting device 47 shown in FIG. 8, a U-shaped component 52 is screwed to the lateral housing wall 49 . Between the two U-legs, a guide rod 53 is arranged, on which an angled support member 54 of the blade 48 is displaceable. For this purpose, a lever 56 which can be actuated by a Bowden cable 55 engages on the foot of the carrier part 54 . The connection between the lever 56 and the foot of the support member 54 is by means of a pin 57 and slot 58 produced. The Bowden cable 55 is driven programmatically by an external motor.

In the following, the operation of the device will be described in more detail with reference to FIGS. 7a to 7f, which show a sequence of operations during an operating cycle of the device. It is assumed that the cable band 2 inserted through a housing slot 67 , placed around the pinion 18 and its front end is inserted into the insertion channel 60 and the supply of the locking locks 1 and the fastening means 32 can be activated. The start and the process of the steps of the device is largely programmatically.

First, the device is brought with open guide jaw 27 in the predetermined position on a to be bundled and to be attached to a support member cable harness 59 . A sensor on the device identifies this position via a coding system and the received signal is compared with a predetermined signal. If the two signals match, the supply of the locking locks 1 is automatically initiated by the feed tube 23 and the transport of the fastening means 32 by the gears 63 via their runners 39 serving as a conveyor belt. Thereafter, there is a locking lock 1 between the holding jaws 25 at the front end of the carriage 19 and a fastening means 32 rests with its collar 40 on the brackets 35 in front of the outlet opening 30 (Fig. 7a). The supply of the locking lock 1 is carried out so that its push-through channel 3 is in the alignment of the slidable with the slider 24 on the slide 19 insertion tongue 22 and its insertion channel 4 with the opening facing down.

If, in contrast, the above-mentioned signals do not match, then no positioning of a locking lock 1 and a fastening means 32 takes place , and no program start of the device is possible.

If the position of the device has been recognized as correct, the guide jaws 26, 27 are manually closed and locked around the cables 59 to be bundled; then the trigger 12 is operated on the device, whereby the electrical signal for the program start is triggered. According to the program, first the carriage 19 , for example via Bowden cable, moved forward, taking with it the locking jaw 1 held by its holding jaws 25 . The carriage 19 reaches the intermediate position according to FIG. 7 b, in which the head part 37 of the fastening means 32 between the projecting holding jaws 25 of the carriage 19 so on the lock lock 1 comes to rest, that the eyelet 38 of the head portion 37 is at a height with the push-through channel 3 of the lock lock 1 . In addition, the notch 42 on the driver 41 of the carriage 19 engages the circumference of the collar 40 of the fastener 32 so that it is held in position even after the subsequent separation of the fastener 32 from its runners 39 . The carriage 19 continues to move forwardly until the locking lock 1 and the fastening means 32 are placed in the outlet opening 30 of the device in the mounting position shown in FIG. 7c, where they are detected and held by the lateral spring clips 31 and 43 , respectively. In this movement of the carriage 19 also comes obliquely through it passing guide channel 21 to coincide with the outlet opening of the insertion channel 60 for the cable band second

At the end of the forward movement of the carriage 19 , the solenoid 15 is activated according to the program, and thereby the slider 24 is moved forward on the carriage 19 ; In this case, the insertion tongue 22 fastened on it slides under the first tooth 8 of the locking tongue 6 in the push-through channel 3 of the locking lock 1 . Subsequently, the pinion 18 is driven by an external electric motor via the flexible shaft 17 rotation and the cable band 2 is advanced. Its front end slides out of the insertion channel 60 through the guide channel 21 in the carriage 19 under the insertion tongue 22 and through the through-channel 3 and the eyelet 38 in the head part 37 of the fastening means 32 ; it passes into the guide groove 29 of the closed, the bunching cables 59 enclosing guide jaws 26, 27 and pushes forward in it until its end enters the aligned with the exit of the guide groove 29 in the guide jaw 26 insertion channel 4 of the lock lock 1 , at the wall 5 between the insertion channel 4 and 3 push-through channel abuts and with its toothing or corrugation 10 on the teeth 9 of the locking tongue 7 of the insertion channel 4 engages (Figure 7d).

