Claims (5)

  1. Device for cutting a wire (4), in particular a spring wire, to length, comprising a holder (2) having a bearing surface (3) for guiding a wire (4) moving in a feed direction (V) and a cut-off tool (1) having a cutting edge (5) movable towards the bearing surface (3) in a bearing guide (6), the bearing guide (6) allowing the cutting edge (5) to move in the feed direction (V) and the cut-off tool (1) to pivot about an axis of rotation arranged in the end region of the cut-off tool (1) opposite the cutting edge (5), characterised in that the axis of rotation is arranged at a distance (a) from the cutting edge (5) against the feed direction (V).
  2. Cutting-to-length device according to claim 1, characterised in that the bearing guide for the cut-off tool (1) has a return element (7) and a stop shoulder (8) pointing in the feed direction (V).
  3. Cutting-to-length device according to one of claims 1 to 2, characterised in that the cut-off tool (1) is perpendicular to the bearing surface (3) in the initial position.
  4. Cutting-to-length device according to one of claims 1 to 3, characterised in that the bearing surface (3) has a guide device for guiding the wire (4) transversely to the feed direction (V).
