Eine geringe Höhe der Trennkante der inneren Elemente ist vorteilhaft, da ihre parallel zur Fließrichtung des Vorhanges verlaufende Innenfläche zugleich als Führungselement für den Vorhangrand dient. Eine zu große Höhe führt dazu, daß sich der Vorhangrand zu weit oberhalb der zu beschichtenden Bahn von der Innenfläche löst. Seine Höhe ist ausreichend groß, so daß der abgetrennte Volumenstrom an Beschichtungsmaterial bei minimaler Beschichtungsbreite aufgefangen und abgeführt werden kann, ohne daß Beschichtungsmaterial überläuft. Bevorzugt verlaufen die Querrinnen 14 jeweils nach innen geneigt, und an ihrem inneren Ende ist im Bereich des Trennelementes 10 jeweils eine Ablaufrinne 16 befestigt. Über die Ablaufrinne 16, die gegen Bahnlaufrichtung ebenfalls bis in den Bereich oberhalb des Leitblechs 6 reicht, wird das aufgefangene Beschichtungsmaterial in die Auffangwanne 5 abgeleitet. Eine nach innen geneigte Querrinne 14 mit einer neben dem Trennelement 10 angeordneten Ablaufrinne 16 hat zwei Vorteile: Zum einen braucht die Auffangwanne 5 sich nur über die axiale Länge der Stützwalze 4 zu erstrecken, da auch bei maximaler Beschichtungsbreite sich die Ablaufrinne 16 noch im Bereich der Gegenwalze befindet. Zum anderen kollidiert das äußere Ende der Querrinne 14 nicht mit der Stützwalze 4, wenn die Trennmesser 9, 10 mit der Querinne 14 zur Einstellung einer minimalen Beschichtungsbreite sehr weit nach innen verschoben werden, wie in Fig. 4 gestrichelt dargestellt ist.On the outside of the
Im Betrieb werden die beiden Trennelemente 9, 10 mit der daran befestigten Querrinne 14 soweit nach innen verschoben eingestellt, daß das innere Trennmesser 9 im Bereich der gewünschten Beschichtungskante angeordnet ist. Das äußere Trennelement 10 mit größerer Höhe trennt den äußeren Teil des Vorhangrandes ab, der von der Querrinne 14 aufgefangen und über die Ablaufrinne 16 in die Auffangwanne 5 geleitet wird. Es entsteht so ein schmaler, innerer Vorhang 3, dessen Ränder danach von den inneren Trennelementen 9 abgetrennt und über die Randrinnen 13 abgeleitet werden. Die Innenfläche 12 jedes Trennelements 9 dient dabei als Führung für den Rand des Vorhangteils, der auf die Bahn 1 aufgetragen wird. Um eine Wulstbildung an den Längsrändern der Beschichtung auf der Bahn 1 zu vermeiden, ist an der Unterseite jeder Randrinne 13 eine Absaugleitung 17 angeordnet, die über einen Absaugkanal 18 in der Bodenplatte 11 in einem Absaugschlitz 19 in der Innenseite 12 des inneren Trennelements 9 mündet. Claims (12)
- Device for coating a running material web (1), in which the coating material is applied to the web in a free-falling curtain (3), and having dividing elements for dividing off the edges of the curtain (3) to the desired coating width, there being at least one dividing element on each side of the curtain (3), and there being a channel (13), by means of which the caught coating material is led away in or counter to the web running direction, on the outer side of the dividing element that determines the coating width of the material web (1), characterized in that an inner surface (12) of the dividing element that determines the coating width of the material web is flushed with an auxiliary liquid.

- Device for coating according to one of Claims 1 to 5, characterized in that a base plate (11) is arranged between the two dividing elements (9, 10) and with the dividing elements (9, 10) forms a channel (13), from which the caught coating material is led away in or counter to the web running direction.
- Device for coating according to one of Claims 1 to 6, characterized in that a transverse channel (14), which reaches beyond the lateral end of the outlet slot of the nozzle (2) when the minimum coating width is set, is fastened to the outer dividing element (10).
- Device for coating according to Patent Claim 7, characterized in that the transverse channel (14) runs in an inwardly inclined manner, and in that a run-off channel (16), which extends in or counter to the web running direction, is fastened to the inner end of the said transverse channel, in the region of the dividing element (10).
- Device for coating according to one of Patent Claims 1 to 8, characterized in that a suction extraction slot (19), which is connected to a suction extraction line (17), is arranged on the inner side (12) of an inner dividing element (9).
- Device for coating according to Claim 9, characterized in that the suction extraction slot is arranged on the underside of the dividing element (9) at a distance of 0.1 mm - 1 mm from the web (1) and has a length in the web running direction of 2 mm - 15 mm, preferably 3 mm - 5 mm.
- Device for coating according to Claim 9 or 10, characterized in that the suction extraction slot (19) is connected to the suction extraction line (17) via a suction extraction channel (18) in the base plate (11), and in that at least one line (20) for supplying flushing water opens out into the suction extraction channel (18).
- Device for coating according to one of Patent Claims 1 to 11, characterized in that the inner dividing element (9) has a cooling system.
