Abstract

Die Erfindung betrifft einen wassergekühlten Zylinderkopf für eine Brennkraftmaschine, mit einem Aufnahmeschacht zur Aufnahme eines Nockenwellenantriebsorgans, insbesondere einer Steuerkette. Der erfindungsgemäße Zylinderkopf zeichnet sich aus durch eine, den Nockenwellenantriebsschacht abdeckenden Schacht-Stirnwand, wobei in der Schacht-Stirnwand ein Kühlwasserkanal ausgebildet ist, der sich von einem Kühlwassereintrittsbereich zu einem Kühlwasseraustrittsbereich hin erstreckt. Dadurch wird es möglich, unter Verzicht auf eine freiliegende Kühlwasserleitung eine verbesserte Kühlwasserführung zu erreichen. Auch unter akustischen Gesichtspunkten erweist sich die erfindungsgemäße Lösung als besonders vorteilhaft.

The invention relates to a water-cooled cylinder head for an internal combustion engine, with a receiving shaft for receiving a camshaft drive element, in particular a timing chain. The cylinder head according to the invention is characterized by a shaft end wall covering the camshaft drive shaft, a cooling water channel being formed in the shaft end wall and extending from a cooling water inlet area to a cooling water outlet area. This makes it possible to achieve an improved cooling water flow without an exposed cooling water line. The solution according to the invention also proves to be particularly advantageous from an acoustic point of view.