The stop of the cable band 2 in the insertion channel 4 can be determined by the power consumption of the drive motor is continuously measured. Alternatively or additionally, as a control, a distance measurement can be made on the cable band 2 and determined to what extent it has been promoted. For this purpose, a light barrier can be provided laterally in the housing, preferably at the starting position of the cable band end in the insertion channel 60 . The way the cable band 2 from this point through the guide channel 21 of the carriage 19 and the guide groove 29 of the guide jaws 26, 27 must go back to the lock 1 , is constant. From both measurements, a signal can be derived, which indicates when the end of the cable band 2 is locked in the insertion channel 4 of the locking lock 1 and can not be further promoted. Then the motor is reversed in its direction of rotation and thus from thrust to train, at the same time the slider 24 is returned by the electromagnet 15 in its relative starting position on the carriage and thus the locking tongue 22 is withdrawn from the Durchsteckkanal 3 , so that subsequently the locking tongue 6 with the corrugation 10 of the cable band can come into engagement.

The cable band 2 is withdrawn through the through-channel 3 of the locking lock 1 and in the direction of the engagement teeth 8 until it tightly spans the cable bundle 59 (FIG. 7e). This point is also determined by measuring the power consumption of the motor. The assignment of the desired tightening force to the required engine power can be determined experimentally and entered into the program control. After reaching the tightening force so determined, the drive of the pinion 18 is stopped, so that the cable band 2 is no longer under train. Thereafter, only when the cable band 2 is thus relieved, the cutting operation on the cutting device 47 (see Fig. 8) is triggered and the cable band 2 by the perpendicular to the plane of Fig. 5 or 7e advancing knife 48 just behind the locking lock. 1 cut off.

By the cable belt 2 is released prior to the cutting, it is ensured that the teeth 8 engage securely the locking tab 6 in the push-through channel 3 in the teeth or grooves 10 of the cable belt 2 takes place and a secure locking. Thus, there is no longer a risk that the cable belt 2 jumps due to a remaining stress after cutting a tooth 8 of the locking tab 6 or even completely pops out from the latching lock. 1 It is also achieved that the cable band 2 is always cut at a defined location at a distance from the end face of the locking tongue 6 , which in turn ensures that at each subsequent bundling process the feed end of the cable band 2 defined in the insertion channel 4 of the next locking lock 1 on the wall 5 abuts and with two teeth 9 of the locking tongue 7 comes into secure engagement and thus each time the optimum effect of the closure is achieved.

After cutting off the cable band 2 , it is retracted to its initial or zero position in the insertion channel 60 (FIG. 7f) and the carriage 19 together with the slider 24 are moved back to their original positions. The guide jaws 26, 27 are opened manually and the device is guided to the next bundling point.

Es kann somit kein Befestigungsmittel 32 an falscher Stelle plaziert werdenIn the process as described above, a fastener 32 was attached at the same time and in one operation with the bundling of the cables at the bundling point, with which the cable bundle can be anchored to a support member. Normally, it is not necessary to have such a fastener 32 attached to each bundling site. The positions to which a fastener 32 is to be attached may be indicated by a code recognized by the sensor of the device. In the program control is then provided that if a particular code feature can not be identified, the supply of the fasteners 32 is interrupted and in the other bundles only starts again when the code in question is read. Thus, no fastener 32 can be placed in the wrong place

If an anchoring of the cable bundle is not intended or desired at all in a specific application, the interchangeable module 33 can be removed from the device and the device can only be used in the state shown in FIG. 6 for bundling cables 59 . Appropriately, instead of the exchange module 33, a cover 34 is used to protect the interior of the device from dirt and damage.
