  • Common vertical antennas for mobile reception which are referred to as so-called rod antennas, such as the Classic ⁇ / 4 monopoly, due to the system, have a theoretical zero at an elevation angle of 90 ° or an angle theta of 0 °. Due to the influence of finite electrical conductivity and losses in the metallic base, for example the car roof, the maximum gain of these antennas is at an elevation angle between 10 ° and 35 °. Above an elevation angle of 35 °, the antenna gain decreases rapidly, which severely reduces the system reserve in the case of satellite reception. However, this can lead to loss of reception. Description
