Description

The present invention relates to the technical field of the packaging of products at their place of sale and / or packaging and, in particular, products food retail, wholesale or semi-wholesale.

The present invention aims, preferably but not exclusively, at a packaging in the form of a sheath intended to be cut at the request and be sealed.

In the field of food packaging, the patent FR 2 775 252 has proposed to use a compound sheath, at least in part, in a heat-sealable material. This sheath consists of two sheets superimposed and assembled composites (by bonding or welding, for example) level of their longitudinal edges. Each composite sheet has a layer external aluminum, an inner layer of low density polyethylene and a layer of paper covered with a layer of low density polyethylene. This sheath, packaged in roll, is intended to be cut on the place of use in a slightly longer than the product to be packaged. Preferably, a end of the sheath is cut and closed simultaneously by heat sealing to make a bag. Then, after introduction of the product to be packaged in the bag thus produced, the other end of the sheath is heat-welded so as to get a waterproof package.

The use of such a packaging sheath is particularly useful for the fresh or frozen food products, such as fish and meat, when selling these retail, wholesale or semi-wholesale.

However, for the introduction of the product to be packaged into the bag as well realized, the user must open it by spreading the composite sheets. In some conditions of use, it sometimes appears difficult to open the bag, especially when the user has wet hands or is wearing gloves.

The present invention therefore aims to remedy the drawbacks mentioned above by proposing a new packaging for food products intended to be closed by heat sealing, and designed to allow the easy opening of packaging to introduce the product to be packaged, even for a user possessing wet hands or wearing gloves.

To achieve such an objective, the present invention relates to a packaging for foodstuffs, intended to comprise two superposed composite sheets, each composite sheet having at least one layer of plastics material heat sealable forming the inner surface of the package. According to the invention, each heat-sealable plastic layer has a roughness BENDTSEN DIN 53108 less than or equal to 1 200 ml / min and in that the layers of heat-sealable plastic material have, among themselves, a coefficient of friction less than or equal to 0.5 to ensure easy opening of the sheath.

Various other features are apparent from the description given below in reference to the accompanying drawings which show, by way of non-limiting examples, embodiments of the invention.

Fig. 1 is a top view showing an embodiment of a packaging according to the invention.

Fig. 2 is a large-scale sectional view showing the structure of a package according to the invention.

Fig. 1 shows an embodiment of a package 1 in the form of a sheath cut from a sheath 2 packaged generally in roll. In the example shown, the sheath 2 comprises two superimposed composite sheets 4, 5 which, in the example illustrated, are assembled together at their longitudinal edges 6 by welding, bonding or mechanical assembly, for example. This sheath 2 is cut to the desired length to contain a food product 7 , such as fish. Preferably, during the cutting of the sheath 2 to constitute the package 1, a transverse weld connecting the two longitudinal edges 6 is formed on one end 11 of the package 1 which is thus in the form of a bag, capable of being opened by the other transverse end 12 having an opening giving access to the internal volume of the bag.

According to one characteristic of the invention, each composite sheet 4, 5 comprises at least one layer 14 of a heat-sealable or heat-sealable plastic material having an outer surface 14a together forming the inner surface of the sheath, as is clear from FIG. 2. Thus, each composite sheet 4, 5 has a layer of heat-sealable material 14 facing each other by their outer surface 14a, to heat-seal the two sheets 4, 5 between them. Thus, since the layers of heat-sealing plastic material 14 are against each other, the application of localized pressure between the sheets 4, 5 for example at the transverse edges of the sheath, supplemented by localized heating allows to obtain a weld of leaves between them.

It must therefore be understood that each composite sheet 4, 5 comprises at least one layer of a heat-sealable plastic material.

According to a preferred embodiment which will be described in the following description, the material constituting the heat-sealable plastic layer 14 is a low-density polyethylene (LDPE). Of course, it may be provided to make the heat-sealable plastic layer 14 with a different material such as for example polypropylene, glue or heat-sealable wax, or a layer of heat-sealable material deposited by dispersion.

According to the invention, each heat-sealable plastic layer 14 has a roughness according to the BENDTSEN technique DIN 53 108, less than or equal to 1200 milliliters per minute and according to an advantageous characteristic, of between 800 and 1200 ml / min, and more preferably of the order of 910 ml / min.

The roughness can be obtained on each heat-sealable plastic layer 14 by means for example of a rough heavy cylinder, coming into contact with the outer surface 14 a of the heat-sealable plastic layer 14. For example, the plastic layer Heat sealable is achieved by extruding copolymers of EAA type [(Ethylene-Acrylic-Acid) additives for LDPE] and all types of LDPE. All types of extrusion or coextrusion coating are included in the invention.

According to another characteristic of the invention, the layers of heat-sealable plastic material 14 have between them a coefficient of friction of less than or equal to 0.5 and preferably between 0.25 and 0.35 and, more preferably, order of 0.3 according to DIN 53 375.

Such a coefficient of friction can be obtained by extrusion or coextrusion of specific polymers (certain types of modified LDPE) and / or the addition of less a slip agent, such as, for example, the product referenced 252 CH marketed under the trade name EXXON.

The combined use of heat-sealable plastic layers 14 , having a specific roughness associated with a determined coefficient of friction makes it possible to ensure easy opening of the sheath. Indeed, such a package 1 can be easily opened, even by wet hands or gloves, from its free edges by a simple movement of friction between the two sheets 4, 5 . Such easy opening is possible thanks to the present invention of "easy sheath opening", and by a determination of friction, roughness, slippage for heat-sealable plastic layers 14 against each other.

According to a preferred embodiment, each composite sheet 4, 5 comprises the heat-sealable plastic layer 14 deposited on a paper layer 15 , preferably of high mechanical strength. Preferably, each composite sheet 4, 5 also comprises an inner heat-sealable plastic layer 16 interposed between the paper layer 15 and an outer layer of aluminum 17 preferably coated with a printing varnish.

In the example described above, the sheath forming the package 1 consists of two composite sheets 4, 5 placed in superposed position one against the other and assembled along their two longitudinal edges 6 . Of course, it can be envisaged to make the package 1 in the form of a seamless sheath or a sheath with a single weld obtained by folding a sheet on itself and welding the free edges opposite to the fold. Similarly, the packaging 1 can be made from the folding of a sheet on itself in order to obtain the two superimposed composite sheets 4, 5 which are assembled at their edges to form a bag having an opening access to its internal volume which is closed by heat sealing after introduction of the product to be packaged inside the package. In general, the packaging according to the invention is intended to comprise at least two superimposed composite sheets 4, 5 as described above and which, assembled at their edges, for example by gluing, by welding or by mechanical assembly, allow to constitute a bag with an opening for the introduction of the product to be conditioned .The opening of the bag is then closed by heat sealing as explained above.

Moreover, it can be provided that each composite sheet 4, 5 has a different structure from that described. For example, it may be provided to replace the inner layer of heat-sealable plastics material 16 through a layer of glue. It may be possible to use a non-aluminum material. However, each composite sheet 4, 5 should have at least one layer of heat-sealable plastic material, in order to heat-seal the two sheets.
