Abstract
Description
- The present invention concerns a wet room floor or a roof surface with a slope towards a drain, formed by at least two separate, adjacent positioned sheet elements.
- It is important to provide sufficient run off of water from, for example, a floor in a wet room, such as a shower, to the floor drain. If -the inclination is too large, such a floor is uncomfortable to stand on and if the inclination is too small, -the run off of the water will not function properly. When castling a floor or a roof which slopes towards a drain, irregularities easily arise which cause remaining puddles on the floor or -the roof.
- A previous floor solving the problems of casted floors is made up in -rectangular blocks with a flat slope down towards a special block provided with a drain. In addition to these flat blocks and the drain block there are corner blocks having two different :flat slopes angled towards -each other for positioning in four corners between the four flat slopes. These corner blocks may cause edges between the planes during laying which may make laying of a wet floor mat more difficult. Besides, these edges are uncomfortable to stand on and deposits will easily gather there. Furthermore, the known floor requires spacer elements, which render the laying of the floor complicated for the inexperienced floor layer, especially for larger floor surfaces.
-
DE 41 24 109 A1 discloses a roof that slopes with four different sloping planes towards a drain, which is shown infigs. 3 and4 , whereby four edges arises between the different sloping planes. A large number of elements are used and applied in a complicated pattern. -
DE 86 17 311 U1 discloses a floor provided with a sloping upper surface. Like in the roof of the above mentioned reference cited, the floor disclosed inDE 86 17 311 U1 also has four different sloping planes as evident fromfigs. 2 and 6. - The object of the present invention is to provide a floor or a roof with sufficient run off of water which is easy to build.
- This object is fulfilled by a device according to the preamble characterised in that the sheet elements are formed as circular sector parts and are positioned around a floor or roof drain, each sheet element showing a lower support surface abutting a flat base surface, and an upper surface which continuously and radially slopes in a predetermined angle towards the floor or roof drain.
- Thanks to the invention a floor or a roof easily may be layed, which do not have to slope much to function properly since it continuously and radially always slope towards the drain without any edges or angles disturbing the water run off and the comfort.
- The floor or the roof is built from the drain and outwards in a circular manner where each circle comprises sheet elements having a specific shape of the circular sector part for each circle.
- The respective sheet element may be connected by means of groove and tongue or similar.
- The invention will now be described in more detail below by means of an exemplifying embodiment and with referal to the appended drawings, in which:
- Fig. 1
- illustrates a floor surface or a roof surface according to the present invention.
- Fig. 2
- illustrates the different designs of the sheet elements according to the circle to be made up by these elements.
- Fig. 3
- illustrates a sheet element having groove and tongue and two detail views.
- Fig. 4
- illustrates the slope of the floor or roof in a cross section view radially outwards from the drain.
- In
fig. 1 a roof or a wet room floor according to the invention is shown around adrain 10. A number of circles 1-7 made up bysheet elements 11 surrounds thedrain 10. The first circle comprises in the shown case five elements, the second circle comprises nine sheet elements, the third fourteen and so on. - As is shown in
fig. 2 thesheet elements 11 have different shapes for the different circles 1-7 to form the different circles, whose diameters differs. - In
fig. 3 it is shown that thesheet element 11 has anupper surface 12 which is displaced in relation to thesheet element 11 so that atongue 13 is formed at two of the side edges, see detail view A, and acorresponding groove 14 at the remaining two side edges of thesheet element 11, see detail view B. - Each
sheet element 11 has asubstructure 15, which shows asupport surface 16. The support surface is intended to abut a flat base, such as a sub floor. Thesubstructure 15 increases in height radially from theedge 17 which is closest to thedrain 10 in the mounted position to theedge 18 which is furthest away from thedrain 10 so that theupper surface 12 of thesheet element 11 will slope radially inwards thedrain 10, seefig. 4 . Thesubstructure 15 may be solid or comprise crossbars or other frame work and comprise any suitable material, for example, frigolit® (cellular plastic) or wood fibre. The inner most circle 1 is wedge shaped, preferably with a radial gradient of about 0,7 degrees. In the preferred embodiment the inner sheet element increases from 0 to 7 mm in height over a length of 600 mm. The sheet elements of the followingcircle 2 begin at the same height as thesheet elements 11 in the circle 1 inside (in thepreferred embodiment 7 mm) and they also have a radial gradient of about 0,7 degrees (whereby the edges furthest away of thesheet elements 11 ends at a height of 14 mm if also the sheet elements ofcircle 2 has a length of 600 mm). The sheet elements of the following circles follow the same idea, whereby a floor is formed with a constant radial gradient in towards thedrain 10. - When mounting, a drawing over the inventive sheet element built floor or roof is preferably used, which is placed with the drain marking over the actual drain. The drawing is folded along the delimiting walls or another limitation if so desired or required. There upon the circles are mounted until a fold in the drawing is reached. The first sheet is mounted in line with the fold, if possible, and the circle is filled up until it reaches the next fold, where the last sheet might need an adaption, for example, be sawn along the fold. Thereafter the next circle is mounted and adapted, sawn, as the drawing, i.e. the delimitation of the surface or so. Each circle of sheets may easily be displaced around the circle so that a minimum number of sheets are required and the waste may be minimized. Finally, floor or a roof have been formed that suits the intended surface around an existing drain. On top of the floor according to the invention a wet room mat or a roof covering for example be layed by a skilled person. Of course, it is possible to leave out the step of the drawing and directly lay the sheets in place at the floor or roof.
