Nachteilig bei einer derartigen Vorrichtung in Form dieses Adapters ist es, dass mit dem Adapter kein hermetisch abgeriegelter Tank, bzw. kein Tank ohne permanent geöffneten Luftausgleich, aufgrund des sich aufbauenden Gegendrucks, nachgefüllt werden kann.

Ein Gegendruck beispielsweise würde dann vorliegen oder aufgebaut, wenn der dort gezeigte Tintenbeutel von einem zur Umgebung hermetisch abgeschlossenen Gehäuse umgeben wäre. Dann wäre ein Nachfüllen des Tintenspeichers mit der beschriebenen Vorrichtung aufgrund des entstehenden Überdrucks auch mit Hilfsmitteln wie Pumpen nicht möglich. Bei einer anderen dort gezeigten Lösung erfolgt lediglich ein interner Druckausgleich zwischen zwei unflexiblen und starr miteinander verbundenen Tintentanks über einfache Luftdurchlässe.
