Description
The present invention relates to a mechanical watch with two non-concentric analog displays, including a primary display indicating the local time and a secondary display indicating the time of any time zone, including a primary hour hand and a needle. primary minutes, a secondary hour hand and a secondary minute hand, and comprising a winding crown for occupying three distinct axial positions, a first position for winding the watch, a second position for changing the time of the secondary display and a third position for the synchronous setting of the two displays.
The drive mechanism described in this patent includes a separate return system for driving the additional switch and further comprising a jumper mechanism for driving the barrel wheel of the additional switch, which could also cause disadvantages regarding the complexity and accuracy of the mechanism.
The object of the present invention is to overcome these disadvantages and the invention is characterized for this purpose by the fact that the secondary hour hand of the secondary display is adjustable in both directions, forward and backward, by no one hour independent of the primary display using the winding crown in its second position, positioning a rocker so that a timezone pinion is driven through two pinions mounted on said rocker. Said time zone gear causes the gearing of the secondary display to engage with a time zone deflection so as to correct the time of the time zone in steps of one hour according to the direction of rotation of the winding crown. The correction of the time zone time indicated in the secondary display is thus easy and fast.
Other advantages emerge from the features expressed in the dependent claims and from the following description describing the invention in more detail with the aid of drawings, the fact that an embodiment of a watch according to the The invention is characterized in that the workings of the two displays are driven in their clockwise movement by means of a central pinion driving a primary timer mobile and a secondary timer mobile transferring the animation to the workings carrying the needles d display. These wheels include a primary hour wheel and a secondary hour wheel as well as a primary minute gear and a secondary minute gear. The central gear thus allows both the time of the two displays and the synchronous time setting of the two displays when it is driven via a mobile time setting. engaged with the primary gear mounted on the rocker, when it is in its third position. By these measures, we obtain a less complicated design and high level accuracy because the center gear drives both displays directly.
Moreover, it is advantageous that, in one embodiment of a watch according to the invention, the secondary hour hand is connected to the workings of the secondary display by means of an elastic clutch working in a plane and defining twelve stable positions for the secondary hour hand. This resilient clutch includes the secondary hour wheel, a time zone wheel carrying the secondary hour hand, and a star with twelve teeth mounted on this time zone wheel and a spring mounted on the secondary hour wheel. that the teeth of said star can pass on this spring, when the timezone wheel is driven by the time zone return to shift the secondary hour hand in steps of one hour relative to the hour hand primary. The fact that the clutch only works in one plane is particularly interesting for the limited space required for this system as well as for the simplicity of the design.
It is still possible to make this spring of the elastic clutch by a continuous spring and closed on itself having in its interior two arcs intended to cooperate with two opposite notches of the star integral with the time zone wheel. The spring further comprises two slots traversed by two separate pins integral with the secondary hours wheel to be driven by it. This allows rotation of the time zone wheel with respect to the secondary hour wheel using the twelve stable positions provided by the star teeth. A clutch working in a plane is thus achieved in a particularly simple manner.
A watch according to the invention can also be equipped with an elongated brake having a primary toothing and a secondary toothing at its ends, mounted pivotally and controlled by the rocker. Such a brake is intended on the one hand, when the winding crown is in its second position to change the time of the secondary display, to mesh with the secondary toothing in the toothing of the secondary minute gear to prevent a movement of the secondary minute hand when the secondary hour hand of the time zone is corrected by one-hour jump. On the other hand, this brake is intended, when the winding crown is in its third position for setting the synchronous time of the two displays, to mesh with the primary teeth in a board frictionally mounted on the central gear. to prevent movement of the basic drive train during this time setting. When the watch is in normal operation or when the watch is up, when the winding crown is in its first position, this brake is not engaged with any cog. A brake of this type thus makes it possible in a simple way to avoid any kind of unwanted influence of an operation on a train to another wheel and to separate the functions of the various wheels during the time setting or correction of the wheel. time zone on the one hand and normal walking or winding on the other.
These features make this dual timezone watch very manoeuvrable, particularly with respect to the use of the secondary display indicating the chosen time zone.
It is obvious that there are other different embodiments, particularly concerning the arrangement of the elastic clutch defining twelve stable positions for the secondary hour hand and other variants of the technical mechanisms.
The accompanying drawings represent, by way of example, an embodiment of the invention.

With respect to the
Thus, high precision is ensured because the two minute hands are driven by the same
The elastic clutch, which connects the
The
In the
