Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a rinsing cannula for rinsing a Root canal of a tooth, the irrigation cannula being a supply channel for a rinsing liquid that is on the proximal, with a Syringe or the like liquid supply connected connectable end region of the irrigation cannula at least one inlet opening and on the distal, in the use position in the Root canal introduced at least one end region of the irrigation cannula Has outlet opening for the rinsing liquid.
Rinsing the root canal with antibacterial and tissue-dissolving irrigation fluids, chemical debridement, is an integral part of dentistry Root canal treatment. Has been proven in numerous studies be that it is not by mechanical means alone it is possible to adequately cover all areas of the endodont to edit. There are always different expansions, not instrumented wall districts back. After a mechanical instrumental processing is the root canal wall above it also covered with debris and a smear layer that made up There is abrasion of dentine, but it can also contain bacteria. This one Smear layer the tightness of a root canal treatment root canal filling to be filled into the root canal and can be the source of a re-infection of the endodontus, should it largely removed by rinsing with adequate agents. The root canal irrigation can also in the root canal located dentin chips, which the root canal can block, be removed. In addition, the Root canal irrigation dissolves the organic and inorganic Root canal content, also in areas of the complex endodontic system, that of instrumental processing is not are accessible. This will possibly leave behind Bacteria do much of what is necessary for their survival Withdrawn substrate. Other root canal irrigation tasks are the disinfection of the endodont, the introduction of a Lubricant for root canal instruments to be inserted into the root canal as well as a bleaching effect on the coronal and radical tooth hardness substances.
From EP-A 0 290 011 a rinsing cannula is already the beginning known type known to an existing stainless steel Has cannula part that with one end with a a syringe containing a flushing fluid supply can be connected is. On her other, in the use position in the root canal inserted end points the cannula part to each other opposite sides two in the direction of extension of the Outlet openings partially offset from one another for the rinsing liquid, the one over the cannula part axially penetrating feed channel with the flushing liquid supply are connected. Through these openings the irrigation fluid is introduced into the root canal.
However, the irrigation cannula has the disadvantage that it is due to the curvature of the root canal that is always present in practice only partially inserted into the root canal, which rinses the root canal in the area of the root tip is difficult. Can in the area of the root tip then organic or inorganic residues in the root canal remain, leading to reinfection of the endodont being able to lead.
From US-A 4 276 880 a suction / irrigation cannula for a Combined suction / flushing device known, the cannula part has a certain bending stiffness. The suction / irrigation cannula has diametrically opposite one another at its distal end region arranged openings, on the one hand, the hydraulic Reduce pressure in the tissue surrounding the tooth should and through which on the other hand should be greater efficiency should be reached during suction. This cannula too allows only a limited cleaning of the root canal in the Area of the root tip.
There is therefore the task of a irrigation cannula at the beginning to create the type mentioned, even with curved root canals in a simple way over the entire length of the root canal a complete flushing of the root canal with the Allows rinsing liquid.
The solution to this problem is that the distal End area of the irrigation cannula for flexible adjustment of the end area the course of the root canal during insertion Titanium or a titanium alloy, and that the outlet openings at the distal end of the irrigation cannula are diametrically opposed to each other.
The distal end area of the irrigation cannula is therefore flexible trained so that he is in the insertion movement in adapts its course to the curvature of the root canal. In This advantageously allows the irrigation cannula to Root tip are inserted into the root canal so that this over its entire length with the rinsing liquid can be flushed. By diametrically opposite each other arranged outlet openings on the one hand good mechanical stability of the cannula part in the area the outlet openings reached and on the other hand the Irrigation fluid is evenly introduced into the root canal. The irrigation cannula thus enables complete cleaning and disinfection of the root canal. In particular, the Risk of reinfection of the root canal through the Root canal remaining organic or inorganic residues largely avoided.
It is particularly advantageous if the titanium alloy Shape memory alloy and in particular nickel and / or Contains aluminum as an alloy component (s). The irrigation cannula then adapts flexibly to the respective position Root canal curvature but decreases after removal from the root canal due to shape memory or Memory effect back to its original, preferably straight Form a. The irrigation cannula can be removed from the Root canal may be subjected to a temperature treatment, to the return caused by the memory effect to support their original shape. Thus when the irrigation cannula is reinserted into a root canal one caused by a pre-bend in the irrigation cannula Material tension in the irrigation cannula avoided, so that Risk of the rinsing cannula breaking off when inserting or Removed from the root canal and during the rinsing process is largely avoided. The irrigation cannula is suitable especially for multiple use.
In an advantageous embodiment of the invention provided that the outlet openings through a perforation the lateral boundary wall of the feed channel is formed are. The irrigation cannula then enables an even better and more uniform cleaning of the entire root canal.
At the proximal end region of the irrigation cannula, one can preferably a coupling receptacle with a screw thread for detachable connection with a matching coupling counterpart a syringe or the like liquid supply be provided. The from coupling receptacle and Coupling counterpart formed coupling then allows in Use position a good fixation of the irrigation cannula on the Syringe, but the coupling is still easy to release, if the irrigation cannula sterilizes an autoclave, for example must become.
